After the likes of Big B, Shahrukh, Karan Johar and a ‘host’ of other Bollywood celebrities, it is now the turn of pretty lady Preity Zinta to make her appearance on the small screen.
The actress has agreed to host UTV’s ‘The Preity Zinta Show’ for its new Bollywood channel UTV Stars, to be produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Idiot Box division.
The show is slated to go on air on August 19. It is rumoured that Abhishek Bachchan would be the first guest.
This is not the first time Preity Zinta is hosting a show on television. Earlier she had anchored Guinness Book of World Records: Ab India Todega on Colors. More
As reported earlier, “Ishq In Paris”, an Indo-French project, is Preity’s first production venture and she plays a half-Indian half-French girl who falls in love in one of the most expensive cities in the world to shoot in.
“From the start, we were very sure that Preity would get her French absolutely right with the correct accent and pronunciation. We did not want to dub her French dialogues. By the time we start shooting, I am dead sure Preity will know as much French as any native and speak the language fluently enough to pass off as a Frenchwoman,” said Prem Soni, the director.
He thinks there’s something distinctly French about Preity’s looks and added: “So many people have commented on how French she looks. I couldn’t have cast anyone else in the role.” More
Similar to Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen, Dia Mirza and Ameesha Patel, Preity Zinta is now all set to turn producer.
The actress, who in the recent past has been more often seen on the cricket field than in front of the silver screen, is now ready with her maiden production venture titled Ishkq In Paris. Preity excitedly tweeted about this news to her fans, “Ok Guys! Here it is….. The movie I am going to produce is called “Ishkq In Paris” & I am SUUUPEERR excited about it!!!! Bollywood actress Preity Zinta seems to have got quite bored with her constant link-up to Australian fast bowler Brett Lee, who now plays for her Indian Premier League team Kings XI Punjab.
The actress, who was earlier dating industrialist Ness Wadia, took to micro-blogging site Twitter to tell her friends and fans that she is just friends with Lee.
“I think being romantically linked to Brett every year is outdated and stale news now! So sorry to say folks NO NEWS here! FRIENDS yeesss (sic),” posted Preity.
The duo was recently spotted together at a restaurant in Mumbai, and according to reports, they chose to exit separately to avoid paparazzi. Lee has expressed on many occasions earlier that Preity is his favourite actress. Source
No, it’s not Sanjay Dutt or Emraan Hashmi playing the underworld goon. It is, in fact, the bubbly-faced Preity Zinta who will be seen essaying the role of a gangster! The actress has reportedly said ‘yes’ to Jai Ramji, to be directed by filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia.
“Preity Zinta liked the script and has agreed to work in the film. However, I have not yet formally signed her, as she is busy with IPL and is not in Mumbai. The formalities should be completed once she is back in the city,” Dhulia told Mumbai Mirror.
Other stars in the film include Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan and Randeep Hooda. The film is reportedly going on floors in July and should be complete by December-January. The last time a lady was seen in a gangster role was Neha Dhupia playing Munni Madam in Phas Gaye Re Obama.
Remember those reports of Preity Zinta taking up television anchoring because no one was offering her silver screen roles? Well, this should shut them up. Now, all that remains to be seen is whether Preity is able to set any records with this film. Source
Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who is upset with the media intrusion on her visit to Shirdi, said that every celebrity does not go to the temple for publicity.
“Not every celebrity goes to a temple for Tamasha (publicity). Some genuinely go to pray and to disturb them is bad karma,” Preity said on micro-blogging site Twitter.
“I wonder why temples have become so commercial. Why a temple trustee`s urge to be photographed with a celebrity is entertained by the media,” she said. The 36-year-old actress went to Shirdi yesterday and is miffed with media for “pushing” her around.
“Went to Shirdi yesterday and came back with memories of media pushing me instead of the serene face and the energy of Sai Baba,” she said.
