No bling and shimmer for a wedding dress? That’s rare! But for Genelia D’Souza’s wedding ensemble, the ace fashion designer Ritu Kumar has created a regal, elegant dress which is a far cry from the usual glitzy, over-the-board wedding attire.
The veteran designer, who likes to blend tradition with modernity, and uses the rich embroidery heritage of India for her bridal collection, has once again visited history for Genelia. Ritu wanted to avoid the usual bling and shimmer for Genelia’s wedding trousseau because she didn’t want clothes to overshadow the actress’ vivacious personality. “The silhouette which I designed for her (Genelia) is simple yet elegant and chic,” says Ritu Kumar.
Ritu Kumar has designed two dresses for Genelia, and for the wedding day, Kumar has designed a lehanga, choli and odhni in gold and indigo blue for Ritesh Deshmukh’s bride. The blouse is made of indigo blue velvet with antique dhapka embroidery, while the lehanga has antique gold weaving with zardozi embroidery. According to the designer, the wedding ensemble of Genelia resembles a 19th century archival piece. More

With never-ending media glare on their wedding, actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia have apparently made a few alterations in their wedding plans! They have decided to make their wedding a very private affair, moving away from an opulent public marriage ceremony.
According to sources, the wedding will be a private affair and only people close to both Deshmukh and D’Souza families will be invited. There will be a reception bash however efforts are being made to tone down the budget.
“Right now, both the families have agreed that they don’t want a very public wedding and that the guest list will be kept limited. The wedding, as the couple wants, should be kept limited to 1,000 people and not more than that. Considering the clout of the Deshmukh family, it is a very low figure. However, there will be separate invites sent out for separate functions,” a source said. Source

The live wire actress Genelia D’Souza would no longer be a part of Bol Bachchan. Though she was supposed to star opposite Abhishek Bachchan in this Rohit Shetty film, there were some differences that cropped up between the makers and the actress over the last few days due to which this decision was taken. A hunt is now on for the second lead in this film that has Ajay Devgn and Asin topping the cast with Abhishek joining in as well.
“For Genelia, this could have been a big ticket into a big Bollywood commercial film”, informs a source, “In fact she was banking upon the film a lot since this Rohit has an impeccable record when it comes to delivering hits. Moreover the film is said to be a remake of a cult classic like Golmaal (the old one starring Amol Palekar) which means a successful outing was guaranteed.”
However, Genelia would have to wait for a while now since there were issues that had started cropping up even before the film had gone on floors. Source

John Abraham and beauty doll Genelia D’souza took realism to new heights when the duo were shooting a wedding sequence at Malshej Ghat for their upcoming release ‘Force.’
Apparently, John and Genelia, who will be seen together for the first time in Vipul Shah’s ‘Force’, almost got married to each other on the sets of the film. The actors were in a wedding sequence and were stopped almost before completing the saat pheras.
Talking to a daily, a source said, “We were shooting in Malshej Ghat and there was this old temple where we had got a local maharaj for the wedding sequence. Unfortunately the pandit has never witnessed a wedding and did not understand the concept of ‘cut’ and ‘action’ while shooting. It was a multi-camera set-up and so we needed to have minimum shots. However whenever Nishikant Kamath would say cut, the pandit would not stop. Finally after the sixth phera someone from the unit realized that the mantras were real and if not stopped John and Genelia would be actually married. So, they were stopped before the final round.” Source
