One can recall easily Aamir Khan’s promise made few weeks back to clean toilets of single-screen cinema halls to get producer Vashu Bhagnani’s son Jackky’s debut movie Kal Kisne Dekha released ? Now going by the current scenario it doesn’t seem to happen as Aamir is currently on holiday in North America and the Bhagnanis have decided to delay the launch of Kal Kisne Dekha Hai, which was supposed to be out on May 1st.

Sources claim, the makers of the film put Aamir’s statement for building publicity for the film. A Mumbai tabloid had reported that Aamir had asked Vashu Bhagnani, who is producing the movie, to not compromise with multiplexes and release the movie in single screens if need be. Since people did not want to go to single screens, most of which are filthy, Aamir had reportedly assured Bhagnani that he would be at hand, and clean their toilets if it came to that. Source

King of Hearts Shah Rukh Khan will take a break from following his Kolkata Knight Riders team in the Indian Premier League tournament being played across South Africa to cast his vote in the Indian elections.

Having politely declined earlier offers to join political rallies of any South African parties in the run-up to the elections here last Wednesday, which was overwhelmingly won by the African National Congress (ANC), Khan will head back to India on Wednesday, together with his family, wife Gauri and children Aryan and Suhana.

Khan had reportedly been approached by ANC leaders in Durban prior to the first IPL games there a few days before the elections here. Other IPL team owners Preity Zinta of the Kings XI Punjab and Shilpa Shetty of the Rajasthan Royals had reportedly also declined offers to appear at political rallies. Source

Bollywood’s veteran actor Feroz Khan’s last wish before he passed away in Bangalore was to finish his dream project – a remake of his 1980 blockbuster film “Qurbani”.

“When he fell ill, he realised that a lot of energy was required to make a film, so he took a break and was adamant that he will make the film. Few songs had already been recorded. This project was his last wish and I am sure someone will take it forward,”. Feroz Khan passed away late Sunday at his farmhouse after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 69.

He had announced “Kurbani” at the 2006 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) event in Dubai. His son, actor Fardeen Khan, was to reprise his father’s role in the new version of the romantic thriller. The actor had also decided to star in the remake of the film. According to media reports, he had roped in filmmaker Sanjay Gupta to wield the megaphone for the movie. When contacted, Gupta refused to comment on it.

Anand Raj Anand, who has been signed to direct the music for the remake, said: “We had already recorded three songs for ‘Kurbani’ but his health was an issue. Right now I don’t want to comment anything more on this as I am very sad about hearing of his demise.” Source

Sources reveal that he is making a friendly appearance in a small but significant part in Uday Chopra’s come back film of sorts, Love Impossible. Uday and John have been friends since the time they did Dhoom together. They both have been biker buddies since both are biking fans. It is learnt that it was Uday who made a call to John and requested him to do the guest role. John apparently plays himself in the film and there are constant references to John Abraham – the star in the film’s script. But it is learnt that John didn’t even care what his role in the film was before saying yes to it. He’s also adjusted his dates with other projects to accommodate Uday’s film, which needs only 4 days of his time.”

Well may be perhaps John Abraham knows that these 4 days may well be his re-entry ticket for Dhoom series with Dhoom 3. Incidentally, Uday backed out of John Abraham starrer Hook Ya Crook as he was more kicked about about his home production. Source

Seems that Kajol’s sister Tanisha’s career has come to an end. Her debut film Ssshhh was a dud at the box-office and all her efforts to gain some credibility were met by poor critical reviews.

A friend of the actress let the cat out of the bag and claims that Tanisha has in fact found a “soul mate” in the form of an NRI businessman from London. While little details are known about the mystery man, Tanisha is said to be crazy, madly, deeply in love with the industrialist. So much so that she spent the last month in London with her new beau.

On the other hand, brother-in-law Ajay Devgan proposed to re-launch Tanisha in a home-production but she flatly refused stating that “she is no longer keen to act”. It seems that Tanisha is sitting pretty on cloud nine and hoping that wedding bells for her will ring soon. The same friend also reported that Kajol and her family have told Tanisha to take it easy and get to know the businessman more before progressing further into a possible marriage. Source

On Sunday actor-politician Sanjay Dutt walked down the memory lane when he visited the birthplace of his mother Nargis.

“I am infused with fond memories of my mother while visiting her birthplace in Kolkata. It also thrilled me with a nostalgic feeling. It’s a very emotional moment for me. I thank the people of Kolkata,” he said. Nargis, earlier known as Fatima Rashid, was born on June 1, 1929 at her Indian Mirror street residence in Central Kolkata.

The dilapidated two-storeyed house now has lost all its glory but is full of old memories that still draw people’s attention.

Nargis was the daughter of an Allahabad-based Muslim singer Jaddanbai who introduced her into films as child actress Baby Rani. Her brother Anwar Hussain also became a film actor. The actress ruled the silver screen for nearly three decades since the early 40s. Her legendary beauty and talent captivated audiences in films like “Awara”, “420″ and “Mother India” to name a few. She became a social worker and a member of the Rajya Sabha after retiring from films. Source

Bollywood babe Neha Dhupia, who has been lately associating herself with closer-to-life characters, will be essaying the role of a back row dancer in her forthcoming film ‘Pappu Can’t Dance Saala’. ‘Neha did a thorough research on back dancers before embarking on the role. She met and interacted with them on a close level because she wanted to know the kind of lifestyle they had,’ said a source close to the actress.

‘Neha coloured her hair red because she noticed that all those back dancers that she had met had that colour. She also observed that most back row dancers had a habit of chewing gums while waiting for the shot on the sets. So, she adopted that style for her character too,’ the source added.

In the film, Neha will be working opposite Vinay Pathak. Source

But Asin reportedly got into a heated argument with her father to drive home the point that nothing is more important than him. Our source reveals, “Last IPL, the King Khan’s children, especially son Aryan was a regular feature in most of the KKR matches. But since the matches were held in India it was easily possible for their superstar dad to take them to the match venues. This year as the venue has shifted to South Africa, it seemed difficult that SRK would manage to take them along. Also since their school was holding special classes delaying their summer vacation. But Shah Rukh apparently applied for a special permission and the school gave his kids five days of holiday as a special case.” Source
