Did anyone in India know who Barbara Mori was until the Roshans brought her over for Kites? And now after Cannes, Barbara is being recognized on an international podium.

It’s not just fame that Kites has brought Ms Mori. She also knew no English before she started shooting for Kites. But by the time the shooting concluded she could grope around the English language, thanks to Hrithik Roshan.

Apparently, Barbara and Hrithik made a pact. Hrithik would teach Barbara English and Barbara would teach him Spanish. Says Hrithik’s father Rakesh Roshan: “Barbara knew only Spanish when she started shooting for Kites. That suited us fine since her character is supposed to understand only Spanish. During shooting she needed to communicate with her co-stars and the crew. She was forced to learn English. Now she speaks just enough to make herself understood.”

During the shoot of New York, co-stars John Abraham and Katrina Kaif are said to have stayed miles away from one another and shared extremely cold vibes. As a reminder, Katrina’s now ex-beau, Salman Khan, and John Abraham are mortal enemies who do not get along at all. That said, her equation with hunky Abraham has recently changed after she and Khan recently called it quits.

Apparently, the fraternity is abuzz with the new “friendship” which has upset Salman even more, “Everyone in the industry is talking about this changed equation between Kat and John. There will surely be repercussions to this new development,” the source also informed. While Katrina and John collectively refuse to comment on their new “bond” – which is causing skeptics to believe it is nothing more than a publicity stunt for New York, a close friend to Abraham quickly spoke to their defense, “There is nothing going on between him and Katrina. He is just being targeted by someone. The truth will come out soon.”

Previously, when Katrina was linked to Ranbir Kapoor, Salman is said to have called the young Kapoor lad who quickly assured Khan of no such relationship. To his credit, Salman believed him and the topic was dropped. In the case of Katrina, she is letting the industry know that she is officially not with Salman but understands she should not “rub him in the wrong way” too if she is expected to “survive in the industry.” Source

Its a bit of disappointment for all the fans. The rumors that Madhuri Dixit will soon be starring in a new film and that her co-star will be hunky Ranbir Kapoor are totally false. The director of the supposed project, Prakash Jha, has denied the reports saying that the stories were all a fabrication.

Jha said, “It’s absurd. Logon ka kuch kaam nahin, toh they start cooking up these stories. Everyone’s talking about it. But I have no idea who spread these rumours.” The rumors came as a surprise to both Madhuri, whose manager called Jha and also too Ranbir, which Jha says, “must be running for cover.”

In fact there is no project like the one rumored in the works at all. Jha is currently working only on Rajneeti, “No. I take up one project at a time, aur ek project ko banane mein paanch saal lag jaate hain. Currently, I’m trying to wrap up Rajneeti.” Rajneeti, which is a political drama, has an all-star cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai.

So, fans will have to wait and watch and hope that Mads will grace the silver screen once again soon. Source

Oscar winner Danny Boyle has come to India to meet the child artistes for moral support, two of whom have been rendered homeless after a slum clearance drive by authorities in Mumbai. On Tuesday May 26, he even hosted a party for the select members of team Slumdog at JW Marriott, Mumbai. But if sources are to be believed, this was not his sole purpose of visiting the country.

The same day before the party, Boyle visited Aamir Khan to discuss a new project. Sources reveal, “Aamir is back in Mumbai from his vacation in the US and is planning to fly back again for a few weeks more. And Boyle didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity to meet the star.”

Reportedly, Danny had expressed his wish to work with Aamir when he had come during the premiere of Slumdog Millionaire in India. This meeting between the two seems to be the next step towards it. Danny has also given a script to Aamir for deliberation. Source

Bollywood twin divas Karisma and Kareena Kapoor will kick off the second season of Salman Khan-hosted quiz show “Dus Ka Dum”, which will go on air Saturday on Sony channel. According to a source from the unit, on the show Salman points out the contrast between Karisma and Kareena’s personalities.

