Sandhya Mridul : Tete a Tete !

Sandhya Mridul was caught up close witha a tete a tete interview by a tv news channel.
How was the experience of being a jury member for a television festival in Shanghai?
It was very interesting. There was all kind of cinema present. The jury constituted of people talented in various fields of film making from all over the world. It did not seem like there was any kind of a language barrier as the only language people spoke was cinema. The invitation was a big surprise and an even bigger surprise was the overwhelming reception I received there. Everybody knew who I was! It was a great honour. I was not just the only Indian but also the youngest jury member.
As a TV and film actress yourself, does it make you proud to see Indian actors being recognised in other countries as well?
Extremely proud. Keeping in mind the diversity and size of this country, we also have the capability and are churning out world class talents in different genres.
It’s been a while now that one saw you on TV…
In films, one gets a chance to work on a big canvas. But it’s television that got me the recognition and I could make the transition to the big screen. Not keeping in mind the medium, as an actor in love with her job, I would love to work on projects that bring out the best in me and help me grow in dimensions as a versatile actor. More
