I m not jealous says Hema Malini

zzzzzzzz1.jpgMumbai: She is the Dream Girl of Hindi cinema and for a change she is not talking about her dance but her very own Greek God, Dharmendra and his new film Apne. CNN-IBN corresspondent, Varsha Pillai, caught up with Hema Malini for an exclusive chat.

Varsha Pillai: What did you think when you saw Apne for the first time?

Hema Malini: My immediate reaction after seeing Apne was ‘wow’. That’s the way he has to make a comeback.

Varsha Pillai: What did you think of his role in Metro?

Hema Malini: I liked his role in Metro. His character, the entire concept of that elderly couple was very sweet. However, I thought his role was a bit small in the movie.

Varsha Pillai: Dharmendra values your opinion a lot and you are quite a critic when it comes to his roles. How does he take that?

Hema Malini: Yes, that’s true. I keep telling him, ‘don’t do this, don’t do that’ and he always wonders whether I will like his film or not. But I really liked Apne when I saw it. I told him that it is a beautiful film and you have made me very proud. (smiles)

Varsha Pillai: Dharmendra had once said that he would like to do a Roman Holiday with Preity Zinta. How do you react to that?

Hema Malini: I think as an actor he should do it. Why not? I am not jealous or anything. We have crossed that stage of feeling jealous for each other. He’s a very fine actor.

Varsha Pillai: Did seeing Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby together in a film make you feel that you would like to do a film with both your daughters?

Hema Malini: Yes sure. Definitely I would love to do a film with my daughters. (laughs)

Rani Mukherjee got engaged with Aditya chopra

rani_huge5-small.jpgIt seems like it’s wedding season for Bollywood. Actress Rani Mukherjee and producer Aditya Chopra had a quiet engagement on Monday and are said to be getting married soon.

According to sources, the Roka took place at the Chopra bungalow where Chandini was shot. It’s also reported that about 60 people were present at the ceremony including Rani’s parents, brother and his wife. Aditya’s brother Uday Chopra, dad Yash Chopra and mom Pamela Chopra were also present. Among others who attended the ceremony were Jugal Hansraj (Uday’s close friend), Anupam and Kirron Kher.

Rani wore a maroon sari with silver embroidery and Aditya wore a kurta-pyjama, both designed by Pallavi Jaikishan. Speculations are that another function will be held at Rani’s residence sometime next week.hotscoop-adityachopra-big1.jpg

36-year old Aditya recently divorced his ex-wife, Payal Chopra. The couple got married in 2001. Sources claim that Aditya’s mom Pam Chopra is not too happy about Rani and her son’s engagement because she has a soft corner for Payal.

Watch this space for more news on what could be Bollywood’s next big wedding.

Salman gives Merc to Govinda as brotherhood

tn3528_sallu-n-govinda.jpg

Salman and his brother Sohail have adopted Govinda as a member of their extended family. And now Govinda, as emotional as ever, is ready to reciprocate the Khans’ generosity.

Govinda says, “After Partner, I’ve been indirectly offered another film by Sohail. I’ve been told about it by Suniel Shetty’s secretary George.  I don’t know what the project is and I don’t care. I’d do anything for the Khans blindly. When I was down and out they could’ve given me any role, I’d have happily accepted. Instead they gave me a parallel role to Salman in Partner.”
Govinda refuses to discuss money with his adopted family, or accept it. He says, “I refused to accept any money for Partner, although they kept insisting I should. I won’t accept any money for this new project either. Does one talk money with the people who have embraced you as a brother? Sohail and Salman are largely responsible for my second inning. When I didn’t take any money for Partner, Sohail drove to my house in a Mercedes and gifted the key to my wife.”

For their next production, Govinda is adamant that he won’t charge anything. “I won’t take a single penny. Yes, it’s an emotional decision. What’s wrong with being emotional? I wish I had met more people like Salman and Sohail earlier in my career. I’ve only seen selfishness earlier.”
