Perfectionist Aamir Khan has spurred a catfight of sorts or so it seems. The actor, who has signed his first movie this year to be directed by Reema Kagti of Honeymoon Travels Ltd fame, has ignited a war between leading Bollywood actresses.
As of now, there is a tug of war going on between Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Katrina Kaif for the second lead opposite the actor, after the first lead was bagged by Kareena Kapoor.
And the decision for the second female lead rests with no one else but Aamir Khan. The actor, along with his co-producers and Excel Entertainment, is set to finalise the second female lead for the flick. More
It seems that all is not well between Salman Khan and Kangna Ranaut. The buzz around the town is that newbie Sonakshi Sinha is going to replace Kangna Ranaut in Salman Khan’s home production. And it’s all owing to the sudden rift between Salman and Kangna who was also not present at his ‘Being Human’ show.
Kangna was offered to play the female lead opposite handsome hunk Salman Khan in the yet untitled movie to be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The movie was said to be a Hindi remake of Marathi film ‘Mee Shivajiraje Bhosle Boltoy’, which was too directed by Manjrekar.
However, according to reports, Salman has put the film with Kangna on indefinite hold. Apparently, Kangna is still not out of the movie but the beautiful lass is definitely not going to play the lead opposite Salman.
Talking to a news daily, a source close to the unit said, “The script is undergoing some changes. Moreover, a few other members of the cast have also been changed. Salman himself is supervising the details.”
The source added, “Another reason why Manjrekar’s film co-starring Ranaut is not Salman’s first priority at present is that Salman is going to be very busy with the TV show ‘Bigg Boss 4’ and two films, ‘Kick’ and ‘Bodyguard’. Both ‘Kick’ and ‘Bodyguard’ are very big films and Salman is not going to let his fans down.” More
The ravishing actress Kangna Ranaut is most likely to grab the lead role in Shivanna’s much awaited Jogaiah. Ever since the launch of this much hyped 100th film of Shivarajkumar, many names were mentioned as the heroine; Rani Mukerjee, Amrita Rao, Nayantara and many others were on the list.
Now it is said that Kangna Ranaut of Fashion and Once upon a time fame will be the heroine. There are other conflicting reports that Prachi Desai of Rock on fame will be the chosen one. Shooting for the film is likely to begin on August 16, 2010 and will be completed in 70 days. The major portions will be shot in Karnataka and Mumbai.
According to sources, Shivanna will be seen in many avatars in this film. Sources say that an important politician will also play a major role in the film. Jogaiah, to be directed by Prem, is produced by Prem and his wife Rakshita. Source
The slick appeal of the Ajay Devgn- and Emraan Hashmi-starrer retro era underworld saga ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’ managed to bring back the queues and the ‘House Full’ board at the ticket counters this weekend.
”Once Upon…’ has been rocking on the screens in terms of numbers. It has had the biggest opening overseas ever, especially in Dubai, for any Ajay Devgn- or Emraan Hashmi-starrer,’ Sunny Khanna, senior vice president, Balaji Motion Pictures, told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
‘It has even had the biggest opening in terms of a Diwali release, like last year’s ‘All The Best’ that had Ajay and Sanjay Dutt,’ he added.
Trade sources claim the movie has grossed over Rs.30 crore (Rs.300 million) in the domestic market in its initial run and is expected to touch the Rs.75 crore gross mark in its overall run worldwide. In the Middle-East, ‘Once Upon…’ grossed around AED 1 million (close to Rs.13 million) in Dubai in four days (as movies release on Thursdays there). More
Kangana Ranaut recently got a tattoo at the nape of her neck. What does this design symbolize? “There is no message behind it,” she elaborates, “It’s just a good visual. Earlier, I did plan a lot of things – like I thought I will get some script written or words from the Gita. Had a few more ideas in mind, but all of them wouldn’t make for a good visual, so I went for this one finally. There is no agenda or something very intelligent behind this design.
It’s just a pair of wings…” Do wings indicate breaking free? “No. They are angel wings, I hope it’s a good omen,” she smiles. Any particular reason for it being at the nape of her neck? “I would love to flaunt a few stars on my neck (in the front, she meant). But as an actor, one has to keep in mind that one will need to hide it on screen and that is not possible all the time. Generally, we have our hair let loose and this part can be easily covered while shooting. This is the safest place,” says Kangna Ranaut.
She has walked the ramp many times, yet it’s not a great feeling for her all the time. “I just don’t like the feeling of walking the ramp. I feel so terrible ’coz of my stage fright. Even if I have to say two lines on stage, I feel terrified. And the ramp is no different from the stage.” Stage fright after four years of being on screen? “I’m a very weird person; I am very shy too. Sometimes anything can make me nervous. If I have done 20 ramp shows so far, I’am sure there have been four to five times when I didn’t feel nervous at all. But during the rest, anything could make me nervous – even a glimpse of the crowd is enough.” More
Salman Khan will soon be seen in action opposite Kangna Ranaut in his maiden production, to be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. It seems that the year 2010 has been extremely favourable for Kangna as she has got a lot of films in her kitty. She is paired opposite Ajay Devgn in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’, has just signed Sanjay Dutt production’s ‘Rascals’ and is all set to act opposite Salman Khan.
Talking to a news daily, a well placed source confirmed that Salman will be playing lead opposite Kangna in a Mahesh Manjrekar film. However, instead of casting Katrina Kaif, Salman has finally settled for Kangna.
