Emraan Hashmi Will Romance Vidya Balan In Their Next

So The Dirty Couple are back, they are non other that Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan. They Romanced each other in The Dirty Picture and specially in the song “Tere Waasta mera Dil sufiana”. That song was liked by the audiences and Vidya and Emraan looked good together.

So they will share the silver screen in their upcoming Chanchakkar. The movie’s shooting has been advanced by the director of the movie Rajkumar Gupta.

Gupta narrated: “I had originally planned an August schedule. And Vidya, who is at the moment doing no other film, was completely one with my film’s schedule. But Emraan was busy promoting ‘Raaz 3′ in August as the film was supposed to release at the end of August.”

“But now I believe ‘Raaz 3′ has been pushed forward, so I got the window to shoot the scenes that I wanted. I guess I am just lucky.”

The idea is to shoot Vidya and Emraan on the rain-soaked streets of Mumbai with secret cameras.

That’s how Gupta had shot Rajeev Khandelwal in “Aamir”. But to shoot two popular actors like Vidya and Emraan with hidden cameras requires a lot of courage.

“I agree. But both are used to shooting in the crowded outdoors. If Vidya could brave the Kolkata crowds in ‘Kahaani’ and the Delhi crowd in my film ‘No One Killed Jessica’, then Mumbai would be a cakewalk in comparison.”

“The important thing is god has been generous. Thanks to Emraan’s reshuffled appointment diary, I’m able to shoot as and when I had originally planned,” he said.

Two male actors from theatre are being finalised for the movie too.

“We are looking at new faces from theatre and from other sources. We’ve auditioned dozens. With Vidya and Emraan in the cast, I need untried talent to balance off their huge stardom. Besides Emraan and Vidya, there are two major characters, both male, plus dozens of supporting parts.”

“We haven’t got a release date as yet. But I am hoping it would be the 8th of any month in the first quarter of 2013. You see, my first film ‘Aamir’ released on the 6th and my second film ‘No One Killed Jessica’ released on the 7th,” he said.

We will surely wait for the movie, because we know that both the actors are terrific and they look very good on screen.

Shanghai Has Crossed Its Breakeven Point

Dibakar Banerjee mentions that the film Shanghai has recovered its cost, Emraan says that SHANGHAI is his boldest film in context to its content.

Said Dibakar at the success meet, ”We spent Rs12 crore in the making and Rs 8 crore in the marketing of SHANGHAI. From Monday, we have been making profits. This was our aim and we have achieved it. It was never made to be a blockbuster though.”

Emraan says, ”In my career, SHANGHAI is the boldest film I’ve done! We’ve stepped out of the wicket and we’ve made such a film which breaks the convention! Some actors stay in the safe zone and make films for their loyal audiences, like I worked in JANNAT 2, but I really respect Dibakar for making a film like SHANGHAI.”

SHANGHAI, released on 7th June, also stars Kalki Koechlin and Abhay Deol.  Source

Shanghai – The Political Drama Leaves A Huge Impact : The Review

Much acclaimed movie Shanghai has hit the cinema halls today. Shanghai is basically a political thriller where the viewers will witness a sensuous socialism and capitalism ideologies with a strong story line.

Though, this type of movie is not new to bollywood but the expertise of Dibakar Banerjee as a director has made the film at par from the traditional political drama making it worth to watch.

Shanghai has definitely taken the bollywood movie regime to a step further with its offbeat subject and excellent show of direction and acting.

Adapted from Vasilis Vasilikos’ novel Z, Shanghai is a story of small town Bharatnagar, where the ruling party proposes an upcoming infrastructure project ahead of the elections for the development of the town and wishes to make it another Shanghai, a dream city.

Then comes respected left wing socialist and activist, Dr Ali Ahmedi (Prosenjit Chatterjee), who is opposes this project, as hundreds of families will loose their shelter due to this project unwillingly. More

Promotions Are Already On For ‘Shanghai’

Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin, Abhay Deol and director Dibakar Banerjee were in Delhi to promote Shanghai and they were able to attract huge crowds to the promotional gigs. At Shipra Mall, for instance, hundreds of fans turned up to have a dekko at the film stars. People filled in the mall, lined along the balusters and cheered the Shanghai team as the actors took the stage.

Emraan Hashmi got the maximum cheers. He wore a T-shirt that read “Proud to be dirty”. Kalki Koechlin was dressed in shorts and a white shirt, perfect for Delhi summer. Abhay Deol even had a coat on.

During their Delhi stay, the team also visited the JNU campus and had a healthy discussion with the students of the university — known for its active political ethos — on several issues related and unrelated to the film. Dibakar Banerjee even made the Shanghai team grab a bite of the JNU canteen food. Source

Jannat 2 Is Doing Well At The BO

As was quite predictable Kunal Deshmukh’s Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda and Esha Gupta starrer, JANNAT 2, has embarked on a superb start almost everywhere, barring the southern circuits. The opening is the third best bollywood flick of the year after AGNEEPATH and HOUSEFULL 2.

During the opening day JANNAT 2 has netted nearly 8.75 crore beating the total of MURDER 2 (the best ever Emraan solo) by nearly 2 crores! The latest release from the Bhatt camp is sure to be a clean hit, how big or small only time will tell!

Meanwhile last week’s big release, the Priyadarshan directed Anil-Ajay starrer, TEZZ, has been totally rejected as it barely netted 11 crores during the opening weekend. In fact TEZZ may turn out to be one of the biggest disasters of the year. Source

Jannat 2 Will Not Be Shown On TV Without Necessary Alterations

Director Kunal Deshmukh has prepared an alternate cut of Jannat 2 for TV viewing. “Jannat 2″ features Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta and Randeep Hooda. The movie is slated for release on May 4th.

Jannat 2 director Kunal Deshmukh has played it smart. While shooting the ‘A’ certificate film, he was already prepared for necessary alterations that would be required for it to be showcased on the small screen.

Otherwise, he says he wouldn’t want to see his film being murdered with several cuts by the censors.

“We do know there are some guidelines. Whether good or bad, we have to follow them. While shooting (‘Jannat 2′), we did take alternate takes for certain scenes like lovemaking and liplocks which I knew might get cut. I had to reshoot the song so that you can still follow the story,” Deshmukh told. Source

Emraan Hashmi Went Unrecognized

Actor Emraan Hashmi underwent complete makeover for Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Shanghai’ and the impact was such that actor went unrecognised.

‘Emraan has a huge fan following. Whenever he comes, people call out his name. Surprisingly no one recognised him (during the shoot of ‘Shanghai’) because Emraan sported a small paunch and buck tooth too,’ Banerjee said in a statement.

‘Shanghai’ is a political thriller, which also features Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin.

Of Emraan’s character, Banerjee said: ‘Emraan plays a small town guy, a street smart character.’

‘He is always on the lookout to make money and once in a while does sidey night shoots. If he sees a girl, he will sweet talk her into getting a photo shoot done. Actually, he is a very lovable character with tremendous depth.’

The film will release June 8. Source
