Rani Mukherjee To Do An Item Number?

“After the success of NO ONE KILLED JESSICA, rumours were flying thick that Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala were very keen to bring Rani on board for a specially designed item number in HOUSEFULL 2,” informs a source, “It would have been special because in her decade long career so far, Rani has done only one item number for a film where she is not a lead actress. That was for ‘Kaali Nagin’ opposite Aamir Khan in MANN.”

What would have made this item number further special is Rani being in the same film as Akshay. Though confirmation is yet awaited on whether Akshay and other boys (John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade) would feature in the item song, it seems like a tempting preposition, especially after ‘Dhanno’ (Jacqueline, Akshay, Arjun, Riteish). Rani Mukherjee – All Eyes On ‘No One Killed Jessica’

Rani Mukherjee’s last three films – DIL BOLE HADIPPA, THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC, LAAGA CHUNRI MAIN DAAG, despite coming from a banner like Yash Raj Films, were duds. Now, the bold & beautiful, Rani is back in news with her upcoming film NO ONE KILLED JESSICA and all hopes are pinned on her latest film.

It is being touted that NO ONE KILLED JESSICA will help resurrecting Rani’s fading career. However, Rani gets agitated with such reports, “When everybody says Rani Mukherjee is finished I feel bad but at the same time I feel happy that now I can bounce back.”

She says that no one can make or break her position in the industry.

“My career is already made so I don’t think anyone can break or make my career. It’s my fans who decide to make me the star that I am. It’s because of them I am here. I don’t think any one person from the media can be responsible to make or break me. The only thing that can break me ever is when the love of my audiences will not be with me anymore or the fact that audiences don’t want to see me anymore,” says the optimistic actress.

Well Rani, we are hopeful that NO ONE KILLED JESSICA will shut all those wagging tongues when the film releases on 7th January 2010. Source

Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra are all set to tie the knot early next year. Or are they? According to reports circulating in the media, an engagement is soon on the cards for this actress – director jodi who apparently became close to one another during the time they spent working in various films together. The Rani Mukerji – Aditya Chopra relationship had created quite a furore in the recent past when the news first surfaced in the media. Apparently, Aditya’s relationship with Rani was the cause of his breakup with Payel Khanna, his wife of eight years.

Though the news has not been confirmed by the families of Rani Mukerji or Aditya Chopra, the media has been speculating on the impending wedding ever since Payel Khanna filed divorce papers last year. It had also been reported then that Yash Chopra, father of Aditya Chopra and the head of the Yash Raj Films banner, did not support his son when he started his illicit relationship with Rani Mukerji.

If all goes according to plans, the couple will get engaged formally early next year and will also tie the knot very soon after the engagement. Though Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra have been in a relationship for quite a long time now, they have been very low key about their affair. Source

Rani Mukherjee Denies To Be A Mother !

It might come as a surprise but Rani Mukerji has walked out of Deepa Mehta’s film, an adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s masterpiece novel Midnight’s Children, because she apparently didn’t want to play the mother of a 14-year-old. That she happily played a mother of two kids in Yash Raj Films’ Ta Ra Rum Pum almost three years ago is another matter. A source says, “She asked Mehta that how she can play the mother of a 14-year old when she herself is just 30? She preferred to leave the film instead.”

Initially, Rani was quite excited about the idea of working with Mehta as it would have been the first time in her 13-year career that she would have worked with a female director. Reportedly, she had even met Rushdie and Mehta in Toronto for the same. Mehta confirmed that Rani is no longer in her film. She also said that Rani had informed her about the same. “Rani was required to play a mother in a section of the film, but there is no kid in the film who is 14 years old,” said the filmmaker.

However, Mehta dismissed the buzz that Rani turned her down because she didn’t want to play a teenager’s mother. She said, “Rani had some personal reasons for not doing the film. I cannot disclose the reasons because there are some things, which are confidential between a director and an actor. I have great regard for Rani and total respect for why she is not working with me in this film.” More
