Anushka Sharma Learnt A Lot From Vishal Bhardwaj
Whoever works with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj for the first time has something to take home from the director and Anushka Sharma is not any exception. The actress who has just worked with the multitalented director in MATRU KI BIJLEE KA MANDOLA, has not stopped singing praises of him ever since.
And petite beauty Anushka Sharma, who stars in his Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola alongside Imran Khan, is certainly no different. Ever since she has worked with the director, we have been hearing Anushka praising Vishal endlessly. On being asked about her learning on the sets of the films, she said, ”It was a huge learning experience for me. I learnt a lot of acceptance in this film which was something new to me.”
She revealed, ”I am not a trained actress. I come from a modeling world and I was just 19 years old when I shot for my first film. I had played my roles in a certain way be it in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi or Jab Tak Hai Jaan. For me everything was black and white. I started accepting that and became more judgmental. I learnt there are many shades to a character than just black and white. But when I worked under Vishal Bhardwaj’s tutelage I started sympathizing with people. For example, I was around 10 or 11 years old when I saw Maqbool, I didn’t understand the film, and now when I see the film I realized that the characters are still warm despite, doing the wrong things. You feel sorry for them because life is like that. And acceptance of that is what I learnt on this film. You learn to be with people and that is something I would have never learnt otherwise”.
