Actress Soha Ali Khan says that her father, former cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, is recovering after contracting lung infection and is all right.

‘He (Mansoor) is all right but still in hospital. He’s been there for about 18 days. We are praying and we want him to get well soon,’ Soha told.

The actress was in the capital to flag off Cannon Photo Marathon aimed at bringing together photographic talents.

Mansoor was admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital following interstitial lung disease, when the passage of oxygen to the two lungs is less than normal. As a result the patient breathes out more carbon dioxide.

His actor son Saif Ali Khan, also made his third Delhi trip Wednesday to meet his ailing father and was accompanied by girl friend Kareena Kapoor. Source

After a long gap, Soha Ali Khan is returning to the big screen again. A musical, SOUNDTRACK features her along with Rajeev, both of whom are playing two matured youngsters who are physically disabled. Due to such characterization, Soha gets emotional as she remembers how her dad too had fought quite a few battles as he challenged all adversities pertaining to physical handicap and still moved up in his career.

“My dad had lost one eye but still went on to overcome all obstacles and ended up captaining the Indian cricket team. Everyone said that it would be impossible for him to even face a single delivery but he managed due to his strong conviction,” Soha says with pride in her voice, “I took a cue from that and approached my character in a similar manner.

This young woman I play has a speech impediment but then her other senses are well in place to allow her to live her life happily. It is with this confidence that I motivate Rajeev’s character as well who is quite disillusioned after finding out that he wasn’t able to hear well.” More

While her brother has always been open about his rock steady relationship with Kareena, Soha’s personal life and her equation with Kunal Khemu was shrouded in mystery for the longest time ever… until sometime back that is. Filmmaker Deepa Mehta has signed Soha Ali Khan for her upcoming movie Midnight’s Children, which is based on a novel with the same title by renowned author Salman Rushdie. Now, it is reported that the controversial author had recently come down to Mumbai to meet the actress.

Soha was very excited to meet the Booker Prize winner author Salman Rushdie as she was going to act in the film based on his novel. In fact, she was very happy when she got an important role in this international project. An industry source was quoted saying that both the actress and the author bonded well when they met few days back. Rushdie was also very happy to know that Soha has been signed for a role in the movie. He met Soha to discuss the novel, Soha’s character and its cinematic adaptation.

The filmmaker Deepa has always kept Salman in the loop as she knows that he would love to know about the developments. Midnight’s Children is one of the best works by the author and he wants to see all the developments before the shooting starts. More

Usually Soha Ali Khan is a bold and upfront actress but when it comes to kiss Emraan Hashmi in ‘Tum Mile’, she was little hesitant. After the director convinced her, she finally agreed to kiss Emraan not once but twice.

Says director Kunal Deshmukh, “I told Soha at the outset that the script demanded one kiss which was to be in a song. Though she had agreed to it, when it came to the shoot, she had second thoughts.”

The director explains Soha that since they are playing a live-in couple, the kiss is a must for the film. “In stead of having the camera all over them, I thought a liplock would say it all. Soha was extremely reluctant but she agreed later.”

Soha also kissed Emraan during a song sequence. The director felt for one more kiss but later dropped the idea. The film has been produced by Vishesh films, ‘Tum Mile’ is set against Mumbai floods in July 2005 and it is expected to hit the theatre in November. Source

The actress from the Nawab family Soha Ali Khan, whose career is going through a dry spell, is now looking forward to her upcoming venture 99 and says that her character in the film has a “wild streak”.

“I play the character of a girl called Pooja, who is a lobby manager of a hotel floor. She is stylish, confident and vivacious and has a wild streak,” said Soha.

“In the film, two conmen played by Kunal Khemu and Cyrus Broacha enter the character’s life and since she wants some excitement in her life, she happily joins them. She is a fun character at heart,” she added.

Q. It’s your first tryst with comedy. Do you have a funny bone in real life?

A: Oh I am good at comedy. All my friends think I have a great sense of humour. And even when I am interacting with someone the first thing I look for is humour. Now I don’t want to speak for myself because if go about calling myself funny, people will think it’s all blah!

Q. You have been missing at the awards.

A: Actually these days I am shooting for Tum Mile (with Emraan Hashmi) at Bhandup. We have got a set there recreating the 26/7 floods. So every evening after shooting in three feet of water I am really not presentable enough to make red carpet appearances.

Q. So is Soha next on the ‘serial kisser’s’ list?

A: I am really excited about this one. You know I am all for Bollywod romance and this is my first ever love story. I think we make an interesting pair. As far as the kissing goes, believe me this time it’s bit of a role reversal. Throughout the film I am trying to get Emraan to kiss me. I want him to but he is the one ignoring me. Source

Dil Kabaddi is on its way to theatre to bring some humour for the audiences. For the first time in this film, Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan have played the role of a married couple. A light-hearted comedy about urban relationships, Dil Kabaddi promises to take a humorous look at post-marital boredom, say the stars of this forthcoming film.
While Irrfan Khan has been paired with Soha Ali Khan here, Rahul Bose and Konkona Sen Sharma play the second couple. In the film, both married men are tempted to have affairs just to add some excitement in their dull lives. Irrfan, who plays a banker in the film, says he agreed to be in the film because he sensed a fresh approach in the writing.

Soha Ali Khan has been cast in Dil Kabaddi as a cosmetic surgeon with a compulsive cleanliness disorder, is excited about the varied palette of projects she has lined up in the pipeline. “I am really excited about the next film I am doing as it is a love story because I haven’t done anything like that. I am personally excited about the horror film I am doing. I am playing a sort of a supernatural kind of character who does yoga but in terms of profession perhaps i would like to do a legal drama that would be interesting,” says excited Soha. Source
