Earlier Lara Dutta and Dino Morea used to see each other a lot. The old lovers again happened to cross one another’s road at Shahrukh Khan’s bash. Shahrukh and Gauri had thrown a party at Mannat, last week. Present on the occasion was Dino Morea and his ex beau Lara Dutta. When Lara saw Dino getting closer to designer Nandita Mahtani, she left the party and Dino followed her.
A source present at the event reveals, “Lara, Dino, Preity, Ness, and Nandita were all seen having a conversation. Later, Preity and Ness started mingling with other guests and the trio was left to themselves. Dino and Nandita were in the chatty mode, and were seen joking and laughing. It was obvious that Lara wasn’t too comfortable with her beau’s ex around.”
Apparently at one point, Lara saw Nandita sitting on Dino’s lap and she lost her patience and left the party. On seeing her leave, Morea too excused himself and followed her. A source close to the couple admits, “Yes, they had a tiff over Nandy but they talked and things are fine now.” Source
Lara Dutta is no more trusting in the Bollywood scripts. She has herself made her mind to write a script.
“What prompted me to write a script for myself? Scriptwriters in Bollywood aren’t writing anything in depth for a woman. Invariably the scripts glorify the hero while the heroine is the love interest. And the women-oriented films are half-baked attempts at feminist statements. Both to me are uninspiring,” Lara said.
So will she take to direction as well?
“No I’m not ready to direct yet. And I can’t wait to start my film. I’ve done two drafts. And I think it needs one more draft, then I’m ready,” she said.
But, interestingly, Lara hasn’t written a woman-oriented film.
“It has equal space for the male and female protagonists. It’s not one of those feminist, in-your-face women’s films. The male lead will have a lot to contribute to my film.”
And, yes, Lara will produce the film. “We start soon. It will be a very commercial film. And I can’t wait.” The former Miss Universe refused to reveal if Dino Morea, with whom she is linked, will play the lead in her film. More

Abu Dhabi is like a lucky mascot as my last release also had many portions shot here and it turned out to be a super-hit. We have been shooting at the Emirates Palace hotel and you just got to see the hotel to believe how wonderful it is. Abu Dhabi has become the new Switzerland.” says Lara Dutta.
Lara Dutta has recently been lending her voice to the animation film Jumbo:
“Yes it is true that I have dubbed for Jumbo,” she explains, “Akshay Kumar asked me to see the film and then decide if I wanted to do it. I saw it and thought that it was a very sweet film. So, I dubbed for it. Jumbo is my gift to my junior audience. It is my first animation film and so I did not want to charge for it.”
Lara is one of the busiest actors in Bollywood at the moment. She is said to look simply ravishing in Blue and she also has lined up and of course Billo Barber. Economics graduate, former Miss Universe, this is one girl who knows how to live life to the full! Source

Shri Astavinayak Cine Vision have got Hollywood make up artist Nikoletta Skarlatos to do Lara Dutta’s make up in the film Blue. Nikoletta has worked on Hollywood blockbuster films like Transformers and also was responsible for Keira Knightley’s look in Pirates of the Caribbean.
When contacted, Lara said, “The film required a make up artist who could handle make up for under water sequences as well as special effects for the action sequences. We also wanted someone who could give me a glamorous but natural beach look. Nikoletta Skarlatos was recommended by the film’s international action team. She and Clarabelle Saldhana have put together my look. They have done an amazing job and I am thrilled with the results.”
Commenting on her experience of working with Nikoletta, Lara added, “Working with Nikoletta was fantastic. Their techniques are far advanced and I picked up a lot of make up tips. She is particularly good with underwater make-up. And having spent so much of time on the sets, she is now a great fan of Hindi films. I gifted her a few Hindi film DVDs.” Source
Lara Dutta has accepted SRK’s forthcoming film which is produced by his home production Red Chillies Ent. Actresses like Tabu and Amisha refused to be part of the film as the length of that character was too small. However Priyadarshan who had already worked with Lara asked her about this role and she agreed to do it. Lara has been paired opposite Irrfan Khan.
Apparently this might have made SRK feel good about Lara who agreed to do the film when other actresses had refused. A unit hand informs that SRK took special care of Lara. The shoot of Billoo Barber happened at Pollachi, a small town in Tamil Nadu. The film has been shot in a remote area where the stars couldn’t enjoy the five star facilities. However it is believed that SRK personally took responsibility of arranging a decent and rather comfortable stay for Lara.
“Lara’s sporty attitude overwhelmed SRK. He made arrangements for her stay. The old farm was converted into a specious South Indian home,” says a unit hand. Apparently Lara never complained about anything rather she enjoyed shooting in the remote area. It is believed that she came across huge snakes and had to travel in tractors to the location. Source

