The chocolate boy Shahid Kapur seems to have become Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) favourite. His first venture with the production giant is yet to hit the screens, but the actor has already signed another film with the banner.

Shahid’s first film with YRF is being directed by Anurag Singh. He has teamed up with Rani Mukerji in the film, which was earlier titled Hadippa, which is said to be about cricket.

The second project that Shahid has been signed up for will be actor Parmeet Sethi’s directorial debut and he teams up with Anushka Sharma of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi fame.

“The Yash Raj camp sees Shahid as the classic romantic hero who has the potential to turn on the sexy or rugged vibe when required,” said a source close to the actor. Source

Abbas-Mustan’s Rumi Jaffery directed ‘Life Partner, is a fun entertainer which stars Govinda, Tusshar Kapoor and Fardeen Khan as the male leads. Playing thick friends in the film, the trio is seen to be having distinct views about the institution of marriage.

Even though he along with Govinda carry an image of being primarily comic stars, Tusshar insists that ‘Life Partner’ is not a regular comedy film in the offering. “Instead I would want to call it as a ‘romantic musical social entertainer’ with a touch of comedy to it”, says Tusshar,

For Tusshar, ‘Life Partner’ would be his next release after a super successful ‘Golmaal Returns’ that had released last year. Even though this film too follows a pucca commercial route, Tusshar asserts that the film has ample moments that would be pretty much identifiable for the common man. Source

Oscar nominated producer Aamir Khan will be paired opposite Oscar winner Kate Winslet in a film to be directed by Pan Nalin. The director is in talk with the stars and he will work on the film after getting nod from Aamir Khan and Kate Winslet. The story is an adaptation of legendary Pakistani playwright Saadat Hasan Manto`s short story ‘Toba Tek Singh’ which speaks about the comic situation inside an Indian mental asylum in 1947, when India and Pakistan were being created.

Pan Nalin has two names in his mind. If Kate opts out then he will enroll Rachel Weisz for playing the role of Dr Sophie. Confirming the news, Nalin said “Either Kate or Rachel will be doing my film. I will be meeting both of them after my Cannes trip to finalise the casting. Either of them will be able to do justice to this marvelous story.” Pan has already narrated the script to Aamir Khan and he is impressed. Aamir is keen to be a part of the movie. If Aamir signs the film then we will get to see him in the role of a lunatic in a mental asylum. If the film shape up then it will be very exciting to see Aamir playing Kate’s hero. Source

Though Ash and Abhi denies report of moving out of the Bachchans house, the duo supervises the construction whenever they get time. The construction of Ash and Salman’s new house are going on full swing and the day is not far when Salman will be called Ash’s intimate neighbor. Salman Khan has not yet named his building and it is called as plot no 83A. His bungalow is on the left while Ash-Abhi’s white bungalow Naivedya stands at the right. Interestingly, Salman’s one is little taller than Ash-Abhi’s building.

You won’t believe it but its true. Apna Akshay Kumar was arrested Monday morning by the police here in connection with obscene behaviour in public during the recent Lakme India Fashion Week (LIFW), a senior police official said.

“We arrested him under Indian Penal Code Section 294, which deals with obscenity in public. Since it is a bailable offence, he was released on bail,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Arvind Mahabadhi. During the LIFW early April, Akshay had unbuttoned his jeans, while walking the ramp, at the instance of his wife Twinkle Khanna.

The LIFW had attracted other celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Naomi Campbell, who had walked the ramp, promoting various designers. Akshay’s unbuttoning act had kicked up a storm with some private individuals lodging police complaints, accusing Akshay of immoral and indecent behaviour in public. Source
