Bollywood bombshell Shilpa Shetty who is back from her honeymoon from the Bahamas with London-based businessman husband Raj Kundra is still on holiday mode. She is preparing to celebrate Christmas in London and New Year on a cruise in the Mediterranean.

‘Back to reality, the last couple of weeks felt like a dream — from the sunny Bahamas back in London for the last couple of days… There’s no place like London when it comes to celebrating Christmas,’ Shilpa posted on her blog shilpsshettylive.com/blog Saturday.

‘Really excited about the Mediterranean cruise we are taking with the family, my first ever making it even more special. I will be out at sea for the next two weeks… Will be bringing in New Year on the ship,’ she added.

Shilpa Shetty gave a royal miss to ex-lover Akshay Kumar at her wedding, but the brass band that was called in to play at her marriage brought back the memories of her sour love affair. Just before the pheras were about the begin, the band started playing some romantic love songs from Akshay Kumar-Shilpa Shetty starrer ‘Dhadkan’, giving a shock to all present. Even as the band had just begun playing, members from Kundra and Shetty’s families rushed to instruct them to stop the music immediately.

Confirming the report, an eyewitnes told a daily, “The band members were shocked and were wondering what went wrong. They looked quizzically at the people who were ordering them to stop the music of ‘Dhadkan’ but all that they got in return were harsh glares.

In one of the most awaited weddings of tinsel town, Shilpa Shetty tied the knot with London-based businessman Raj Kundra in a lavish ceremony in Khandala on Sunday. The 34-year-old actress wed in a traditional Mangalorean ceremony at businesswoman Kiran Bawa’s villa in Khandala, 100 kms from Mumbai, in the presence of close friends and family. The actress who shot to international fame with her stint in UK reality show Celebrity Big Brother did not invite many of her Bollywood associates with only Sunny Deol, Suneil Shetty, Jackky Bhagnani and Vasu Bhagnani attending the private ceremony which was out of bounds for the media.

The bride wore a burgundy and red saree, embellished with Swarovsky crystals, designed by Tarun Tahiliani while 33-year-old Kundra, who arrived at the wedding venue in a horse-drawn chariot, was dressed in a maroon and gold sherwani designed by Shantanu and Nikhil.

The marriage combined the rituals of the Mangalorean bride and the Punjabi groom with the vows being exchanged according to South Indian tradition while pre-wedding rituals like Mehendi and Sangeet conducted as per Punjabi tradition. More

London-based businessman Raj Kundra left in a chariot Sunday evening to marry his actress fiancee Shilpa Shetty here in this Maharashtra hill station. Kundra left Amrit Villa, located about five minutes away from Bawa Villa, where the wedding is going to be held, in a chariot driven by two horses.

Clad in a maroon sherwani with golden embroidery, Kundra was sporting a turban with his face veiled by a sehra (string of pearls). He was also holding a sword in his hand, as per Indian tradition.

Noticed dancing in the baraat (marriage procession) were actors Rohit Roy and Jackky Bhagnani.

Half the road was blocked by security guards by ropes on both sides of the chariot while the police were trying to navigate the traffic on the other half. Source

The queen of hearts, Shilpa Shetty is all set to tie the knot tomorrow, but the actress is feeling quite low today, on the occasion of her Sangeet and Mehendi ceremony. The reason is that Shilpa’s dad would not be able to join daughter on her Sangeet ceremony at her best friend Kiran Bawa`s bungalow in Khandala, as he is recovering from Malaria in hospital.
 
A source close to Shilpa said, “Poor Shilpa, her sister Shamita and their mother Sunanda are all feeling very low as her dad Surendra Shetty was suddenly taken to the ICU on Thursday night at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri. However, he will hopefully be there tomorrow on the wedding day for Kanyadaan.

“Thank God everything was diagnosed overnight and her dad was given the correct treatment on time or he wouldn`t have been able to do the Kanyadaan. If that had happened, Shilpa would have been devastated. Even now, the whole thing has cast a shadow on the marriage proceedings, but Shilpa is happy that her dad will be able to give her away!” the source added. Source

Bollywood’a Sharara girl Shamita Shetty felt disappointed that Shilpa Shetty held her engagement with Raj Kundra when she was locked up inside Bigg Boss house. She was very much enthusiastic about Shilpa’s engagement and was highly upset to hear the news. “I was really sad to hear that Shilpa was doing this when I was in a reality show and could not get out of there to attend the event. Shilpa’s wedding is a cherished moment for the family and that includes me too. It’s going to happen just once and so I did not want to miss out on anything. I felt really horrible and disappointed that I missed her engagement,” revealed Shamita.

Shilpa could not postpone her engagement as the day was auspicious and for that she had apologized to Shamita, “She sent me a sweet handwritten letter in which she apologised to me by saying sorry many times. I cried a lot after reading the letter because I knew she wanted to wait for me but the circumstances made her go ahead with the engagement. I have forgiven her for making me sad,” she said.

Shamita added, “I wanted to spend every single day with her and I really broke down. I was thinking that I was throwing away the days I should be with her by being in a reality show. She would get married and go to London and then I won’t be able to see her when I want to. I wanted to spend as much time as possible with her. Shilpa has already organised people who will help me out with my wedding dress and other things. Tarun admits he’s been asked by Shilpa to design her wedding dress, but he refuses to reveal what he plans to create for the actress.

When asked if he would design Shilpa’s dresses for the mehendi and sangeeth ceremonies as well, Tarun gave a terse reply. “I’ll design everything!” he said without elaborating.

The slim beauty Shilpa Shetty got engaged to London-based businessman Raj Kundra in Mumbai on Saturday. The ceremony was a personal affair and was held at Raj’s Juhu residence in Mumbai. The 34-year-old actress was wearing a pink sari designer by film industry’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra. However, she will be wearing Tarun Tahiliani’s outfits for all other functions of the wedding.

“I can’t talk about the details of the outfits but I can tell you that she will look absolutely stunning,” Tahiliani told IANS on the sidelines of his show at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) in the Capital on Saturday.
Asked about the number of outfits he will be designing for Shilpa, Tahiliani said: “I’ll design everything”. The designer has earlier had Shilpa as his showstopper for two fashion events - but her appearance in a heavy lehenga choli at the HDIL India Couture Week last year is etched in many people’s mind.
