Oscar nominated Spanish actress Penelope Cruz is very keen on Indian films and says she would love to work opposite Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
Cruz, who has been nominated for an Oscar in the best actress category for her role in the Spanish movie Volver, expressed her respect for the Indian megastar’s great body of work.
“I am a great fan of Indian cinema and I would love to work with Shah Rukh Khan,” she told www.hollywood.tv at the 3rd Annual Global Green pre-Oscar party held at the Avalon in Hollywood, California.

Salman Khan has donated Rs 4.5 lakh for the treatment of a seven-year-old child stricken with cancer, called Saugat Kunwar. The actor made the donation two months back without making a media spectacle out of the event.
On Saturday, Khan left shooting midway and attended the Annual Day celebrations of Children Welfare Centre High School and Clara’s College of Commerce.
The principal, Ajay Kaul, had personally invited him. Salman sat with the child for about 20 minutes, and then made a quick exit before the media arrived at the event.

A source says, “Before Salman reached the school, he learnt that the media had been invited to cover the event. He did not want his charitable gesture to be highlighted, so he came to the school about 90 minutes earlier than the scheduled time and left before the press could arrive.”

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty thanked British Prime Minister Tony Blair for supporting her in the international “racist bullying” row after meeting him during a visit to the Houses of Parliament. Shetty said Blair had expressed his upset at how she was treated on Britain’s “Celebrity Big Brother” reality television show, in which British housemates picked on the Indian actress, sparking a major row.
She was invited to parliament by Keith Vaz, an MP of Indian ethnic origin, who was later taking her to his Leicester constituency in east central England, home to one of Britain’s largest Indian communities.
On her trip around Parliament, she met ministers Peter Hain, Tessa Jowell and Jack Straw, the former foreign secretary who sparked a multiculturalism row over the role of the Islamic veil in British society.

We have this real life incident where SRK came forward to help a 10 year old Kashmiri refugee Pandit boy. Ashoke Pandit, filmmaker and a known fighter for the Pandits’ cause, came across this boy who was suffering from the life threatening disease and he SMSed all his friends including SRK to come forward and help the boy. “Within minutes, SRK called me up and enquired about the boy. He told me, ‘Just let me know what I can do and I will get it done for the boy.’ The boy is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Vellore and if the need arises for further treatment, SRK will take over and finance his whole treatment. We are working towards the modalities,” says a grateful Ashoke.
