Ajay Devgn has been one of the favorite actors of B-town. He has given back to back hits nowadays so has been into limelight. Recently Sajid Khan revealed that he is going to make a remake of Jitendra’s Himmatwala in which he wants to cats Ajay Devgn, so now the movie will start asAjay Devgn said yes for the role of Jitendra. He is all set to wear the shoes of Jitendra.
“I am ready to do anything, be it action or dance… You can’t look at one department, it is a film in totality… I am looking at the whole film right now,” Ajay told reporters Wednesday.
Said Sajid Khan, director of the new version of “Himmatwala”: “Ajay’s image is action and intense oriented, but for me, he is a complete hero. He can do anything. Our film is not a take off on ‘Himmatwala’. It’s not a spoofy film.
“It is based on 1983 film ‘Himmatwala’ and it is my version of ‘Himmatwala’. You will get to see many things which were not there in ‘Himmatwala’. Actually, they are two different stories. We have taken rights officially for the film and for the two songs.”
“I will ask Jeetu-ji to do a cameo in the film. For Ajay, it is like homecoming because his dad did action for ‘Himmatwala’. This time around the action will be completely new and different.”
So lets see how will Sajid Khan present Jitu ji in ajay’s way.
The bonding of Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty has proved to be lucky for both of them. During the last couple of years, he and Rohit Shetty have collaborated to give two back to back 100 crore grossers and with BOL BACHCHAN, the trend is only expected to continue.
‘After GOLMAAL 3 and SINGHAM, Ajay has put his money on Rohit again to ensure that BOL BACHCHAN turns out to be his much needed blockbuster,’ says a source.
This is something that industry, audience and trade is also agreeing in unison since history is witness here.
”Last year for Ajay, it was Rohit’s SINGHAM that roared the loudest after TOONPUR KA SUPERHERO and DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI. A year before that it was Rohit’s GOLMAAL 3 that helped Ajay move on from AAKROSH which was critically acclaimed but not quite a money spinner,” comments a trade insider, ”Somehow Ajay and Rohit have a knack of picking good subjects and delivering crowd pleasing entertainers whenever they come together. Their ‘jodi’ is the most successful director-actor pairing today other than Sajid Khan-Akshay Kumar’s who has delivered a hat trick.” Source
Action hero Ajay Devgn reportedly had a secret affair with his Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai co-star Kangana Ranaut, according to a leading film magazine.
According to the magazine, the two actors, who were recently seen in Rascals and Tezz, had a fling in 2010 during the shoot of Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai.
If the report is true, it could explain the acrimonious falling out of the two actors. Kangana was very publicly left out of the promotions of Rascals by Ajay and Sanjay Dutt, producer of the film and close friend of it’s hero.
The report also suggests that Ajay’s wife Kajol had threatened to move out of their home with children – nine-year-old Nysa and two-year-old Yug. However, no cracks were in evidence at Karan Johar’s birthday party two weeks ago, which Kajol and Ajay attended together.
Neither Ajay nor Kangana have commented on the report. Source
Ajay Devgn has dabbled in almost all genres of films in his career of over two decades, but the actor is still eager to experiment with his roles.
‘I want to try to balance drama, action and comedy. I want to do every genre and am ready to experiment with my roles. I don’t want to let my producers or directors down,’ said Ajay in a statement.
His last release ‘Singham’ crossed the Rs.100 crore mark at the box-office, but he says this level of popularity and fame frightens him.
‘It feels great when you are a part of movie reaching the Rs.100 crore mark. But at the same time, it frightens me as an actor and makes me feel more responsible with every release.’ More
Kangana Ranaut is on a roller-coaster ride these days. With three big films in her kitty, the actress is now looking forward to Tezz with Ajay Devgan and Anil Kapoor.
This is not the first time that Kangana Ranaut will be seen with the duo. She worked with Ajay Devgan in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and with Anil Kapoor in No Problem.
But she says every time she works with them, she is amazed with their acting prowess.
“I have done two films with Ajay… in fact when I did ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’, I was still new to the industry and he was a superstar. I have always noticed that he doesn’t talk much. Otherwise Ajay is much disciplined and you can learn so much from him,” said Kangana.
Talking about Anil, she said: “Anil Kapoor is like family. The love and affection that he showers on me is something I don’t know how to react to. He is very chivalrous. You feel good when he is around on the sets.”
“Tezz”, directed by Priyadarshan, will release April 27. Source
A lot of Bollywood actresses are jumping onto the action bandwagon. The latest to join the list is Sameera Reddy. The actress would be seen doing some daredevil stunts in “Tezz” and looking at her courage, co-star Ajay Devgn calls her the hero of the film.
“Sameera is not the heroine but the hero of the film. She has done some amazing action in the film and is nothing less than any hero in the film,” he said in a statement.
