Shah Rukh Khan was her first co-star in Om Shanti Om,  but it is actor Salman Khan, who is on the wish list of Deepika Padukone. “I am really looking forward to work with Salman,” Deepika told.

“In fact we were supposed to be paired up much earlier but then a couple of films didn’t quite work out. That’s sad but I am sure that in near future, we would be paired opposite each other,” said the actress, who will next be seen with Farhan Akhtar in Karthik Calling Karthik.

While Deepika’s track record shows that she has been enjoying a release once every six months ever since the release of Om Shanti Om, the frequency is all set to increase in the coming months. Soon after Karthik Calling Karthik (February), Deepika would be seen in Housefull (April). Either Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se or her film with Neil Nitin Mukesh would be her next release thereafter. The sizzling beauty Deepika Padukone is on cloud nine these days. Last night, she was the privileged Bollywood personality to have dinner with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and 20 cabinet ministers at the PM’s residence at 10 Janpath, in Delhi. The dinner was organised in honour of Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama and his wife Miyuki Hatoyama, who are currently on a visit to India.
 
The Japanese PM and his wife are huge Bollywood fans and expressed their desire to meet Deepika. They loved her in her debut film, Om Shanti Om (2007).

When Deepika got a call from the PM’s office asking her if she would like to attend the dinner, she immediately agreed. Pleased as punch, she even took a day off from the shooting of Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se in Goa to make it for the dinner. She wore a saree by Manish Malhotra for the occasion. We spoke to Deepika before the dinner. She said, “It is a privilege and honour for me to be invited for this dinner. I am excited and nervous at the same time.” Source

The diva Deepika Padukone Sunday unveiled the 2010 edition of Kingfisher’s swimsuit special calendar.
“In the beginning of my career, I was a part of the calendar and it’s becoming better every year. Girls in this calendar have done a fantastic job,” said Deepika, who figured in the 2006 calendar.
“It’s of international standards and it’s one of the best calendars in the world,” she added.

Asked if featuring in the calendar was a good platform to enter Bollywood, Deepika said: “Well, I didn’t use it as a platform to enter the film industry, so I wouldn’t say that. You can’t be a model to be an actor. That’s not what I did. But yes, Farah noticed me as a model and then decided to cast me in ‘Om Shanti Om’.”

“I am very proud of 2010 edition of the Kingfisher swimsuit special,” said Vijay Mallya, UB group chairman before the calendar was unveiled at his palatial home. As Deepika hasn’t spoken about her relationship since she broke up with Ranbir, the journalists caught the opportunity to bombard her with questions about it at the launch of a skin care product. They first asked her what she would do with the RK tattoo that she had. When she didn’t answer, they asked her if the brand would come out with a cream to erase tattoos. She didn’t know what to say to that and simply didn’t answer. They then asked her if she was happy after her break-up. She then shot back saying that of course she was happy- didn’t she look happy?

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has become the brand ambassador of Johnson & Johnson’s new fairness cream.

Deepika says the fairness creams are used to even out your skin tone and protect your skin from pigmentation due to harsh sunlight. You get a sort of inner glow in your skin,” Deepika said at the launch Monday.

“Fortunately, I am blessed with good skin, so my skin care regime doesn’t change from summer to winter but apart from this I think that having a balanced meal, leading a healthy lifestyle and drinking lots of water shows its magic,” she added.  Source

According to reliable sources, after her break-up with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone has got close to another co-star. This time the name happens to be that of director turned actor Farhan Akhtar. Sources say that the two have got really close during the making of the film KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK.

Our source adds, “Deepika’s break-up with Ranbir happened while KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK was still being made. Since Farhan is her co-star, the two really bonded well to the extent that it seems Farhan is the special person in Deepika’s life.”

 Rakesh Roshan has plans to start filming the sequel to his super hero flick, ‘Krrish’ by September 2010. Playing the title role, Hrithik Roshan will however not be romancing Priyanka Chopra in this one our sources claims.

Sources further reveal, “Roshan Sr. who will be directing the film apart from producing it, is considering Deepika Padukone to the play the lead, although there has been no confirmation. While the first film in the series ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ had Preity Zinta in the lead opposite Hrithik, ‘Krrish’ featured Priyanka Chopra. There are no plans for her to return, so it remains to be seen who would step into the leading lady’s role.”

Letting us in the secret, our source further reveals that Rakesh has zeroed down on a plotline where ‘Krrish’ battles his evil counterpart in the sequel. Apparently, Rakesh is keen on having Hrithik play a grey character ever since he saw his performance in ‘Dhoom 2’. ‘Krrish’ will be seen saving the 7 wonders of the world, which makes a perfect foil to include extensive shots of diverse foreign locations.
