“I’m directing a film in mid-2009. There is no role for Kajol in my next film. The leading lady’s role in that film doesn’t suit her,” Devgan said. Kajol and Ajay was liked by the audience in U Me Aur Hum and Ajay as a director was appreciated.

Ajay who is away from action film for a long said, “My next film as a director would be an action film with an undercurrent of dark humour. Even Milan Luthria’s film that I’m acting in is an action film. I believe audiences want to see me back in action. In fact when I made my entry balanced between two speeding cars in Golmaal Returns people immediately remembered my entry in my first film Phool Aur Kante. The action in my directorial venture will be something unusual.” How difficult is it to perform stunts, Ajay said, “Action scenes have become much safer now. Earlier we had to do it all by ourselves. Now when you jump from the fifth floor you’re harnessed. Earlier you just did it, or didn’t.”

Sizzling divas Kareena Kapoor and Kajol will be seen together again for an upcoming Karan Johar production which is inspired by the Hollywood hit ‘Stepmom’.  Even though the film is yet to go on the floors, the two actresses have begun bonding like best friends. Kajol, who loves reading books and is a literary inclined person, has reportedly started suggesting some books to Kareena. May be Kareena can also start teaching her fitness mantra to Kajol.

Kareena is even quoted as saying that Kajol is “more than a best friend” and a source of “inspiration” for her. Kareena admits she has always admired Kajol and has developed a lovely relation with her of late. In fact, Bebo also wants to be a part of celebrations when Kajol’s movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge makes a world record for running 750 weeks at Maratha Mandir, Mumbai.

In the Hindi version of ‘Stepmom’, Kareena will essay the character of Julia Roberts. The movie will be directed by newcomer Siddharth Malhotra, who is the producer of Tele-serial ‘Sanjeevani’. Johar has reportedly bought the remake rights of the Hollywood movie. Source

The charismatic Kajol Devgan is charging a whopping 2.5 crores for her role in My Name Is Khan opposite Shah Rukh Khan. This puts her in the same class as Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. “Even though Kajol and Karan Johar, the director, are friends, they have a very professional approach towards work,” says a source, “Karan was willing to pay Kajol her full market price.”

It’s also being said that Kajol will do a cameo role in Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots. The two worked together on Fanaa. Kajol also has two other productions lined up – the first being a live action animation with husband Ajay Devgan called Toonpur Ka Superhero. The second is the intriguing Koochie Koochie Hota Hai – an animated version of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. It will also have the voice of Shah Rukh Khan.

Kajol and SRK will be filming in Mumbai from March to May for My Name is Khan and then they return to LA in June for the final slice of filming. The film is scheduled for release later in the year and may well be in competition with Aamir’s 3 Idiots. Source

Kajol is presently shooting for Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan in Los Angeles,but no-one knows of the hungama that took place at the international airport on the night of her departure from Mumbai, to join the crew of Karan Johar’s film.

The actress was scheduled to leave the city on January 5 with her daughter Nysa, mother Tanuja and sister Tanishaa. But when the four reached immigration, the officials refused to let Nysa through as she didn’t have a valid US visa!

Kajol refused to board the flight without her daughter. Says a source close to the actress, “Kajol dotes on Nysa and she hasn’t spent even a day away from her. She was in tears when she realised about the visa goof-up. She couldn’t leave her daughter behind; even Ajay wasn’t in Mumbai”. Karan panicked when Kajol called him to request him to let her delay her arrival. An adamant Karan told the actress that she had to board the flight, no matter what. He had to shoot scenes with her and SRK on January 7, and there was no way that he could postpone the shoot.

The actress pleaded with Karan to give her 24 hours to work out a solution. The director finally relented. The atmosphere on the sets in LA was tense, when they learned about the delay in the actress’ plan. The following day, Kajol got in touch with Karan’s office, who began working on Nysa’s visa, There was a further change in plans. Kajol would go to LA, accompanied by her mom. She requested her sister Tanishaa would stay back with Nysa. So while Kajol reached LA on the 7th, her daughter and sister finally left Mumbai on January 13.  

