The Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi starrer ‘Ishqiya’ garnered much critical acclaims for its story, direction and characters…. While the news of its sequel was making rounds for sometime, it is now reported that the second version will be titled ‘Dedh Ishqiya’.

The movie like the original will be directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Vishal Bharadwaj.

This is serious news for all you Madhuri Dixit fans. No less than 5.6 per cent of homes with cable and satellite television watched dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on day one.

This was head and shoulders above Kaun Banega Crorepati, anchored by Amitabh Bachchan, which opened with a viewership of 4 per cent on the channel, while Shah Rukh Khan’s Zor Ka Jhatka on NDTV Imagine managed just 2.6 per cent viewership.

For years, there has been an unwritten rule in showbiz that married actresses, especially those with children, don’t sell. Dixit, now in her 40s, married a US-based doctor some years ago and bid adieu to the entertainment industry – but the industry does not seem ready to let go of her so easily.

Remo vied for many years to meet Madhuri – in studios, at film shootings and screenings, but his big chance came when he was asked to share the stage with her as the judge of Sony TV`s “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4″.

Ajay Devgn and Madhuri Dixit met on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa after 10 years.

The last time the stars had met was during the shoot of Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke after which Madhuri became Mrs Nene and went off to the USA and Ajay continued with his films.

Ajay was in Filmistan with Emraan Hashmi and Madhur Bhandarkar to promote their next release Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji.

The trio had come there to shoot for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa where Madhuri is a judge. Mads and AJ met with warmth like long-lost friends and spent an hour chatting and catching up on their lives before the shoot started. Source

The dhak dhak diva Madhuri Dixit and comedy king Govinda relived their more than a decade-old memories as they danced together to their popular number Makhna for an episode of reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4.

The song from the 1998 film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan became a chartbuster for its peppy tune and catchy dance steps by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda and Madhuri. So, the two actors didn’t miss the chance to dance to the song again when they met on the sets of the reality show.

While Madhuri is a judge on the show, Govinda came to support his nephew Krushna Abhishek, a participant in the dance competition.

It was at Krushna’s behest that Madhuri and Govinda took to the dance floor on the song, said a source.

If what we hear is true, Madhuri Dixit may soon playing the role of Sonam Kapoor’s mother in Anil Kapoor’s remake of the Hollywood film, Freaky Friday.

The role was previously offered to Shabhana Azmi, Rekha and Kirron Kher who had to turn it down due to date clashes. Since Anil has said that he would like to work with his former leading lady again, he felt that Madhuri suited the role perfectly. Although she likes the script, we are still waiting for confirmation on her part in the film which revolves around a mother and daughter who magically swap roles for a day.

Could this be Madhuri’s comeback from her previous comeback, Aaja Nachle?

Her secretary and previous manager, Rakesh Nath has said, “She has got four-five very good offers. She will definitely do another film soon, but this time we have to be very careful. Her last outing ‘Aaja Nachle’ may have failed and she may be based in the US, but that`s not stopping Bollywood`s dancing diva Madhuri Dixit from being part of the evolving entertainment industry in India. Still flaunting flawless skin and an evergreen smile, she says she has no regrets over any film.

The 43-year-old is back in business with what she is best at – dance. She will be judging Sony TV`s reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, and says the failure of ‘Aaja Nachle’ in 2007 didn`t deject her one bit.

“I don`t regret doing anything. When you work in a film, you do it thinking it will turn out well and will do well. But when it doesn`t do well, there`s nothing much you can do about it. So why should I regret anything?” said Madhuri, looking rosy cheeked in an orange and yellow sari.

A resident of Denver, Colorado, where she lives with her husband Sriram Nene and two sons – Arin, 7, and Raayan, 5 – she is out of touch with Bollywood but wants to be part of the changing face of Indian cinema by trying her hand at new genres.

“My choice of scripts will always be based on what appeals to me in a role. Of course, I will be looking for different kinds of roles. It`s tough to say which role I have liked in recent times…but, yes, very different kinds of films are being made these days and it would be great to know what`s out there for me,” Madhuri told reporters in an interview. There are talks that prominent Bollywood choreographer, Saroj Khan will produce a Broadway show based on historical dancer, Amrapali with Madhuri as the lead role. It will be directed by Feroze Khan.

Saroj has worked with a number of Bollywood actresses and is responsible for Madhuri’s hit dance numbers like ‘Ek Do Teen’ from Tezaab, ‘Chane Ke Khet’ from Anjaam and ‘Dola Re’ from Devdas. Source

Its a bit of disappointment for all the fans. The rumors that Madhuri Dixit will soon be starring in a new film and that her co-star will be hunky Ranbir Kapoor are totally false. The director of the supposed project, Prakash Jha, has denied the reports saying that the stories were all a fabrication.

Jha said, “It’s absurd. Logon ka kuch kaam nahin, toh they start cooking up these stories. Everyone’s talking about it. But I have no idea who spread these rumours.” The rumors came as a surprise to both Madhuri, whose manager called Jha and also too Ranbir, which Jha says, “must be running for cover.”

In fact there is no project like the one rumored in the works at all. Jha is currently working only on Rajneeti, “No. I take up one project at a time, aur ek project ko banane mein paanch saal lag jaate hain. Currently, I’m trying to wrap up Rajneeti.” Rajneeti, which is a political drama, has an all-star cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai.

So, fans will have to wait and watch and hope that Mads will grace the silver screen once again soon. Source
