Bollywood actress and soon-to-be-mom Lara Dutta’s baby shower ceremony was held yesterday on 12th of December. The ace tennis player hubby Mahesh Bhupathi was all along taking care of his beloved. The ceremony was hosted by Lara’s sister Cheryl.

Lara kept her big day short and simple. The do was attended by her family and some close friends. Present at the occasion were veteran actress Shabana Azmi, tennis player Sania Mirza with husband Shoaib Malik.

Coming to Lara’s dressing style, the actor indeed looked elegant in her French rose pink maternity dress with a trendy clutch. Lara was seen pretty comfortable handling her baby bump in a flawless style.

After Aishwarya Rai, it’s Lara Dutta who is expecting and Abhishek Bachchan has wished her, saying “welcome on board”.

“Thank you so much for all ur wishes and prayers. It’s an awesome time in life right now and Mahesh and I r both very excited abt the baby!,” Lara, who tied the knot with ace tennis player Mahesh Bhupati in February this year, posted on her Twitter page.

In return, Abhishek congratulated her and posted: “Paaji! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! welcome on board.”

After several rounds of speculation and the couple refraining from making any comments, Lara Dutta has finally confirmed that she is, in fact, pregnant and quite kicked about it.

In an interview, Lara said that they (she and tennis star husband Mahesh Bhupathi) never denied that she was expecting and decided to come out with the news only when they thought the time was right.

On being asked about reports claiming that she’s ready to say goodbye to her film career post-pregnancy, Lara reportedly made it clear that she’ll never stop doing what she enjoys doing the most.

For now, the actress is looking forward to the release of Don 2. More

Shah Rukh Khan chose to attend Vivek Biyani’s wedding reception on Saturday, giving his Don 2 co-star Lara Dutta’s Goa wedding a miss.

Vivek Biyani, for those who don’t know, is the nephew of entrepreneur Kishore Biyani, who introduced Big Bazaar, Pantaloons and Central chain of shops. Vivek wed Tanushree Dhoot (whose family owns the Videocon group).

The reception took place at Turf Club at Mahalaxmi, South Mumbai. Apparently, SRK danced at the couple’s sangeet party on Friday, for a whooping    1.5 crore.

After the wedding, SRK took a private chopper to Malaysia, for the Don 2 shooting. His long hair is reportedly his look in the film as reported. Source

Tennis-star Mahesh Bhupati and Bollywood actress Lara Dutta exchanged wedding vows in Victorian style at the sunset point of the erstwhile Portuguese fort of Aguada near here on Saturday.

“We had a memorable time at the wedding. Looking forward to the rest of our lives together,” the celebrity couple said in their message after the wedding.

Bhupati, 36, and Lara, 32, had a specially decorated shamiana set up for them on the premises of a five-star hotel near the Candolim beach on the 16th century fort.

The wedding was out of bounds for the media, but sources said it was a grand affair.

Lara, a former Miss Universe, wore a white gown while Mahesh was in a black suit, the sources said. More

Akshay Kumar has agreed to do a cameo in Lara Dutta’s first home production Chalo Dilli under her banner Bheegi Basanti. The film stars Lara and Vinay Pathak in lead roles.

Not only have they co-starred in three films (Andaaz, Blue and Housefull) so far, Akki and Lara are also good friends off-screen. A source close to AK reveals,  “He was Lara’s first hero and they have shared a great camaraderie since. He feels that if he can do something to help a film then he will go all out.

He has already told her that he would come down to Jaipur and shoot with them for two days. He’s doing this as a gesture of his friendship with her.” The source adds that the action star has waived off his remuneration for the film as well. “He has told Dutta he’d do the cameo for free. When it comes to friends, Akshay doesn’t talk money. In fact he doesn’t even know what his role is. Usually he’s very particular about that. He hasn’t even discussed his role with her as there is genuine trust between the two.”

Even though Lara’s spokesperson denied the development, our source confirms Akshay’s cameo in the film. Source

Working together in director Pradeep Sarkar’s forthcoming film ‘Lafange Parindey’, actress Deepika Padukone has found a friend for life in Neil Nitin Mukesh. Neil once went out of his way to do her make-up personally, which was somewhat different, required for an accident scene.

‘I think I have made a friend for life and I think that’s what I cherished the most because he is a wonderful human being and that comes across on screen. We got along really well,’ said Deepika.

‘There is an accident scene, where I need a different kind of make-up and he is trained in it so he told dada (Pradeep Sarkar) that he will do my make-up and he did. Another day where I was doing…not exactly an action sequence, but lot of cable work and all of that, he choreographed the entire act. So I think in every way he was there for me,’ Deepika told IANS in an interview.

Set in the mean streets of Mumbai, ‘Lafangey Parindey’ is a love story where Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the character of Nandu, a fighter who pummels his opponents in the ring and Deepika Padukone plays Pinky Palkar, a dancer who is blind but ambitious and dances with roller skates on her feet. More

The duo is back again. After attending the Filmfare awards together, actress Lara Dutta and tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi gave another hint of their relationship by together attending the fashion extravaganza at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend here.

The couple looked very much in love while walking the green carpet Thursday. While Lara looked ravishing in a black and white short dress, Mahesh was dressed in blue jeans and white shirt with a dark blue blazer.

The couple earlier denied reports of their affair, but their recent appearances together have cleared the air regarding their relationship.

It might come as a surprise to many but Lara Dutta is the latest star to join Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2. The actress has been cast alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Rampal — all three who have been retained from its prequel Don.

And though producer Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan are tight-lipped about her role, a source revealed that the actress is touted to play a femme fatale in this slick-flick. However, whether Lara will be seen vying for SRK’s attention alongside Priyanka remains to be seen. A source said, “Lara’s not replacing Eesha (Koppikhar). She’s a completely new addition to the cast with an entirely new part written for her. But yes, the role will require Lara to learn some form of martial arts and she is very kicked about doing an action role.”

For Lara, it may just be a dream come true, as she had not too long ago revealed her wish of doing a hard-core action-oriented role. Incidentally, with Lara and Priyanka on board, the film teams two former Miss Indias (Universe and World, respectively) who had made their debut together in the 2003 Akshay Kumar starrer Andaz.  Source
