Ajay Devgn Challenges Hollywood?

Bollywood is getting ambitious. Its technicians, actors and filmmakers seem to have a shared mission. The mission is to take on Hollywood. Not only in terms of its storylines but technically too.

The man busy doing this at the moment is actor Ajay Devgan. The star has taken on upon himself to take on Hollywood with his upcoming film TOONPOOR KA SUPERRHERO.

Ajay believes that the film is in every sense no less than any Hollywood production. Talking about his film, Ajay says, “TOONPOOR KA SUPERRHERO is technically as advanced as any other top line film in Hollywood. We have made sure that the film opens a new chapter in animation industry in India and shows the world the technical craft and expertise that bollywood has achieved over the years.”

With Ajay all set to take on Hollywood single-handedly; let’s hope it’s a big victory all the way. Source

The Different Views of Kajol & Ajay Devgn

They were last seen together on screen almost three years back in Ajay Devgn’s directorial debut, U, ME AUR HUM. Now, real life jodi, Ajay and Kajol is all set to recreate their magic in the animation flick, TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO. Directed by Kireet Khurana, it is India’s first live action – 3D animation combination feature film.

Although they have done many films together, Kajol and Ajay are not on the same page when it comes to choosing films. Says Kajol, “We rarely agree on a script. So it has to be few movies every few years.” She goes on to say, “We actually don’t agree on most scripts. What he thinks of being very workable, I think them to be very boring. So it’s very rare that we both agree to do a film.”

So has the equation between Kajol and Ajay changed through the years? “The process is pretty much the same. As the years go by, you just get more comfortable. You get used to the way the other person works. It becomes more of a team spirit more than anything else,” asserts Kajol.

Quiz them about what made them do TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO and Ajay says, “TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO was a fabulous script. I would put it as a comedy film which makes you laugh throughout. In our country, till date animation films have been made which target the children. I’ve seen some with my daughter. Their humour only makes some children laugh. It doesn’t excite adults. More

Sanjay Dutt’s Love For Ajay Devgn

Bollywood has its equal share of pompous egoistic stars who think of only themselves, and those who don’t think twice before doing a close friend a favor. Time and again actors like Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt have proved that they are willing to do anything for their industry friends.

Sanjay, or Sanju baba as he is fondly called, shares a great rapport with Ajay Devgn. After doing Ajay’s All The Best, he will now be a part of Toonpoor Ka Superhero albeit as a voiceover. Krishika Lulla’s Ajay-Kajol starrer, which is to be released in December, has a character of God and the director was waiting for the right voice to act as the narrator.

Since Ajay and Sanjay were shooting together at that time, Lulla asked if Sanjay was willing to dub for the movie and he readily agreed saying “anything for Ajay”. Interestingly Sanjay had earlier played the role of the Death-God Yamraj in Shahid Kapoor’s Vaah Life Ho To Aisi. Source

Aakrosh Gets An Adult Sign From The Censor Board

It was reported earlier that film Aakrosh was stuck in censor problems as there were approximately 30 cuts that were requested within the film. Director Priyadarshan and producer Kumar Mangat, who were livid with the imposition, approached the Revising Committee.

Aakrosh, which stars Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Paresh Rawal in lead roles is based on the fictitious town of Jhanjhargaon in North India, which starts with the disappearance of three college students who go to watch the Ramleela staged in their village. A few days later, they are reported to have been killed. Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna play the two CBI officers from Delhi sent to the village to investigate the mysterious deaths. That’s when they discover a thriving nexus between police and local politicians in caste-related murders.

The latest on this, is that the film has been granted an ‘A’ certificate with just a measly five cuts by the Revising Committee, a drastic improvement from the initially asked for 30. With this new certificate, Aakrosh is all set to release on October 15. Source
