How Salman Ignored Big B At IPL Opening Ceremony?

Before coming on stage, Salman preferred to wait in his vanity van till Big B finished his rehearsals
In showbiz, it is the hardest to live by the adage forgive and forget. No wonder, awkward moments faced by actors make for interesting stories. On Monday evening, actors Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan faced one such moment, when they were present at the same time at the venue for the IPL opening night in Chennai.

But, Salman ensured that he kept away from a run-in with Big B, by steering clear from the stage area until the senior actor was finished with his rehearsals. “Since Salman got to the venue around the time Amitabh was rehearsing on the stage, he chose to wait it out in his vanity van before he came on the stage,” says a source. While the two stars do exchange pleasantries when they come face-to-face in public, the Bodyguard hero this time spent time in his vanity van with his crew. More

Big B Misses The Music Of Old Times

Modern technology has overshadowed the feel of original music, rues Amitabh Bachchan, who is recording his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s Madhushala in his voice. The megastar is also skeptical about the poetry connecting with today’s youth.

“Singing the verses of Madhushala, the alaap and lending orchestral brilliance to the basic structure that I made in an impromptu setting on my piano. What a different world this is… “We crave today in music sittings for the age of unplugged instrumentation. The reality and the joy of listening to the original sounds of string and dholak. Of the great masters and their wares – the Sarod, the Shehnai, the Sarangi, the Sitar. All lost and buried under the weight of modern sounds, mastered and manufactured through science and technology. All gone and overtaken by technology,” the 69-year-old posted on his blog. More

Amitabh Bachchan Is Amazed With ‘Paan Singh Tomar’

Director Tigmanshu Dhulia and actor Irrfan Khan have received heaps of praise from Amitabh Bachchan for their film Paan Singh Tomar. The megastar describes the movie as inspiring and fitting tribute to unsung heroes and truly a biopic.

Paan Singh Tomar tells the tale of the former national steeplechase champion-turned-bandit. Released Friday, the film features Irrfan in the title role.

“A fulfilling day! Saw an inspiring film, Paan Singh Tomar directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and enacted by a whole cast of fresh and very talented players, led by that incredible performer Irrfan. Such restraint in direction and performance, but such an impression on the nature of the subject. A biopic true to life and detail,” the 69- year-old posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.

“…this is a true story, of a man from Madhya Pradesh…The tribute to the unsung hero, lists various prominent sportsmen who brought glory on International platforms for the country, but died penniless. Some even having to sell off their gold medal to survive. Such a moving tale,” he added. More

Big B Watches ‘The Artist’ At Home

Amitabh Bachchan, who is recuperating at home after abdominal surgeries, is enjoying a “no time-table” life. Apart from doing other things, he watched Oscar nominated The Artist and said it was a “delight” to view the silent black and white French movie.

“Being by myself and almost in solitary confinement, is getting contagious. I am beginning to rather like this state. No where to go, nothing obligatory to perform, random timings and the liberty to do what I desire. I eat whenever, sleep whenever, watch a movie whenever and happy doing so,” Big B posted on his blog.

“The ‘little one’ comes up to meet me by the evening, wide eyed and now on the verge of recognizing things…On occasion she smiles and the volume of affection around increases a few decibels. Wonder if she feels why we must change the tone of our sound during our conversations with her, and whether it really helps to connect more effectively. Always a mystery.” he wrote. More
