Sajid Nadiadwala’s flick has also aided in cementing the bond between the actresses. “Lara and I are both from Bangalore, and so there was camaraderie from day one,” reveals Deepika in a tabloid inter phew.

“We come from similar backgrounds,” states Lara in a media chat, “Like me, Deepika too was a model in Bangalore, so that was the common factor.” Jiah, they aver, is the baby, and the duo are usually busy mollycoddling the saucy Khan.

According to reports, the duo is apparently living in together in London as Lara has ample time to spend with beau these days. With the huge success in Wanted, Salman Khan found himself walking the ramp for Italian fashion house Guru. Wearing a casual long-sleeved tee shirt in horizontal blue bands, he walked alongside Lara Dutta, who wore a metallic silver jumpsuit and Taare Zameen Par child star Darsheel Safary. Not used to the ramp, he said, “I have been acting for the past twenty years, but walking on the ramp is difficult. Because when you are walking people are looking at you and a person become self-conscious.”

Salman and Lara had both been attending MMTC’s Festival of Gold in Delhi which runs until October 1st. “I am very excited to be at MMTC’s Festival of Gold,” Salman commented, “It is a great occasion to see some of the finest jewellery on display. Necklace and tops are two of my favourite pieces of jewellery. I am buying them at Festival of Gold for my mother, sister and girlfriend.”

Lara, meanwhile, is hoping for some golden success herself, over the next couple of weeks with both Blue and Do Knot Disturb being released around Diwali. “My next film after Do Knot Disturb, Blue is releasing just a day before Diwali, so I’m hoping that it does well and my Diwali becomes a bumper Diwali,” she explained. The audiences will get to see Sanjay Dutt and Lara Dutta cavorting delightfully with the sea creatures in a romantic song ‘Aaj Dil Gustak Hai’ in the film.

Says director Anthony, “It was very difficult to shoot with the wild spotted dolphins and we had to travel overnight to Bimini to shoot with them. It was well worth all the efforts, as the outcome was spectacular! We were extremely lucky to find a cluster of them and the delightful tricks, which the dolphins learnt especially for the song, make for a visual treat.”

Slated to hit the theatres on 16th Oct ‘09, this oceanic spectacle features Bollywood stars like Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Rahul Dev and Katrina Kaif. As per the sources, “Lara will be wearing a bikini in the film for which she has been working hard to get the very slim figure.”

“The pretty lass is on a strict diet and had been hitting gym regularly. She is also taking the yoga way to get into right shape. For now nothing has been known about the story line of the film as the production is very tight lipped about it,” adds the source. So is she inspired by Kareena in Tashan? Former Miss Universe, Lara Dutta who will be seen in a complete de-glamourised look in her next film Billu Barber, is back to her hot self in the February edition of the magazine.

Earlier Lara Dutta and Dino Morea used to see each other a lot. The old lovers again happened to cross one another’s road at Shahrukh Khan’s bash. Shahrukh and Gauri had thrown a party at Mannat, last week. Present on the occasion was Dino Morea and his ex beau Lara Dutta. When Lara saw Dino getting closer to designer Nandita Mahtani, she left the party and Dino followed her.

A source present at the event reveals, “Lara, Dino, Preity, Ness, and Nandita were all seen having a conversation. Later, Preity and Ness started mingling with other guests and the trio was left to themselves. Dino and Nandita were in the chatty mode, and were seen joking and laughing. It was obvious that Lara wasn’t too comfortable with her beau’s ex around.”

Apparently at one point, Lara saw Nandita sitting on Dino’s lap and she lost her patience and left the party. On seeing her leave, Morea too excused himself and followed her. A source close to the couple admits, “Yes, they had a tiff over Nandy but they talked and things are fine now.” Source

Lara Dutta is no more trusting in the Bollywood scripts. She has herself made her mind to write a script.

“What prompted me to write a script for myself? Scriptwriters in Bollywood aren’t writing anything in depth for a woman. Invariably the scripts glorify the hero while the heroine is the love interest. And the women-oriented films are half-baked attempts at feminist statements. Both to me are uninspiring,” Lara said.

So will she take to direction as well?

“No I’m not ready to direct yet. And I can’t wait to start my film. I’ve done two drafts. And I think it needs one more draft, then I’m ready,” she said.

But, interestingly, Lara hasn’t written a woman-oriented film.

“It has equal space for the male and female protagonists. It’s not one of those feminist, in-your-face women’s films. The male lead will have a lot to contribute to my film.”

And, yes, Lara will produce the film. “We start soon. It will be a very commercial film. And I can’t wait.” The former Miss Universe refused to reveal if Dino Morea, with whom she is linked, will play the lead in her film. More
