Both Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor have now moved on in life after their long relationship. Though Shahid always remained tight-lipped as what went wrong in their relationship, he revealed that Kareena Kapoor had been his support system.

It was Farah Khan who made Shahid to speak about his past relationship with Kareena Kapoor on the chat show, ‘Tere Mere Beech Mein’. Talking about dating Bebo, he says, “I was already knowing that she was Raj Kapoor’s grand-daughter, her sister was Karisma Kapoor. I had danced behind Karisma in “Dil to Pagal hai” even I knew that this will be a big issue.”

When Farah popped the question that whether it was his repeated flop that sour their relationship. To it Shahid responded, “She had become my support system. I think emotionally also that she had become my support system, so there was no chance like that. The real things in life is relationship only, success and failure when comes and goes we didn’t remembers. We all are aware of the fact that Shahid Kapoor has bagged kudos for his outstanding performance in the latest hit “Kaminey“, but Shahid says he can never match his father Pankaj Kapoor when it comes to acting.

“I can never be like my father (in terms of acting)…he is way beyond anyone to be like him. I don’t even have any aspirations to be like him because I know that’s not happening. I just hope whenever my father sees my films, he likes my work,” Shahid said.

Ace director Vishal Bharadwaj’s dark thriller Kaminey has turned out to be a goldmine, earning about Rs.330 million in its first weekend at the box office. Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, the fast-paced crime drama, released on Friday, has made good business despite the fact that it wasn’t released in major cities of Maharashtra the same day due to swine flu scare.

Kaminey was released worldwide with 1,200 prints and it hit theatres in Maharashtra Monday.

“The film has surpassed all expectations with the kind of business it did in the first weekend of its release and critical acclaim that it has generated in India and around the world,” said Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures.

“The success of Kaminey is testament to what can be achieved when you bring together a visionary director, talented cast and crew, compelling script, great production values, aggressive marketing and sound distribution strategy,” added Kapur. More

The most awaited movie Kaminey, the music of which is high on the popularity charts currently, owes its success of the Dhan te nan song to Vishal Bharadwaj, Shahid Kapoor and choreographer Ahmed Khan. The song, a disco number that has been picturised on Shahid and theatre actor Chandan Sanyal, hasn’t been choreographed. The actors have come up with their own moves for the song.

Ahmed confirmed the news and said, “We wanted to shoot this high energy song in a different way, very unlike a typical disco number. I have earlier choreographed the songs Kallu mama and Sapne mein milti hai in Satya, which Vishal had written. There were no rehearsed moves and the actors were free to interpret it, keeping the mood of the song in mind. We felt the same would work with Dhan te nan. The song has the actors doing their own thing except one choreographed move, where Shahid shouts at the top of his voice saying, Dhan te nan.”

Director Vishal Bharadwaj was only too happy to go along with the idea of spontaneity. He elaborated, “Yes, we decided to capture the spontaneity that we saw in Kallu mama and Kudi mere sapne mein milti hai. However, I wanted one signature step from Ahmed. The move was like the fight scene between the hero and villain, straight out of the 1970s and 1980s. It involves punching the air and I loved it. The song has a retro feel and has been picturised in a pub where Shahid and Chandan lip-sync the song being played in the background.”

He has certainly grown up in the industry now. Shahid Kapur ditched Priyanka Chopra, but by giving the press meet of their upcoming film Kaminaay a miss at the IIFAs in Macau.

Shahid who was to attend the press conference with his co-star Priyanka Chopra and director Vishal Bharadwaj failed to turn up and the meet was cancelled much to the surprise of all those gathered.

Earlier the actor was to perform for the numbers from the film along with Priyanka to promote their film. However, Priyanka withdrew from the performance and later Shahid backed out too. A section of the media reported that the duo were dating and personal problems resulted in their withdrawal from the awards. However, Shahid Kapur has claimed professional commitments and Priyanka will attend the awards, though not perform at the awards. Well we wonder what’s the equation here is? The chocolate boy Shahid Kapur seems to have become Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) favourite. His first venture with the production giant is yet to hit the screens, but the actor has already signed another film with the banner.

Shahid’s first film with YRF is being directed by Anurag Singh. He has teamed up with Rani Mukerji in the film, which was earlier titled Hadippa, which is said to be about cricket.

The second project that Shahid has been signed up for will be actor Parmeet Sethi’s directorial debut and he teams up with Anushka Sharma of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi fame.

Says the film’s director Satish Kaushik, “Yes,we have re-shot portions of Milenge Milenge in Delhi. The entire film is set in Delhi, just like my other hit film Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai with Kareena. In fact I was supposed to do another film with Kareena(Dil Chor with Abhishek Bachchan) for Boney. Instead we did Milenge Milenge.”
