Naomi Watts salutes Vivek Oberoi

Hollywood actress Naomi Watts has written an appreciation letter to Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi for his contribution towards rehabilitating Tsunami hit families in Indian sub-continent.

Vivek had adopted a village in Tamil Nadu named Thevanapattinam in 2004. Watts, who portrays the role of a Tsunami survivor in her latest film The Impossible, was deeply moved when she heard about Vivek’s involvement in providing welfare for these families.

In the letter, Watts wrote, “Words really fail to express how touched I am to see the work you have done for the rehabilitation of the Tsunami-hit families in Thevanapattinam, Tamil Nadu. It takes a lot of courage and immense devotion to be able to take up such a responsibility on one’s shoulders.

“As a celebrity it is important for us to realize that we can act as catalysts for change but unfortunately few take any real measures. Your effort to bridge this gap deserves appreciation from all quarters,” Watts said. The 44-year-old actress, whose latest film The Impossible, is based on true incidents, says she came close to the pain of the disaster victims while working on the film.”While filming some of the scenes of The Impossible, I came close to realizing the unimaginable grief and pain the families must have gone through in December 2004 when the Tsunami hit their shores.

I shudder to think about the void it must have created in the lives of people who faced personal losses.”I salute you on behalf of the entire team of The Impossible for adopting Thevanapattinam and providing relief work to the Tsunami victims. May your unremitting endeavour in the service of humankind go on with undiminished vigour,” she added.

Vivek Oberoi Gives Break To Music Director Duo

Way back in 1998, Salman Khan took a step that struck a high note, in terms of tunes, that is. The irrepressible Khan gave a break to composer duo Sajid-Wajid with Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.

Now 14 years later, the duo’s nephews Amjad-Nadeem have been roped in to compose music for Vivek Oberoi’s Zilla Ghaziabad and Kismat Luv Paisa Dilli (KLPD), that too at the actor’s insistence. Lyricist Shabbir Ahmed has been roped in as well to pen the songs.

A source close to the actor says, “Vivek was very impressed when he heard Amjad-Nadeem’s songs. He asked them to compose a few more songs and when he heard those as well, he decided to help them bag their first project.

Vivek, who at present is shooting for KLPD, produced by Amit Chandrra and Krishan Chaudhary of Delhi-based Shrishti Cine Entertainment confirms, “Yes, Amjad-Nadeem are composing music for KLPD and Zilla Ghaziabad. They are really talented and if I have the means to promote new talent then why not?” More

Vivek Oberoi Is Looking To Shift In Delhi

Vivek Oberoi is house hunting in Delhi. The actor wants to move to the Capital with his family for two months starting January, while he is shooting here for Sanjay Khanduri’s Kismat Love Paisa Dilli (KLPD) with Mallika Sherawat.

Oberoi, who plays a Delhiite in the film, wants to spend the long shooting schedule with his family and has thus decided to ditch a hotel for a house, where he will put up with his parents and wife Priyanka.

A source close to Oberoi says, “Vivek likes ghar ka khana, so a hotel wasn’t good. His representatives are looking for a house in Delhi that can accommodate the entire family comfortably and serves as a yearly vacation pad.” Source

Mallika Sherawat & Vivek Oberoi In KLPD

Its official, Mallika Sherawat has been signed opposite Vivek Oberoi in Amit Chandrra’s KISMAT LOVE PAISA DILLI (KLPD). Incidentally the film has been in the headlines off late as it was taken to be the sequel to the Director Sanjay Khanduri’s 2007 sleeper hit EK CHALLIS KI LAST LOCAL, with the name GYARAH CHALLIS KI LAST METRO doing the rounds. However the most interesting facet of the development of this film is the signing of Mallika Sherawat.

The source also goes onto add that when Sanjay and Amit approached Mallika with the script of KLPD that had the actress playing a parallel lead to the actor, Mallika readily agreed to do the film as she felt the role was too good to let go off and was excited to play a content driven lead, which she hasn’t done ever since PYAR KE SIDE EFFECTS, in which her performance was highly appreciated. Vivek Oberoi’s Dedication In His Upcoming Flicks

Seems like replacing Abhay Deol with Vivek Oberoi is already paying rich dividends for the makers of Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro, which would be directed by Sanjay Khanduri and produced by Amit Chandra of Invincible Entertainment.

The actor has been winning the crew’s hearts with his passion and dedication for his work. One such incident has been disclosed to us by a source close to the production team, apparently one of the crucial and hilarious scenes in the film require the protagonist to strip down to his boxers to save his life. Not only that, even the boxers will end up being ripped out and the character will end up revealing considerable amount of skin.

Moreover, the scene will be shot in the midst of college going students in a Delhi Hostel, and not on a set with actors. This is unlike many other films where there is only a limited crew allowed on set for scenes like these as they might make an actor uncomfortable to perform. More

Its The Reign Of Back To Back Villains In Bollywood

With ‘masala’ films and remakes back in a strong way, the villains too are back to make Hindi films spicier and more thrilling. Names like GHAJINI, WANTED, SINGHAM and MURDER 2 saw the return to screen of powerful villains who during yesteryears made life hell for the hero and the climax a nail biting affair.

If we look at recent trends Prakash Raj, with back-to-back award winning scene stealing acts in WANTED, BBUDDAH… HOGA TERRA BAAP and SINGHAM, deserves a mention as he can rightly be called an all time entertaining villain, almost in the league of greats like Amjad Khan, Pran and Amrish Puri, though he still has a long way to go and prove himself in films other than South remakes.

In fact the Bhatts who have always provided Bollywood with able and apt villains like Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover etc. went a step further with Prashant Narayan in MURDER 2. And this is not it as we have many more memorable performances coming up. More

Vivek Oberoi In Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro

While official confirmation has come in that Vivek Oberoi is the central protagonist of GYARAH CHALIS KI LAST METRO, what hasn’t been spoken about yet is the look of the film. Apparently between director Sanjay Khanduri and Vivek, it has been finalised that not just would the sequel carry an entirely different mood and look when compared to Abhay Deol’s EK CHALIS KI LAST LOCAL, it would also have quite some glitz and glamour attached to the proceedings, something that wasn’t the case in 2007 release.

‘EK CHALIS… was a gripping thriller but it was more in a dark comedy mode. Also since the film was shot in Mumbai local trains and then got into dingy by-lanes of the city, there was an overall dark mood that had prevailed,’ informs a source, ‘On the other hand Vivek’s sequel would be set differently. Since there is a lot of money riding on him and the film, it would have to be much richer looking. Not just would the glitz of Delhi Metro add on to the film’s narrative, even otherwise it would be ensured that it doesn’t come across as an overtly dark film.’ More
