Sonam Kapoor & Abhay Deol In “Aisha”
It can’t get fresher than this. Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol… a fresh casting coup, a crew in the age group 23 to 25, and a romantic subject that inspires interest, ‘Aisha’ promises to deliver entertainment at its zesty youthful best. Sanjeev K. Bijli, Joint MD, PVR Ltd, and Rhea Kapoor, producer and younger sibling of Sonny Girl are quite sanguine that they have a cine winner on their hands.
Reveals Rhea in a tabloid chat, “Since the average age of the cast is quite young, we were sure that the footprints of our generation would be visible in the film. Sonam and Abhay are both classy dressers and a great deal of thought and effort has gone into styling their costumes.”
‘Aisha’, an Indianised version of Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’ adapted to the contemporary format is being touted as a triumph for Sonny Girl.
Brings to mind Sonam’s earlier remark, “My sister is a people’s person and she’s a perfect producer. It was her idea that ‘Aisha’ should be set in Delhi, since the ambience would be like a modern version of Emma’s England at that time. The girls in our unit outnumbered the guys; we did great work and had good fun too. It was like having a hen party everyday!” Source