Sameera was said to be unhappy over not being offered the item song in the film. However, she said she has no complains and enjoyed doing the stunts.
“I was not offered the item song but I got to be a Lara Croft in the film. It’s an action-oriented character and a strong role. Women in Bollywood never get to perform such stunts. When I was offered the role I was told that I can’t complain that my nails are going to break. I enjoyed doing the stunts,” said the 29-year-old actress.
Directed by Priyadarshan, “Tezz” also features Mohanlal, Anil Kapoor, Boman Irani, Kangna Ranaut and Zayed Khan in prominent roles. It is slated for April 27 release. Source
Ajay Devgn hit gold when he enjoyed the first solo 100 crore superhit in the form of SINGHAM last year. Now if things fall well in place, he could well be extending his winning run with the film’s sequel.
”Though it is still way too early to make any declarations, there are strong indications that Ajay would feature in the film’s sequel,” says a source, ”This stems from the fact that Surya, who had featured in the original Tamil version SINGHAM, is now starting shoot of the sequel in a few weeks from now. While Hansika Motwani would be one of the leading ladies, there are talks of Anushka Shetty coming on board as well. Meanwhile there are strong feelers that Ajay would be an obvious choice for the Hindi remake since he took the subject to an altogether different level by bringing it on an all-India level.”
However the film won’t go on floors before next year since the Tamil version itself won’t arrive before end of the year. More
It’s unusual for an actor to give an interview for one film while he is shooting for another but it did not pose any problem for Ajay Devgn. He quite readily gave an interview for his upcoming film Tezz on the sets of his other film Bol Bachchan.
It helps that he is a major star for such things to happen. But also, the director of Bol Bachchan — Rohit Shetty — is one of his close pals.
The friendship stems from the olden days when their fathers — action director Veeru Devgan and stuntman Shetty — worked together.
Ajay has starred in every one of Rohit’s seven movies.
On the sets of Bol Bachchan, junior artistes dressed in colourful Rajasthani attire, complete with camels, were wandering about. The film has been largely shot in Jaipur, and some patchwork scenes are being shot here — which explained the Rajasthani look.
Bol Bachchan is apparently a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s brilliant 1979 film Gol Maal, starring Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt. More
Once she was ‘Chirpy Chawla’, who excelled in light-hearted roles in films like Bol Radha Bol (1992), Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke (1993), Duplicate (1998) and Jhankaar Beats (2003). But in the last few years, happy Juhi has turned unhappy in offbeat cinema like My Brother Nikhil (2005), Sukhmani (2010)
and I Am (2011).
“Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve done a regular commercial movie,” the actor agrees. “The last one was Bhootnath (2008). So, it was a welcome relief to shoot for SOS—Son Of Sardar in Patiala last year. It’s a comedy with lots of cute, quirky characters and funny lines.”
The rom-com revolves around two Punjabi families living in havelis (bungalows) out in the country. Juhi is a slightly dehati (rustic) Sardarni opposite Sanjay Dutt. “It’s such a coincidence that the last film I shot with Sanju, Safari (1999), also had Tanujaji (actor Tanuja), and now I’m working with both of them again,” she says, remembering how on a rainy morning during an outdoor shoot in Tekri on the Kerela-Tamil Nadu border, Sanjay had made tea for the unit. “I pretended to be a spot boy, holding an umbrella over his head while he poured the tea from the kettle into little glasses.” More

It seems that after tasting success with cop drama Singham, director Rohit Shetty wants to achieve the ultimate casting coup-that of getting Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn together in a movie! Cinema buffs would know that Devgn and Khan have never shared screen space till date and Devgn is said to be not very impressed with the SRK-Karan Johar camp, though Devgn’s wife Kajol has acted with King Khan in many films and both are supposed to be good friends.
When asked to elaborate on his plans to bring the two actors together, Shetty was quoted to have said, “I might bring SRK and Ajay together, or direct a film produced by both Red Chillies and Ajay Devgn Entertainment. Both are talented actors and great producers and care about the people who work for them a lot.”
Rohit Shetty and Shah Rukh Khan will be coming together for the first time in action film Chennai Express and it is said that Khan was eager to work with Shetty after being impressed with the way he made Singham with Ajay Devgn. Source
Once perceived to be sworn enemies, the stars amicably swapped rights to a couple of scripts recently
Going by this report, it seems the perceived enmity between Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan is long over. The latest is that the two have exchanged the rights to a couple of scripts, recently.
Not surprisingly, the common factor is Rohit Shetty, Devgn’s director buddy who’s making Chennai Express with SRK next year.
On December 9, HitList reported how SRK chose to do Chennai Express with Rohit, over Angoor, the remake rights of which eventually went to the director known for his action comedies like the Golmaal series and the action flick Singham. More
