Kamal Hassan Talks About Shruti Hassan & Aamir Khan

Kamal Haasan candidly admits that he couldn’t have made it big in Bollywood without his mentor K Balachander, that Hindi movies still enthuse him and that he loves the kind of films Aamir Khan is making.

He is also proud of his daughter Shruti Haasan’s career in Tamil and Hindi movies as she has made a place for herself without his banner’s support.

Excerpts from the interview.

Q: Are you enthused by Hindi cinema?

A: Yes, some of it. I am very happy Aamir Khan is now attempting films that should’ve been done 10 years ago in Hindi. People attribute this new cinema to the entry of corporate houses in Hindi cinema. But where were these corporate houses when Hrishida (Hrishikesh Mukeherjee) made his films, and Gulzar bhai made Achanak? Brilliant films are possible in every corner of India and at any time.

Q: Your daughter Shruti has made a career both in the Tamil and Hindi film industry. More

Aamir Khan Gives Some Tips On Fatherhood To Abhishek Bachchan

They were seen cozied up to each other, involved in a warm and friendly discussion at a prayer meeting held at a Mumbai film studio in the memory of the late Dev Anand, lovingly and respectfully called by the industry folks as Dev Saab.

While the first time father Abhishek was quietly listening to the senior thespian’s animated discourse with a very friendly smile on his face, everyone was left wondering about the topic of conversation. Were they discussing the nitty-gritty of fatherhood? Both looked relaxed and happy, with the bright glow of fatherhood adorning their visage. More

Aamir Khan’s Indirect Role In Don 2

Our headlines may come as a surprise to most as the two top Khans, Aamir and Shah Rukh, though cordial to each other are not exactly bosom pals. But hold on to your horses because what we are saying is true, though there is bit of a twist to the tale.

As is known, in February 2011, Shah Rukh Khan was in Malaysia’s exotic tourist island, Langkawi, to shoot for DON 2. During his two week sojourn, King Khan stayed at Langkawi’s The Danna Hotel, located very close to the shooting venue, the cable car and the rain forest.

It may well be a co-incidence of sorts but the fact is that (believe it or not!) the name of the general manager of The Danna Hotel was Aamir Khan, who made sure that SRK’s stay was a very comfortable one. The interesting information came to our knowledge during our recent visit to Langkawi!

Well, we are sure that Aamir Khan’s efforts were not in vain because we know for sure that some of the most stunning shots from DON 2 are from the Langkawi portions, but more on that later! Source

Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 Will Release In 2013

The much awaited release of DHOOM 3 has now been shifted to 2013. This has been necessitated because of various production and post-production considerations.

While the shoot begins from end-November 2011, we anticipate a demanding 10 to 11 months of intense shooting with concurrent post-production, which will stretch beyond. This will probably be cutting it too fine for a Christmas 2012 release.

In view of this and keeping the interest of the audience expectations from DHOOM:3, both Aditya Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor) in consultation with Aamir Khan, have decided to delay the release of the film to 2013.

Speaking about this, Victor said, ‘DHOOM:3 is very dear to all of us as well as to its audience who expect only the best from the franchise. While the shooting will finish in time, we expect the post-production to take much longer. We are trying our best to give one of the finest cinematic experiences to our discerning audience and therefore did not want to compromise the quality of the film just to meet the release date.’ More

Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath Beats Ra.One & Dhuan

Hrithik Roshan has finally beaten the Khans in the movie rat race. According to trade insiders, Zee Network has apparently bought the satellite rights for his upcoming AGNEEPATH for a whopping Rs. 41 crore, which could be a new record. The transaction beats what Sony Entertainment supposedly paid for Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor tentatively titled cop caper DHUAN (Rs. 38-40 crore), and has also outclassed Star Network’s reported Rs. 35 crore bet on this year’s Diwali release, RA.ONE.

Jayantilal Gada, CMD, Pen India Pvt Ltd, the agency that aids the purchase of films for Zee Cinema, justifies a hefty price tag, saying that channels study the production banner’s track record on the small screen before pitching to buy satellite rights. ‘We chose to buy AGNEEPATH over several other biggies because Karan’s (producer Karan Johar of Dharma Productions) movies have always delivered great numbers. And the promo of this film showed promise,’ he adds. More

Aamir Refuses To Be On Shahrukh Khan’s New Show To Be Aired Soon

The cold war between Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan shows no signs of thawing. The two are well known for taking potshots at each other, especially when either of their films is up for release.

Now, the rivalry has been taken up a notch. Aamir Khan has apparently refused to be a part of UTV Star’s show Live My Life, which tracks a celeb’s life for a day, simply because it is being produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment!

“They wanted to kickstart the show with Aamir because the concept of the show has been generating a lot of attention, and obviously a big name would give it that much of a boost. More

But news is that he is trying hard to juggle dates between shooting episodes for his TV debut and Dhoom 3.

Incidentally, the Yash Raj production has already been delayed, thanks to papa-to-be Abhishek Bachchan.

Aamir Has To Be A Little More Careful

Abhay Deol was right. Post the super success of his ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Murder 2′, he was confident that stocks of their next film together, ‘Shanghai’, would be sky high.

Well, his belief has stayed on to be true, what with the makers of ‘Shanghai’ willing to take on none less than Aamir Khan.

“‘Shanghai’ has been confirmed for release on India’s Republic Day i.e. 26th January next year. Now this is the same date that was locked for Aamir Khan’s next with Reema Kagti which is rumoured to be titled ‘Dhuaan’”, confirms a trade source. More
