Celebrities seldom have quality time with family. No wonder Sameera Reddy is upbeat about spending time with her sister, former VJ Meghna, who is on a visit to India from Greece.

Meghna married Ariel Mionis, a Greek businessman, in 2008. She was a popular VJ in the 1990s, but left India in search of better opportunities abroad. Source

While insiders are claiming that TEZZ is turning hotter as it approaches its release time period, one can well trust this statement to be indeed true. Reason being that Ajay Devgn would be seen in a stylish-n-cool avatar for this action flick which is said to be a remake of Japanese film THE BULLET TRAIN. Also with others like Zayed Khan and Sameera Reddy indulging in some dare devil action sequences as well there is some young blood which is adding on to the excitement.

No wonder, for Sameera it’s case of a new world being explored since she could turn into a biker girl here, something that she was longing for ever since she turned an actress.

“My entire bike riding experience was simply crazy. I trained for 4-5 months on the bike and in fact Ratanji was worried that I may just injure myself since for first two weeks I was just falling off every now and then,” laughs Sameera, “However after some more training, I took to bike riding like I was born to do it. This movie has taught me a lot of things that I had never done before; like for example holding my breath under water.” More

After going non-glam in critically acclaimed RED ALERT-THE WAR WITHIN which saw quite a few prestigious international awards coming its way, Sameera Reddy would be back to her glamorous best in TEZZ. An action affair which is scheduled to arrive this November, the film has Sameera getting into a commercial space two years after DE DANA DAN. For someone who is being quite choosy in picking up her assignments, Sameera says that she found herself to be indeed important to the scheme of things when it came to TEZZ that made her sign on the dotted line.

“That’s true,” Sameera nods in agreement here, “In the film I am basically one of the boys along with Ajay (Devgn). And then there is an emotional twist to the tale as well which makes it all the more loveable. There is a reason revealed about why this girl is behaving in the way she has been right through the film. In an out and out fast paced thriller like TEZZ, it’s good to be bagging such a part which really takes the story forward.” More

Sameera Reddy has joined the long list of admirers of Saifeens’s love story. “When you reach a certain age, there is no time and space for any flings whatsoever. Especially when you are an actress and in the world of glamour, it is all the more difficult to ascertain whether the person who claims to be in love with you indeed means it. This is the reason why I feel so enamored by the kind of chemistry that Saif and Kareena share. Theirs is what I call a great love story.”

One can well understand what must have touched Sameera’s heart strings. After all there was a time when she was deeply in love but now that she is single; she isn’t quite exploring the town hunting for boys.

“Do you have any suggestions for me”, laughs Sameera, “I am open to dating but then I am shying away from the filmy types. One day you are so much in love and the next day you are fighting it out on national television. Sorry boss, not my taste; I refuse to be part of such mud sledging. I am fine with outsiders coming to me, proving their worth and proposing me. They just need to have guts to do that.” More

Finally, it’s the old Priyan favourite Sameera Reddy who will be performing the sizzling item song for Priyadarshan in his thriller Tezz.

Sameera, no stranger to Priyan’s cinema, is a close family friend. She and Priyan’s wife Lizzie are best friends and whenever Sameera shoots a Tamil film in Chennai she stays with Priyan and his wife.

With such proximity, is it any wonder that the Tezz sizzler has finally gone to Sameera when apparently a lot of the screen queens were keen to perform to the peppy Sajid-Wajid number?

Recently the leading lady Sameera Reddy had a taste of danger while shooting for the multi-starrer. The actress said to have shot some risky, action sequences – which included whitewater rafting and under water bike ride! Interestingly, in this process Sameera who has phobia for water, overcame the hydro fear.

Some sources revealed that in fact the director wanted to shoot such stunt scenes using a body double as they all were aware of Sameer’s fear. But surprisingly, the beauty turned out to be such an adventure junkie that she took it up as a challenge to shoot the scene herself! More

It was reported earlier that film Aakrosh was stuck in censor problems as there were approximately 30 cuts that were requested within the film. Director Priyadarshan and producer Kumar Mangat, who were livid with the imposition, approached the Revising Committee.