Kajol’s husband Ajay confirms, “It was our mistake. We should have checked Nysa’s passport to see if she had a proper US visa. Karan had left it to us to update Nysa’s visa, we assumed she had a 10-year- visa like Kajol and myself. When Kajol went to the airport they discovered Nysa didn’t have it. Kajol was very upset but stayed back for a day to sort out the matter while Tanishaa was with Nysa till she got her visa and joined Kajol five days later.”

Kajol and Ajay Devgan were at the Airtel Delhi Half-marathon yesterday. CNN-IBN’s Shambhavai Rai spoke to them to find out what moved them to join in.

Kajol Devgan: It is about getting people together regardless of what caste you are, what creed you are. You don’t really look at the person running next to you and that’s the best thing about the marathon. It is about unity and coming together.

Shambhavai Rai: What do you feel about people saying Delhi is unsafe in the wake of recent blasts? The collective spirit seems to defy that notion completely. What do you have to say regarding that?

Ajay Devgan: It is not the people of Delhi or India. It is a small section of people who are trying to create problems. I think we need to do something about it. We need to come together and tackle the situation. While the administrations are doing their bit, its always us who have to come together. Source

The favourite of all, Kajol may have agreed to do buddy Karan Johar’s next opposite Shah Rukh Khan, but she definitely made sure that she pout across all her conditions and he agreed to them. The actress has been known to turn down projects because she would have to spend too much time away from her daughter.

It seems that Kajol is more interested playing her real life role of mother to perfection than any reel life character. It seems that the actress has requested Karan not to shoot for more than 20 days at a stretch overseas. The actress does not want to be away from home for too long a period because of daughter Nysa. Quite a major portion of the shooting for Johar’s My Name Is Khan is going to be shot in the States. She has also requested that all the indoor sequence be shot as far as possible in Mumbai itself.

This way she can spend maximum time with her daughter. Another reason is that hubby Ajay Devgan too is very busy currently to be able to share the burden of taking care of their daughter. One will remember that it took some persuasion for Kajol to agree to do the film. But Johar too was quite persistent as he wanted to bring his two favorites SRK and Kajol together on screen again. The official function to announce the appointment of Kajol as the goodwill ambassador was attended by Mr.Shiv Shankar Mukherjee- Indian High Commissioner to U.K, Borris Johnson-Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone-Former mayor of London, Navnit Dholakia –Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords etc.

Till now around 3500 children of widows from India have benefited from the help they received from Loomba Trust which will be soon extending its activities to Nepal, Sri Lanka and South Africa. Source

Bollywood’s darling actress Kajol, who denied the offer when Kamal Haasan approached her for ‘Mumbai Express’ earlier, has reportedly agreed to act in ‘Marmayogi’. She however has come up with certain terms and conditions.

The first thing Kajol has demanded is that she would not come to any location outside of India as she has to take care of her daughter. Another important condition the actress has voiced is that she should be allowed to go home daily.

Following this, sources say Kamal is in a dilemma whether to hire Kajol for the project or not. According to them some of the scenes of ‘Marmayogi’ are to be shot at Switzerland. Source

Its been a long time since Kajol is keeping good friend and filmmaker Karan Johar in suspense over doing his film ‘My Name Is Khan’. Johar wants to repeat the successful jodi of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and his own films Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in his next directorial venture Khan .

While Karan has already finalized his best buddy Shahrukh Khan to play the lead role in the film, he approached Kajol for the female lead some months back, without getting any confirmed response from the actress. Despite the fact that Kajol and Johar are good friends, Kajol has hesitated to sign the film because she said she wants to go through the script fully before taking a call.

Earlier, during the release of her last film U Me Aur Hum , when Kajol was asked in an interview about the status of Karan’s film, she said: “I know Karan is a friend enough to give me an option of saying no if I want to.” But now, latest reports from Bollywood have it that Kajol has finally said yes to the project. However, there has been no confirmation of this either by the actress or by Johar so far.

‘My Name Is Khan’ is partly based on the real story of a couple in the US. The film is reportedly about an autistic Muslim man who becomes a terror suspect in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US. Source
