The shooting of movies are surely fun time for the film stars and it was on the sets of the upcoming movie 3-G which is produced by Eros Entertainment in association with Next Gen Films when Sonal Chauhan and Neil Nitin Mukesh had good time.

Whenever time permitted, the entire team of the psychological thriller, including Sonal’s sister Himani and Neil’s brother Naman, who is also working as one of the assistant directors on the film, would catch up on movies, their favorite being the animated one’s like THE LION KING, MONSTER HOUSE, FINDING NEMO, MADAGASCAR, ICE AGE and TOY STORY series -Apart from that, card games were another favorite pastime, not to mention, games on their tablet computers.

Whenever they got spare time the entire cast and crew which also included Sonal’s sister and Neil’s brother, would catch up for animated movies like The Lion King, Monster House, Ice Age, Finding Nemo Toy Story or would play cards or games on their tablets. They really had a good time at the island.

A unit source said, “Shooting in Fiji for about two months, gave the entire cast a crew time to bond. Everyone was like a family unit, staying up until the wee hours of the morning playing cards or watching back-to-back films. In fact, Sonal was never into animated flicks; however, we’ve got her addicted to them. She was also very lucky during card games and would always end up winning.”

After her debut in Mahesh Bhatt’s Jannat, Sonal Chauhan disappeared from the big screen. Now the actress (who is also a Philosophy student) is back in Bollywood with Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.
 
Sonal speaks to Patcy N about the film and what it’s like working with two such formidable co-stars.
 
Why this long gap after the success of Jannat? Did you miss Bollywood?

Sonal Chauhan was a victim of the incessant monsoon rains.

The actress was off to Pune for an appearance, after completing her final day of shoot for Bbuddha Hoga Terra Baap when she met with a mishap on the expressway.

As it was pouring, the car skid off the road and hit a road divider. The vehicle was damaged but Sonal and her driver were safe, though the driver complained of sprain in his back and arm.

The actress had a slight bump and minor bruises on her head.

Sonal got help from passers-by and only after the driver assured her that all was well with him, they resumed their journey. Source

Sonal Chauhan, the leading lady in Jannat, has been signed up to play the heroine in director Anthony D’Souza’s next film. Incidentally, Anthony is the director of the much-hyped film of the year – Blue. The actress, who has suffered a brain injury during the film shooting in Punjab, said that she approached Anthony when she came to know that he was looking for a heroine in his film.

It is worth mentioning here that Sonal turned down an offer from the Bhatts to star in their film Jashan. Clarifying on her stance on this issue, Sonal said that she did not reject their film but did not want to star in it at that point of time. Source

Sonal Chauhan is obsessed of the two Khans in the bollywood – Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Sonal admits that when it comes to the looks department nobody can beat Sallu at it.

“Salman Khan is the best looking man in the film industry. There’s something special about him. I love the rawness that he carries with himself.”

But when it comes to acting talent and handling a career intelligently, Sonal feels Aamir Khan is an ace.

“Aamir Khan is the most talented actor in the film industry. Coupled with hardwork and luck, Aamir has reached great heights. He is someone aspiring actors can look upto. He is also handled his career with perfect acumen.” Source

Sonal Chauhan has had a good start to her Bollywood debut. Her first movie Jannat (2008) was relased on May 17, 2008 which also happended to be her birthday. The movie has done well at the box office within India as well as overseas. The movie is maintaining it’s tickets sales even with the flurry of IPL matches going on in India. The movie also stars Emran Hashmi and is directed by Kunal Deshmukh. Given the success the film has brought the producers, Mukesh Bhatt, they have signed Sonal for Raaz 2 (2008) the sequel to Raaz (2002).Its not sure whether Vikram Bhatt would be directing it again or not, but it would be a hundred times scarier than Raaz. Thats for sure.

Recently Sonal Chauhan was in news because of some confrontation she had with her long time companion Sahil Zaroo, an accused in the Rahul Mahajan drug case, at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The incident happended at the Jet Airways counter as Sonal was collecting her boarding pass for a flight to Hyderabad. This is when Sahil Zaroo, who was also booked on the same flight, appeared and seemed liked a minor altercation has started between the two, which ended with Zaroo slapping Chouhan and then throwing Sonal’s mobile phone on the floor, then running from the scene. CISF officials posted at the airport caught hold of him immediately. Source

Sonal Chauhan, star of current box office hit, Jannat was slapped by her ‘good friend’ publicly at Santa Cruz airport, Mumbai after a war of words between them.

 The boyfriend , Sahil Zaroo was picked up by the CISF personnel at the airport and handed over to the Santa Cruz airport police after the incident.
He was remanded to two days in police custody.

The incident happened when Sonal Chauhan along with her father had come to the Jet Airways counter at Santa Cruz domestic airport to collect a boarding pass for a Hyderabad bound flight. Sahil Zaroo was also present there at the same time and the two started talking, which ultimately turned in to an argument. Sahil then grabbed her mobile phone and threw it to the ground and then slapped Sonal before trying to run away.

However the CISF guards caught up with him and handed him to the Airport police. Sahil Zaroo was arrested under Sections 323 (causing hurt), 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 448 (tress-pass), 509 (insulting modesty of a woman) and 427 (causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code

Newcomer Sonal Chauhan says she was asked to wear bikini in her debut film.

Jannat marks the transition or rather graduation of Sonal from ramps to Bollywood. And the gorgeous belle has already got her priorities right in place.

For starters, she is not game for posing in revealing clothes. She is also not open to doing intimate scenes with her co-stars. Sonal has revealed in an interview that she was asked to wear a bikini and do a bed scene with Emraan Hashmi in ‘Jannat’, but she refused to do them.

“I have not shot a single scene where I am in bikini or in such a condition that I cannot watch with my family,” says Sonal and goes on to claim that ‘Jannat’ doesn’t even have a kissing scene between Emraan and her.

However, what she does concede to is doing a pole dance for a song with Russian dancers.

Sonal adds that working with Hashmi was fun. She recalls that he tried playing a few pranks on her, but without much success.

“On a promotional event he tried to add something into my drink, but I caught him. During shooting, we played pranks on a few unit-members by knocking on the doors of their rooms and disappearing,” says Sonal.

Apart from ‘Jannat’, Sonal has two more films with Vishesh Films. She recently also signed a film by producer Kumar Mangat.