Aakrosh, which stars Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Paresh Rawal in lead roles is based on the fictitious town of Jhanjhargaon in North India, which starts with the disappearance of three college students who go to watch the Ramleela staged in their village. A few days later, they are reported to have been killed. Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna play the two CBI officers from Delhi sent to the village to investigate the mysterious deaths. That’s when they discover a thriving nexus between police and local politicians in caste-related murders.

The latest on this, is that the film has been granted an ‘A’ certificate with just a measly five cuts by the Revising Committee, a drastic improvement from the initially asked for 30. With this new certificate, Aakrosh is all set to release on October 15. Source

RED ALERT – THE WAR WITHIN releases today and Sameera Reddy couldn’t have been happier. It was close to a couple of years back when she was associated with this Ananth Mahadevan directed film.

Now that her effort is ready to be unveiled in front of audience, she can’t help but keep her fingers crossed and wait for the final outcome. The film is also special because she started working on it at the time when she was going through a low period.

“I wasn’t quite enjoying my life”, she sighs, “In life you are sometimes so busy chasing things that you don’t know what you are actually doing. Once you decide that you want to be a little relaxed in life, things finally start falling in place all by themselves.”  Source

Though the big day is not finalised yet but Sameera Reddy has done her wedding planning in advance. She has decided on the jewellery and look for her big day.  The actress will sport a traditional South Indian look on her wedding day complete with her mother`s old jewellery.

“I will don a complete South Indian look on my wedding day, Mangalore style…,” said the 27-year-old actress.

“My mum has kept Mangalore style jewellery with coins, ruby chains, coral jewellery sets especially for my marriage,” said Reddy, who was in the city to inaugurate MMTC Festival of Gold 2010. The actress, however, refrained from divulging her plans of settling down. “There is nobody in the zone for me to get married to, so let us not talk about it,” she said.

Asked about her personal style statement, the celebrity said, “Few pieces give you the look…I do not wear too much, if it is a necklace then that should stand out. I go for one piece which is enough to make a style statement.” Source

Absolutely. This IPL, it’s been pretty hectic for me since there are so many members in all the teams whom I know so well. Dr Vijay Mallya, the owner of Team Bangalore, is related to my mother. I want to cheer for Team Chennai since Chennai is like my second home now. I am doing a lot of Tamil movies there and the South is a big market for me. Besides, Shilpa, Shamita and Raj are also very dear to me. They are great friends. In that sense, I am close to Team Jaipur. And then, there is Shah Rukh and Juhi. It’s been a tough time for Shah Rukh and Juhi and that’s the reason I decided to come down to Kolkata to cheer them on. I’m happy to be back in Kolkata. Now that I’ve become a vegetarian, I will really miss my rui machher jhol during this trip. 
 
But what did you do when Team Jaipur played against Team Chennai? Where did your loyalties lie then?
I don’t go for such matches when two teams, whose owners I know so well, are playing against each other. Obviously, it’s difficult for me to take sides if I am at the stadium. During such matches, I stay back at home and just say may the best team win. More

Priyadarshan has signed in sizzling beauty Sameera Reddy for his untitled flick. But the lass will be in it only for an item song. The song is said to be more hot and sexier than Bipasha’s ‘Beedi‘ song of ‘Omkara’.

Producer Kumar Mangat said to sources, “The decision on whom to cast for the song was the call of the director. Sameera’s song Teri Issaq will be a bigger hit than Beedi Jalai Le in Priyan’s film which is an action-thriller. It’s been shot partly in a haveli and part set. Priyan is extremely charged up about this film which is based on a report in a newspaper on honour killings.”

Sources revealed that Priyan had made up his mind to cast the actress in this movie when he had seen Sameera performing in ‘De Dhana Dhan’. The actress has really worked on her body to get a slimmer and sexy figure for this item number. Sameera revealed,”“In Kumarji’s film, I will be doing a hardcore sexy folk number for the first time. It’s a rocking number composed by Priyan, sung by Bhojpuri singer Kalpana and choreographed by Kala Master – a top choreographer from the south.