“In a rut to make anything news have we forgotten to respect God and someone`s genuine devotion,” she said, adding, “in front of God we bare ourselves and look to purify our soul. Instead of feeling uplifted. I came back feeling sad and deprived from Shirdi.” More
Charming sweet bubbly girl, Preity Zinta is all set to make a comeback on the silver screen afresh. She is a darling of all her fans, and won many hearts with her dimpled smile. She will be seen in Mahesh Manjrekar’s upcoming flick “White”. She won’t be playing a sweet bubbly girl character in this movie; instead she will be seen portraying a sombre weighty character. This role will undergo changes and distortion from early 20s to late 60s.
Preity is thrilled to accept this new challenge, which will enable her to showcase her acting skills. White is an austere drama with a pensive storyline. Preity will be the leading lady in this movie. Manjrekar’s last directorial venture was “City of Gold”. He is also acting in Anees Bazmee’s film “Ready”. This project will be finalised as soon as he returns to Mumbai.
Preity was last seen in an item number in the film “Main Aurr Mrs Khanna”, and in the previous year in Deepa Mehta’s “Heaven On Earth”, enacting an agonized wife. Ladies and gentleman gear up, as the most ‘Happening’ babe of the tinsel town is going to take your hearts away! Source
IPL Tean Kings XI Punjab co-owner and Bollywood star Preity Zinta said she was disappointed to lose all-rounder Irfan Pathan but glad to buy former Australian wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist in the first session of auction for the fourth leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday.
Kings XI Punjab went all out to buy their former player Irfan Pathan but faced a fierce fight from Delhi Daredevils. Punjab was in the bidding till $1.8 million before Daredevils grabbed him for $1.9 million.
“Irfan is a wonderful player. He is a great swing bowler and a good batsman. He has a good temperament. He was my favourite player in the team and we wanted to have him. So, we are naturally disappointed, you don’t get every player you want to buy,” Preity said.
Kings XI Punjab, however, are drawing solace from the purchase of Gilchrist, who led Deccan Chargers to win the second edition of the league. They bought the retired Australian for $900,000.
“Gilchrist is the only reason I am smiling. Adam is an inspiring and fantastic player and he holds his nerves in a tough situation. I have not spoken to him but have exchanged text messages after we bought him,” she said. Source
The livewire, dimpled beauty is said to bounce back on the big screen soon.
News are saying that Preity Zinta has chosen Yash Raj Films as her comeback vehicle. And guess what… she will be joining the YRF’s ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ gang – Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif and Ali Zafar!
But… the beauty herself is not nodding her head in agreement when sources asked her to confirm things. It seems Preity wants to surprise all with her new avatar, which sources reveal will be completely hot and glamorous.
Well, we saw her short glimpse in ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ through an item number. Looks like that song was just a trailer… Now lets wait for the ‘Pretty Woman’ to make a formal full length entry. Source
Celebrity designer Manish Malhotra’s shows are known for their heavy dose of Bollywood presence and it was not surprising that A-list actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Rani Mukjerji and Priety Zinta dazzled in the guest gallery at his offering at the Lakme Fashion Week.

“For me, my clothes are my life and I wake up to it. ‘Save the Tiger’ is also a great cause to support and I’m happy that I collaborated with them,” Malhotra told reporters after the show. More

Machoman Salman Khan says he is supporting actress Preity Zinta`s Kings XI Indian Premier League team, though he admits he hasn`t watched any of the matches in season-3 of the tournament.
“I am supporting Zinta`s team, but I haven`t watched any of the matches as yet,” Salman told reporters at the `mahurat` (inauguration) of Rahul Dholakia`s film “Society” here Tuesday.
The film has been produced by Smita Thackeray, who is daughter-in-law of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray. Salman believes that media shows the face of society so it should not amplify trivial issues.
“Show good things to the society. Sometimes you make stories out of nothing and exaggerate some trivial issues. Don`t do that,” Salman said. Source
