Actress Vidya Balan, who was first considered as the female lead for Sanjay Gupta’s next directorial venture SHOOTOUT AT WADALA, has been replaced by Kangana Ranaut.

It is reported that Kangana has stepped into Vidya’s shoes and signed the film starring Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi and Tusshar Kapoor.

Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures, confirmed the same on the social networking site. ”For those asking, Kangana Ranaut has been confirmed to star in SHOOTOUT AT WADALA,” he tweeted.

Arshad Warsi is keen on having his Double Dhamaal co-star Kangana Ranaut in the sequel of Ishqiya and is pushing filmmakers to cast her.

An industry insider informs, “He has recommended her name to director Abhishek Chaubey and producer Vishal Bharadwaj and Ketan Maroo because he strongly feels that she suits the role and is a perfect femme fatale.”

Both the actors worked together for the first time in the recently released Double Dhamaal and bonded big time.

Another source adds, “After rom-com Tanu Weds Manu and comedy Double Dhamaal, Kangana’s versatility as an actress has been established. These films have proved the audiences have accepted her. All these factors make her a strong contender for the role.” More

Out and out comedy Double Dhamaal, distributed by Reliance Entertainment and Maruti Pictures has had an impressive opening at the box office, grossing Rs 39.60 crores at the box office in its opening weekend, revealed a statement from the production house.

The film that was released in 1953 screens worldwide on June 24 has been directed by Indra Kumar, produced by Ashok Thakeria and stars Sanjay Dutt, Mallika Sherawat, Kangana Ranaut, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Ashish Chowdhry and Javed Jaferri.

“Double Dhamaal has received an overwhelming response over the weekend and will continue to attract audience in large numbers across the world. The film has already opened in 37 countries and is scheduled to open in non- traditional markets like France, Russia, CIS States, China, Turkey, Greece, Switzerland, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Belarus amongst many others,” said Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Entertainment. The Tanu of bollywood, Kangna Ranaut, seems to be going Salman Khan’s tried and tested route to win people’s hearts. Sources on the sets of Ranaut’s new film I Love New Year confirm that the actor takes the trouble to actually cook a hearty meal for most of her colleagues from the film.

“Not many know this, but Kangna loves to cook. In fact, she prefers to cook her favourite dishes herself. Initially, she would get non-vegetarian dishes like paya and the like for herself.

Her colleagues, Sunny Deol and other unit members tasted it and were floored. They requested her to pack in more for them too, the next time she entered the kitchen,” says the source, who is also a regular on the sets. More

Kangna Ranaut seems to be caught in the clash of producers, Ratan Jain (Tez) and Bhushan Kumar (I Love NY), over dates.

According to a source, the actress, who is currently shooting for Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru’s I Love NY (earlier titled Happy New Year), was urgently required for a day on the sets of Tez in UK.

Jain requested Kumar to give a day out of her current schedule, but he didn’t oblige. As a result the Tez unit will have no choice but to shoot without their lead actress,” the source informs.