“Salman said, ‘If Karisma was not an actress she would have been a nun’,” said the source in a press statement. While Karisma teamed up with Salman in films like “Andaaz Apna Apna”, “Jeet”, “Dulhan Hum Le Jaayenge” apart from others, Kareena did “Kyon Ki…” with him and their next film together is “Mr. & Mrs.Khanna”. Salman Khan finally lost his patience and has taken the final stand regarding his so called girlfriend Katrina Kaif. To everyone’s surprise, he threw one by one all Katrina’s belongings from his apartment before leaving for London for ‘Veer’. In the initial stage of her career, Kat used to visit Sallu’s house very often and had put up lots of her belongings there. And now when Katrina has repeatedly broken Salman’s heart, he decided to throw her out from his memories.  

After repeated proposal, when Kat refused to give her consent, Sallu turned atrocious. Kat thinks that she is on the peak stage of her career and marriage at this stage will nothing but damage her future. The couple had broken up under various issues. Earlier Kat used to discuss with Sallu before signing any film but now she has become her own boss and does not bother to take his suggestion. Kat’s alleged relationship with her co-stars Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor had further damage their relationship.

But what spoiled their relationship more is Kat’s frequent refusal of Salman’s marriage proposal. Source

The bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan is one such actor in Bollywood who has tried his hand in variety of roles and has also been successful in his effort. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’, he is all set to play a paraplegic patient.

Hrithik as a patient will be seen in wheelchair mostly with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan nursing him. A source reveals, “Hrithik plays Ethan, a radio show host. Aishwarya plays a married nurse who is also Hrithik’s caregiver. The film also deals with the controversial subject of mercy killing/euthanasia. Ash’s character is interesting because she plays a married woman who gets attracted to Hrithik as the second half progresses. The film has dark tones throughout.”

Hrithik is quite excited about his role as it is altogether different from what he has performed earlier. To bring perfection to his character, he is researching the character and meeting Bhansali to understand his role in a better way. The film will completely change his image and audience will get to see a new Hrithik Roshan. Source

Audiences have accepted me in villainous role then why not continue the old trend again, this is the call of Shahrukh Khan’s heart who is all set to revive his old image and perform an anti-hero act in Dhoom3. If on one hand, with this film, he will try to get out of his lover boy image then on the other hand, he will save the Yash Raj banner from getting drowned as YRF has not seen success from long period.

After the super success of Dhoom and Dhoom 2, YRF camp is making a sequel to it and has roped in SRK to play the role of villain. Looking at the last two flicks, we can assess the importance of the role of a villain in the film. When Yash Raj approached King Khan, he readily agreed.

For a long time, Yash Raj fail to give a hit. Their last two flicks that faired well at the box office starred Shahrukh Khan. So when they are going through tough luck, Shahrukh has thought to rescue the banner which have given him stardom. The last two flicks of ‘Dhoom’ has been directed by director Sanjay Gadhvi but after the fall out, speculation is rife that Aditya Chopra will himself direct the movie. Source

The chocolate boy Shahid Kapur seems to have become Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) favourite. His first venture with the production giant is yet to hit the screens, but the actor has already signed another film with the banner.

Shahid’s first film with YRF is being directed by Anurag Singh. He has teamed up with Rani Mukerji in the film, which was earlier titled Hadippa, which is said to be about cricket.

The second project that Shahid has been signed up for will be actor Parmeet Sethi’s directorial debut and he teams up with Anushka Sharma of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi fame.

“The Yash Raj camp sees Shahid as the classic romantic hero who has the potential to turn on the sexy or rugged vibe when required,” said a source close to the actor. Source

Abbas-Mustan’s Rumi Jaffery directed ‘Life Partner, is a fun entertainer which stars Govinda, Tusshar Kapoor and Fardeen Khan as the male leads. Playing thick friends in the film, the trio is seen to be having distinct views about the institution of marriage.

Even though he along with Govinda carry an image of being primarily comic stars, Tusshar insists that ‘Life Partner’ is not a regular comedy film in the offering. “Instead I would want to call it as a ‘romantic musical social entertainer’ with a touch of comedy to it”, says Tusshar,

For Tusshar, ‘Life Partner’ would be his next release after a super successful ‘Golmaal Returns’ that had released last year. Even though this film too follows a pucca commercial route, Tusshar asserts that the film has ample moments that would be pretty much identifiable for the common man. Source
