Actress Parineeti Chopra, whose first solo film Ishaqzaade hits theatres Friday, holds three degrees in finance and always dreamt of becoming an investment banker. But global recession in 2009 changed her future, and she landed up as an actor.

“I am triple-qualified. I have done triple honours in Business, Finance and Economics. I have grown up wanting to be a banker, so studying finance was an automatic thing,” the 23-year-old said.

“I went to England and studied in Manchester Business School. Then I went to London because I wanted to work in an investment bank. But recession hit in 2009 and I wasn’t getting jobs and it was not because of my qualification, it was because they couldn’t give jobs to who were not British nationals,” Parineeti Chopra added. The film to be directed by Qurbaan director Rensil D’Silva features Emraan Hashmi and Kangna Ranaut.

Question: You’re said to be the strict parent. Apparently, Ajay doesn’t like you scolding your children when he’s at home.

Kajol: I have to be strict because I’m more of an ‘at home’ parent. When Ajay is around, it’s playtime. Our children are used to me in his absence.

Question: Seeing them grow up, what do you recall of your own childhood?

Kajol: I feel very bad for my mother, granny, aunts and uncles. I was much more of a brat than my children are. Of course, I was an angel when my mom was around; then I was a monster, a cute lovable monster. More

Parineeti recently admitted that she finds herself inferior to stand next to sexy Priyanka. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar may be seen just as an entertainer, but he has got his finger on the pulse of movie business. He says the sure-shot success mantra is to either make your own film or go for profit sharing.

“I have a very simple solution – make your films, because when you make your film you will not include your remuneration and it takes off the burden from a film,” Akshay told in an interview.

“So, when you make a film for Rs.20 crore and release it, the profits – be it Rs.5 crore or Rs.10 crore or Rs.40 crore – is yours. It’s all your luck. Also, your film won’t flop because your remuneration is zero,” added the actor, who makes film under his two banners, Hari Om Productions and Grazing Goat. More

The well-known filmmaker Vinod Chopra was speaking in the post-screening discussion during the ongoing festival of his films at PVR Cinemas, Juhu, Mumbai.

In his reply to a question if Shahrukh Khan was his first choice to play the role of MUNNABHAI MBBS, he said that King Khan had been the first choice for all his films including the MUNNABHAI series, 3 IDIOTS, and even FERRARI KI SAWAARI. It was not clear if he was just being zestful or stating the fact. It is well-known that MUNNABHAI MBBS and the other two films were first offered to SRK and he had declined them for various reasons. He had reportedly declined 3 IDIOTS because he wanted Raju Hirani to do the film for his banner. Hirani was unwilling to do that as he had no intentions of moving out of Vinod Chopra camp. SRK has yet to do a film for Vinod Chopra Productions. Source
