Vidya Balan Tries To Learn Urdu, Mixed With Other Languages

Vidya Balan is after a lot of different things these days. She is learning to speak in Urdu and also the dialect spoken in the villages of Uttar Pradesh – and all for Vishal Bharadwaj’s Ishqiya.

Vikas Kumar, Vidya’s trainer said, “I am not teaching Vidya any language like say Avadhi or Bhojpuri. Since the film is based in Gorakhpur, I’m teaching her a mixture of languages, which the locals speak. I am also teaching her Urdu. Vidya is a hard working student.”

“It is quite difficult to learn any dialect. But, Vidya is a fast learner. She is very intelligent and has no airs. The fact that she is a South Indian and has been born and raised in Mumbai was a problem initially, but I am sure with a few more lessons she will be perfect,” adds Vikas.