The sensuous actress Lara Dutta has turned scriptwriter so that she can show off her acting capabilities according to her convenience.
Lara has said that she never seems to get the serious roles and her fans are not getting to see the actress behind all the sex… it is because of this that she has decided to write the perfect script for herself. The script is all but complete and she is now on the lookout for a director. As expected she will finance the film herself.
When asked why she doesn’t take the helm of director herself, Lara responds, “No I’m not ready to direct yet. I’ve completed two drafts, and I think it needs one more draft and then I’ll be ready. Scriptwriters in Bollywood aren’t writing anything in-depth for women. Invariably, the scripts glorify the hero while the lead actress only remains his love interest. And the women-oriented films are half-baked attempts at feminist statements. Both are uninspiring to me.”
Lara has also stated that the film will be a commercial entertainer and not an arty drama. Shooting will begin as soon as a director is in place. Source

Ravishing Lara Dutta, the heroine of Billoo Barber, got a firsthand experience of Priyan’s realistic streak while shooting for the film in Pollachi, in Tamil Nadu. Priyan did not allow Lara to wear Neeta Lulla’s creations as he found them too glamorous for her role of a village belle. Instead, he personally went shopping and bought some low-end saris for Lara.
And that’s not all, Priyan even made Lara work harder for her role. Lara says, ‘It’s true that Priyan did go sari-shopping for me with the film’s Director of Photography. He came back laden with cotton, teewashed and crumpled saris. The role is way beyond what I have done till now. Priyadarshan made me slog it out harder in those 20 days in Pollachi than I have done in my entire life. He made me do all domestic chores – from blowing a chulha to get the fire going, to drawing water from a well, to feeding Irrfan Khan (her co-star) and the goats. I am completely trained to be a housewife now. This is not your average gao ki gori role; it’s that of a very poor village woman in crumpled saris.’
Adds Lara, ‘I walked barefoot for the film. I remember at one point I looked down and wondered whose feet they were. My role in Billoo Barber isn’t very footage-friendly, but it is extremely deglamorised, real and very challenging.’ Source

Bollywood diva Lara Dutta was recently invited as a special guest at a car launch. The beauty arrived their way behind time and blamed the Mumbai traffic for her delay. Being late, she couldn’t launch the car, but she did play a good product endorser. She said, “The car is the star of the show. I am only here to enhance it.”
Women are generally considered to be unfit behind the wheel. However, Lara was out there to prove it otherwise. When asked to comment if women are actually bad drivers, Lara laughed, “Watch me on the road.” She went on to say, “I think it’s a fabulous segment in the market where working women can afford to buy a car and indulge themselves in things normally considered to be a man’s sport. Personally, I think women are fantastic behind the wheel.” Also, according to her, it’s not just the men who are paranoid about their cars. When it comes to obsessing about its interiors and décor, women can’t be left behind. She says, “If a woman buys a car with her own hard earned money, they wouldn’t want anybody to touch it, even if it’s her boyfriend or husband.” Source

Veteran Director Priyadarshan admits he had written the female lead of his forthcoming movie ‘Billo Barber’ with favourite actress Tabu in mind but had to settle for Lara Dutta instead due to date problems.
Priyadarshan and Tabu have done great work together in films like ‘Viraasat’ and ‘Kala Pani’. The versatile actress even agreed to do an inconsequential role in ‘Hera Pheri’ only for Priyadarshan’s sake. ‘Billo Barber’ is being produced by superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Said Priyadarshan: ‘It’s a role of a full-on firebrand village girl. And it’s patterned on Tabu’s role in my ‘Viraasat’. I’ve to admit I think of Tabu for every female lead. But Lara is sensitive and strong enough to carry this role off with elaan.’ He said that Lara plays the wife of a barber, portrayed by Irrfan Khan. ‘Though the character belongs to a higher caste, she defies social norms and the diktats of the village to marry a barber. Lara’s sophisticated image hasn’t come in the way of her performance at all. She’ll shock you,’ Priyadarshan says.
A source close to the project said: ‘There was a certain amount of reservation about the part when Lara heard it was opposite Irrfan. Lara is extremely conscious of her co-stars’ status. Earlier she had refused Anil Kapoor’s ‘Short Cut’ with Arshad Warsi. ‘But the temptation of being in the same film with Shah Rukh prevailed. She had never been in any film with him and he’s producing ‘Billo Barbar’. She sees this as stepping stone to a film with Shah Rukh.’ Source

Vashu Bhagnani has added extra spice to Govinda and David Dhawan’s jodi by roping in Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen, Ranvir Shorey and Rajpal Yadav. The film is tentatively titled Do Not Disturb.
Excited about Do Not Disturb, Vashu says, “The correct selection of star cast is half battle won. I feel both Govinda and Riteish Deshmukh have excellent comic timing which will work wonders for the film.” Do Not Disturb goes on floors on June 15.
Besides all this, Vashu is also launching his son Jackie in Kal Kisne Dekha, which is directed by Vivek Sharma. The film goes on floors in the next few months.
