Actress Anushka Sharma who is fondly known as Yash Raj Films camp’s favourite girl will be apparently signing Raj Kumar Hirani’s next directorial venture PEEKAY. According to the media reports, Anushka Sharma and Hirani had a couple of meetings probably regarding the film.

Speculations are also doing the rounds that Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan will be playing the male lead in PEEKAY.

Initially, there was also a buzz about the filmmaker signing actor Ranbir Kapoor for the role as Aamir was committed to other films and had no dates. Source

The red carpet was shinning with the bright Bollywood ladies, who took fancy to elaborate gowns, blingy saris and elegant anarkalis for the event. Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone stole the limelight with their gorgeous gowns and make-up. It’s hard to believe that she is considered talented but not that beautiful. Anushka Sharma did come across such directors before Band Baaja Baaraat who said on her face that they are looking for an actress who is “stunningly beautiful” and that she didn’t look the part. Was she hurt?

While talking to a news magazine, Anushka reveals how the pressure of looking good doesn’t trouble her anymore. Yes, she was speechless when the Yash Chopra new film’s press release said that the film stars Shahrukh Khan with the “very beautiful” Katrina Kaif and the “very talented” Anushka Sharma.

“I didn’t know how to react when I read that. I didn’t know whether I should be happy that I’m talented or be sad that I’m not beautiful. I remember having this conversation with my father. Although a good to decent opening was very much on the cards and was predicted by most trade pundits yet Yash Raj Films’ LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL opened to a dull to average response at the box-office. This came as quite a surprise to many who were expecting the film to open much better. But when we think logically the under-performance of the Ranveer-Anushka starrer does not come as a shock, especially if we compare it to the teams’ first film together, BAND BAAJA BAARAAT. And here is why!

First of all while the characters of the lead actors Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in BAND BAAJA BAARAAT were very identifiable and rooted and was a source of inspiration to many struggling youths, the casting of Ranveer Singh as a Casanova (especially because of his boy-next-door looks) and Anushka Sharma as a hot and sexy con-woman did not have many takers, nor was it in any way identifiable.

Quite similarly the story of BAND BAAJA BAARAAT was very inspirational and was humorously depicted as well as identifiable, but there was not much to identify from the story idea of LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL, especially because it had one man conning many women and not the other way around! More

Promotions for YRF’s upcoming film Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl are in full swing. Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh recently shot with Amitabh Bachchan for Kaun Banega Crorepati 5.

‘Had the lovely and bubbly Anushka and Ranveer on set today ..! Such charm and energy and chemistry ..great to be with them !!’ Bachchan tweeted.

‘PHEW !! Just back from KBC shoot .. a long day .. the penultimate .. tomorrow is the last day for this season .. alas ..! Tomorrow morning have to leave for work at 6 am !! last day of shoot for KBC .. its been a marvelous season this time ..TRP of 8 !!’ he added.

The Badmaash Company leading lady Anushka Sharma definitely seems to be giving away vibes of being engaged. The preety lady was freshly spotted at a Juhu multiplex, where she turned up to catch a movie with a few friends and family. It might come to you as a surprise but Anushka Sharma is being questioned at the Mumbai airport for not declaring goods in her luggage that may have qualified for duty.

Sources say that while Anushka had listed the items while leaving India, she failed to enumerate them on her return from Toronto, Canada, where she had gone to attend the IIFA awards ceremony.

Anushka’s manager claimed that the Band Baaja Baraat actress was held up by the customs officials to complete formal paperwork required for her borrowed accessories. Source