Speaking about Salman’s preference for Kangna, the source said, “Salman and Manjrekar wanted someone who could emote very strongly and look glamorous too.”
Meanwhile, when contacted Mahesh Manjrekar, the director confirmed the reports and said, “The film will have a lot of elements. It will be a hard-hitting film with its fair share of comedy,” More
Kangna Ranaut cannot stop praising the queen of the 70′s – Zeenat Aman. For her role in the film ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, Kangna did an extensive research on Zeenat Aman before portraying the role. According to Kangna Ranaut, the charisma of Zeenat Aman was inescapable every time she saw her film.
It must be recalled that Kangna is playing a role that borders on the popularity of Zeenat Aman during her peak days.
Speaking about the era of the seventies, the actress says, “What I noticed while playing my character in the film was the fact that the heroine of the seventies took half an hour to get dressed and more than two hours to style her hair.”
Though Kangna cannot stop praising the retro time for its style, but at the moment her concern is that the audiences accept and appreciate her in the retro look. Source
Bollywood beauty Kangna Ranaut would soon be seen in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI. Meanwhile she has already completed shooting for TANU WEDS MANU – a light hearted entertainer with Madhavan and Jimmy Shergill. Also, her biggie NO PROBLEM, a complete laugh riot directed by Anees Bazmee, is all set for 3rd December release. After a spate of tough dramatic roles, has it been a conscious call on Kangna’s part to be working predominantly in light hearted films now?
“See, I do movies for people who like my work and entertain them accordingly. I did what came to me”, says Kangna who has many other films lined up for release, “Of course I would love to do all kind of cinema. However, I also have to play those characters that people want. Off late, I have been getting a lot of fan mails and I could gauge from there that they wanted to see me in comic roles. This is why my newer crop of films has a strong comic element to them.”
A year and a half back, Kangna Ranaut was riding with a hat trick of successful films in the form of RAAZ – THE MYSTERY CONTINUES, FASHION and LIFE IN A METRO. Then came a couple of special appearances in VAADA RAHA… I PROMISE and KITES that threatened to pull her back to an extent. This was the time when she not just signed NO PROBLEM and TANU WEDS MANU but also ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, KNOCK OUT and GAME. Doesn’t Kangna feel that her films could have been spaced out a little better? More
The seductive actress Kangana Ranaut says she has surprisingly found a lot of common things between herself and actor Ajay Devgn.
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut says she has surprisingly found a lot of common things between herself and actor Ajay Devgn.
“He (Ajay Devgn) is a superstar and a veteran actor for men and the best thing is that I can relate to him in so many ways. He is an Aries and I am an Aries too, he doesn’t like to talk much neither do I. He is a national award winner and I too can proudly say that I too have one in my kitty,” said Kangana.

According to Kangna Ranaut, her new curves are not the result of anything surgical but only the outcome of having put on seven kilos overall.
Reacting to a photo feature Full and Final, Kangna clarified, “Not only my breasts but everything has miraculously expanded as I have gained seven kilos. I plan to lose all of it though people actually like me fuller and everyone has been complimenting me though I think it makes me look older than I am.”
On second thoughts, she added, “It’s crazy, but every single person loves me fat. And honestly, I secretly like it too which is probably why I haven’t started gym and yoga yet. But really, on screen, my hollow cheeks look better and in fact, it is important they be that way.”
Some months ago, Kangna had dismissed her fuller lips as a result of eating prawns. Now her obvious enhancements are part of weight gain. If it is the additional seven kilos that are responsible, obviously most of the seven have gone to one part of her anatomy only. Source
If it weren’t for a failed exam, Kangna Ranaut wouldn’t be breaking a million hearts; she’d be medically treating them.
If only, the Himachali belle’s first film was called Doctor, not Gangster, it would have been oddly autobiographical, for in real life the actress wished to practise medicine. An out-and-out geek, Kangna was a student of Science in thick glasses, swamped with laws of physics and happily so. Not even remotely interested in a sport or an extra curricular activity, she would mostly be seen lost in her books.
“I was brought up being told that medicine was a noble choice of career, that I should grow up and be a doctor so I could treat the poor for free. I believed in that, wholeheartedly because that’s how kids in those days were trained to ‘be good and do good’” says Kangna. And luck too was on her side as she aced all her exams in school. Until she failed one Chemistry unit test in 12th standard. “I was made to stand outside my class and that’s where I started thinking differently.” Source
Rakesh Roshan’s KITES is certainly one of the most anticipated and awaited films of the year. Not only will the audience get to see their favourite super hero Hrithik Roshan after a gap of almost two years but this time around he is paired opposite the hot and sensuously beautiful Spanish starlet, Barbara Mori, which makes KITES a hot proposition, literally speaking!
However, not much is being written about our own National Award winner, Kangna Ranaut, who is also essaying an important character in the film, nor has she been seen in the promos that are out on various channels and portals. So, what does our Himachal beauty thinks about KITES?
Well, Kangna is honest enough to admit that her role in KITES is a short one, but says that it is very important to the narrative and adds that she is extremely happy to be a part of such a prestigious, international project. She also proclaims that KITES will be a trend setter; as it has the complete look and feel of a Hollywood project, like (for example) its technical aspects which are as superior as any Hollywood film. Certainly Kangna this sure reflects in the promos and trailers of KITES which seem to be getting hotter with each passing day! Source
