NEW DELHI: The special TADA court on Tuesday sentenced film actor Sanjay Dutt to six years rigorous imprisonment for illegal arms possession in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. His bail bond also stands cancelled, Times Now reported.

The actor will be taken directly into custody from the special TADA court. The actor will spend the night at the Arthur Road Jail. Dutt had been convicted under the Arms Act. He had applied for relief under the Probation of Offenders Act.

Earlier, Judge PD Kode on Tuesday refused to examine the probation report of Sanjay Dutt and two friends, Times Now reported.

“Their crime is not a minor offence. They committed an imminently dangerous act,” the channel quoted Judge Kode as saying.

Unlike previous occasions, the actor was seen sporting a white shirt instead of his trademark ‘lucky’ blue one as he entered the court.

Dutt’s lawyers had argued that his past clean record be considered.

He has been on bail for the past 12 years after serving 18 months in jail following his arrest for unauthorised possession of an AK-56 rifle and a pistol, allegedly supplied by suspects in country’s deadliest terror attack.

Buzz had it that actress Hansika Motwani aka Rheaa of Aap Kaa Surroor had taken steroids and supplements to look older not only to match with Himesh Reshammiya but also bag the lead in other films as an actress.

Manzoor Khan, her makeup artiste in the film, however denies the story saying that Hansika and he had worked together on her looks.  “I am responsible for the mature look that Hansika has in the film,” he says. He adds, “It was the magic of my brush and the makeup technique that helped Hansika look older than her actual age.”

Manzoor says that he had worked out several alternatives for Hansika. “I realised that with straight hair Hansika looked much younger and thus gave her curls so that she would look older. Usually I use minimum makeup on my artiste but with Hansika it was the other way round. I deliberately chose to do heavy make-up over her face especially around the eyes and the lips so as to make her look like a lady in her twenties.”

London: She’s in the news yet again. But this time it’s not anything to celebrate. Actress Shilpa Shetty has been accused of wrecking a marriage by a UK-based film producer’s wife.

According to the News of the World tabloid, 25-year-old Kavita Kundra claimed that Shilpa is now “an item with her film producer husband Raj”.

“Our marriage was in a rough patch but I was certain we could make it work for the sake of our new baby daughter. But then along came Shilpa. Suddenly Raj changed and now he wants a divorce,” Kavita told the tabloid.

Reacting to the report, Shilpa’s spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar said in Mumbai, “the two are just friends, however cliched it may sound.”
