The gorgeous and sexy Minnisha Lamba was recently shooting for Shyam Benegal’s ‘Abba Ka Kuan’ in Hyderabad.

Apparently the actress really loves the city and for a very justified reason.

We hear that the actress goes on a journey of gastronomical delight whenever she visits the Nizam’s city! Apparently the actress loves all the delicious food served there and is a big fan of curd rice, the peanut rice and the vadas.

“I go on a completely vegetarian diet when I am in Hyderabad. The food there is just too delicious!” laughs the actress. Source

The mommy-to-be was paired opposite Vivek Oberoi in the flick but had to back out, following the happy news. A source reveals, “Tara was very excited about working in the Saif-Kareena-Vivek starrer, but on realising she was pregnant, she opted out.

The schedule was to be shot in December in New York but due to technical issues, was postponed to May.Tara is due in July and has been advised not to travel in the last few months of her pregnancy.” So she had a word with Karan and Rensil, who understood her predicament and let her go. Tara confirms, “I’m not doing Rensil’s movie. I was really looking forward to it but I am also looking forward to my motherhood. Source

After playing Mahi in ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and Sonia Raina in ‘Kidnap‘, Minissha Lamba will soon be seen donning the role of a village belle for Shyam Benegal’s forthcoming film ‘Abba Ka Kaun’, a father daughter story where she plays Boman Iraani’s daughter in the film. 

The role is such that in the film she is required to speak in a dialect called Dakini to lend an authentic touch to her character!
Muses the pretty actress, “Considering that I have never been in a village in my life, now I play a character that is village bred!”

“I am disappointed that Kidnap didn’t turn out well. It really feels sad when you work so hard for a film and which is so close to you and it doesn’t do well,” Minissha said.

The actress shaved off seven kg for her role as a 17-year-old teenager in the film following a rigorous regime over a period of eight months. However, Minissha says she would never go to the extremes of putting on mass for a character in any film.

“I am never ever going to put on weight for a character in a film. I am one of those body types who find it very difficult losing weight and so I am never going to do that. Putting on weight is a nightmare for me,” she said. Source

Minissha has quite an adventurous streak in her and is quite a water baby. The schedule of Kidnap in Mauritius involved scenes where she was required to take a dip in the sea. During one such shot, so engrossed was Minissha in her mid sea swim that she did not realize that the currents had pushed her far from where she was supposed to be.

The film’s cameraman was the first to realize that she was nowhere in the frame! The crew panicked as the underwater currents had pushed her about 2 kilometers away from the coastline while Minissha was blissfully unaware of the situation. It took the crew ten minutes to finally spot the petite actress, much to everyone’s relief. A speedboat was sent to retrieve her immediately!

Director Sanjay Gadhvi confirmed the news. “It was scary to say the least but all’s well that ends well!” he remarked. Source

Minissha Lamba has a say on her upcoming release Kidnap. “Sonia of Kidnap is so very different from Mahi of Bachna Ae Haseeno even though both are in their growing up years.” Revealing more about the contrasting parts that she has played in the two films, Minissha says, “In Bachna…, I was this sweet girl with moony eyes who is looking for togetherness in life from the first guy she falls in love with ever. She is unable to ever forget her first love. On the other hand in Kidnap, my character is that of a hip girl who parties hard, is quite sassy and overall energetic. She never lets a dull moment around her.”

Since she is in her early 20s, where does she see herself in real life? Is she the ‘bindaas’ Sonia from Kidnap who doesn’t mind getting into a bikini once on beach? Laughs Minissha, “In real life I am somewhere between Mahi and Sonia. I am not that dreamy and demure or overtly outrageous. I am rather pragmatic in real life and know what is possible in real world and what’s not. I am actually quite grounded to reality and that’s the way I like things to be.” More
