“Being a woman, you always go through something or the other. When I made my debut in Bollywood, many people told me I can’t do, it’s not a good place, I can’t make my position in this industry. Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla, who play pivotal roles in the film, believe their work should inspire audiences. “As a creative artist, my job has been to inspire audiences with art and films I’m part of. And the campaign allows me to present before you stories that are inspiring for us all. I look forward to saluting the unknown heroines of the country,” Madhuri said in a statement.

An initiative by Benaras Mediaworks in association with Gulaab Gang, the campaign will bring forth stories of valour from across the country and talk about unheard stories and unsung heroines. woman.

Juhi Chawla Speaks On Her Upcoming Film

Once she was ‘Chirpy Chawla’, who excelled in light-hearted roles in films like Bol Radha Bol (1992), Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke (1993), Duplicate (1998) and Jhankaar Beats (2003). But in the last few years, happy Juhi has turned unhappy in offbeat cinema like My Brother Nikhil (2005), Sukhmani (2010)
and I Am (2011).

“Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve done a regular commercial movie,” the actor agrees. “The last one was Bhootnath (2008). So, it was a welcome relief to shoot for SOS—Son Of Sardar in Patiala last year. It’s a comedy with lots of cute, quirky characters and funny lines.”

The rom-com revolves around two Punjabi families living in havelis (bungalows) out in the country. Juhi is a slightly dehati (rustic) Sardarni opposite Sanjay Dutt. “It’s such a coincidence that the last film I shot with Sanju, Safari (1999), also had Tanujaji (actor Tanuja), and now I’m working with both of them again,” she says, remembering how on a rainy morning during an outdoor shoot in Tekri on the Kerela-Tamil Nadu border, Sanjay had made tea for the unit. “I pretended to be a spot boy, holding an umbrella over his head while he poured the tea from the kettle into little glasses.” More

Juhi Chawla Breaks The Ice On Shahrukh

Juhi Chawla is probably regreting her outburst to a newspaper recently when she claimed that Shah Rukh Khan did ‘too little too late,’ referring to his acknowledgment of her brother Bobby Chawla, who has been in a state of coma in hospital for a long time, at the music launch of Ra.One. Chawla was the CEO of SRK’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment, and had helped the actor set it up.

At a recent event, the actress claimed the outburst was the result of emotions she has been carrying it for a while now. “The other day I was coming back from (photographer) Gautam Rajadhyaksha’s condolence meet when the media asked what I thought of him (Shah Rukh Khan). In that emotional state, I said why do we talk about a person when he is not around? How many times have we said how much person means to us when that person is around? The whole thing was blown out of proportion by the media. There’s nothing like ‘Juhi lashes out at SRK.’” More

Juhi Chawla Feels That Television Is The Best Option After Films

Whether it’s Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, Raveena Tandon or Madhuri Dixit, many of Bollywood’s top actresses have made their presence felt on the small screen and the medium gives them a career choice after films, says Juhi Chawla, who is returning to the tube.

“The fact that TV gives me life beyond films is what I find very interesting. It keeps you in circulation. In earlier days, for an actress, it was the silver screen and after that nothing because there were no avenues. Today at least we are in a world where there are avenues, where you can enjoy yourself, still being an actor, still being a celebrity but lending yourself in other ways,” Juhi told in an interview.

Heroines in Bollywood do not enjoy too long a career span as opposed to male actors. But Juhi feels TV has given them an option. Top actresses have made their presence felt on the small screen, the medium gives them a career choice after films. More

A New Cricket Stadium Is What Shahrukh & Juhi Are Talking About

Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan, chirpy Juhi Chawla and her hubby Jai Mehta are all set to develop a cricket stadium in Porbandar, Gujarat.

Apparently, the troika has zeroed in on Mahatma Gandhi`s birthplace because Jai`s family has roots there. Interestingly, the owners Kolkata Knight Riders plan to take over the Duleep cricket ground in Porbandar to build a stadium to be named after Jai’s grandfather – Nanji Kalidas Mehta in its place.

Apart from adding strength to Gujarat`s cricket program, it will also provide training camps to KKR.

Talking to a daily, a source said, “The local district cricket association and Mehta Sports Private Limited recently inked a deal to build the Nanji Kalidas Mehta stadium at a cost of almost Rs 10 crore.”

“They have decided on a three-tiered approach. First they plan to make at least 12 pitches, then the dressing rooms and finally the stands. UK-based David Hemstock Associates will develop the outfield and dressing rooms.” Source

Happy Birthday Juhi Chawla

The girl with her most endearing smile turns 42 today. She is none other than Juhi Chawla, today’s Birthday Girl.

This cutie made her dream debut with the smash hit Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, and with this very film itself, she became the dream of every cinegoer! During her heydays, her mere name in the film was good enough for the theater owners to laugh all the way till the bank.

Even though she has bid adieu to Bollywood  the cine goers just do not seem to be in a mood to see her off Bollywood! Maybe that explains the reasons why she was recently seen in films like Bhootnath, Kismat Konnection, Krazzy 4 etc.

Amitabh Bachchan – The Genius Genie

genie1.jpg

Amitabh Bachchan will be back with a bang this November with Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh, Juhi Chawla, Sameera Reddy and Jackie Fernandez. His forthcoming movie is a Sujoy Ghosh flick titled as Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen  playing Genius, the Genie where Ritesh will be the Aladin. The music is given by the duo Vishal & Shekhar. Currently the movie is in its production stage and is set to roll in the theatres on 21 November 2008.

If news are to be believed, Ayesha Takia was also a part of this project but due to some problems she had to make a cut out of the film. Director Sujoy Ghosh’s first film was Jhankar Beats which didn’t spread the magic of its beats too much. But we surely hope that this film will do a definite Jadoo in his career.
