Southern beauty Asin Thottumkal, who stepped into Bollywood three years back and has already worked with bigwigs like Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, says that she finds herself lucky to have got such opportunities.

“I do find myself lucky because in the film industry there are a lot of factors that probably result in success. You need talent and discipline but somewhere you need to have that X factor also. What that X factor is, whether that’s luck, or god’s grace or the wishes of all the people around you, that is open to interpretation.

“But I think that that one factor that helps is definitely with me otherwise I wouldn’t have got all these opportunities to work with these bigwigs of the industry,” Asin told. More

Reportedly Asin, the most beloved actress of the South, has no time for South Indian films.

“Right now, I have not signed any South movie because Housefull 2 has taken up most of my dates and I couldn’t accommodate anything else,” she was quoted as saying.

The actress is currently busy with Housefull 2, after which she will soon team up with Bollywood badshah Shahrukh Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj’s cinematic interpretation of Chetan Bhagat’s book ’2 States: The Story of my Marriage’. Source

Southern siren Asin is among those lucky few actors, who got the chance to work with superstars of Bollywood – Aamir Khan and Salman Khan from day one. While with Aamir she has done one film-GHAJINI (2008) and with Salman two films now – LONDON DREAMS and READY. Both the stars have their unique style of working.

Comparing the styles of two superstars, Asin says, “Salman is quite spontaneous in front of camera and there is not much of a discussion. He comes and does his own things. You have to be really alert while the camera is running because you don’t know what he is going to come up with. You have to give appropriate reaction and can’t look like ‘oh my god what do I do’ types. He is there and you have to be ready for whatever he throws at you.

On the other hand, Aamir is somebody who’ll probably sit with you and/or director before the camera starts rolling and discuss it why don’t we do like this and get the approval of the director before actually going in front of camera. But, ultimately he will go with what director wants. So you are at least sure what is actually going to happen in front of camera.” More

It is now confirmed that South Indian beauty Asin will be the heroine opposite Shahrukh Khan in his next film titled 2 States, a screen adaption of Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller ‘Two States’. Earlier, there were rumours that either Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone might be the heroine.

Notably, Asin has already shared screen space with the other two Khans (Aamir Khan in Ghajini and Salman Khan in London Dreams and Ready). 2 States is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. Sajid Nadiadwala is the producer.

2 States chronicles the life of a young couple Krish and Ananya, who belong to Delhi and Tamil Nadu respectively. They meet while studying at IIM, Ahmadabad. Their parents are against their ‘cross cultural’ marriage. Source

Here’s some really spicy news for all. South Indian beauty Asin Thottumkal and Neil Nitin Mukesh could well be the next B-Town couple.

Buzz has it that the lady who has been cast opposite Neil in Ravi Chopra’s upcoming flick ‘Pocketmaar’ has been having a gala time in the company of legendry singer Mukesh’s grandson.

Apparently, the two actors have been seeking advice from each other on what kind of roles they should opt for. Neil has even been suggesting what brand of car Asin should go for.

Like all lovebirds, Asin and Neil have tried hard to keep their relationship under wraps.

Neil had recommended Asin’s name to director Hriday Shetty to cast her opposite him in the filmmaker’s flick. And Neil’s demand to have her on board raised a lot of eyebrows. On being approached, Asin took Shetty by surprise.

Talking to the tabloid, a source said, “Hriday was shocked when Asin not only refused the offer but also told him the role wouldn`t suit Neil either.” More

Though Asin must be on cloud nine given the fact that her forthcoming film READY is making the right noise, but here’s something Asin needs to worry about.

Firstly, READY being Salman’s film means that all eyes are going to be on him. This film belongs to Salman solely and Asin needs to worry about this fact. So, far she has been completely overshadowed by his stardom.

According to trade observers, “Asin is facing the same situation as she faced with her debut film -GHAJINI. That film was completely dominated by Aamir’s stardom and READY is proving to be the same. Though on the film front READY might be a lucky draw for Asin, but on an individual front it can’t do much for her as the presence of Salman is bound to take all attention away from her. And to tell the truth, it is already apparent in the promotions of the film.”

Though Asin might be talking to all and sundry about her next big release, but the fact that her act is getting overshadowed by Salman’s charisma should be a cause of worry at the same time. Source

Asin entered Bollywood with one of the biggest blockbusters Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan but after that she did only one film (London Dreams) and seems to have gotten lost in oblivion. If you too are wondering what Asin is up to, you’re in for a surprise. For the first time, Asin will shed h er inhibitions and be seen sporting swimwear in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 2.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, “The whole idea was to make her undergo the same transformation that Aishwarya Rai underwent for Dhoom 2.”

Buzz is that Aki Narula, who designed for Ash in Dhoom 2, will design for Asin. She will, reportedly, be seen in sizzling swimwear and sexy sarongs.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed the news and told the tabloid, “Yes it is. The film will be shot at places like Italy and Greece and such costumes are necessary for this script.”

Even Sajid Khan was all praise for the south superstar, “I am very excited about working with Asin; not only is she a very good actor and dancer but also a superstar in the south. Our script demanded her in a new look, which will surprise the audience completely.” Source

Guess getting exhausted is pretty much in vogue. One constantly hears about ever-so-busy star females like Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif getting all tired and worked up due to their hectic schedules month after month. Recently one also heard about how Vidya Balan was managing only a couple of hours of sleep for days (or shall we say nights?) at stretch.

Now it seems Asin too hasn’t been spared of this ongoing phenomenon. Says a close friend of the actress, “Asin is extremely tired as her commitments are wrapping up post mid-night. She reaches home by 2:00-2:30 AM, crashes on to her bed and then has to be ready by 8 AM in the morning to report for her shoot. These are really hectic times for her.” 

One wonders though what is keeping Asin busy for so long. After all ever since the release of LONDON DREAMS late last year, she hasn’t been seen in any other Hindi film. Also, the only Bollywood film that she is currently working on is READY.

“In fact READY is one of the many things that is keeping her on her toes literally 24X7″, continues Asin’s friend, “Now that release date of READY has been announced for May, the film is making brisk progress to meet the deadline. She recently shot the first song of READY for four days continuously in Film City, Mumbai.” More

If this titbit is true, then Asin is just trying to be happy with whatever comes her way. Earlier the actress had set out on B-town journey with a determination that she will share the screen only with exclusive stars like the Khans and Hrithik Roshan. Moreover, she had even rejected film offers which had current young screen heartthrobs Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan….

However of late, the industry is abuzz that Asin has allegedly signed a movie, starring Neil Nitin Mukesh. Titled ‘Pocketmaar’, the film will be helmed by Ravi Chopra.

Grapevines reveal that something is brewing between the two actors and both seems to be feeling quite comfortable in each others company.

Some also say that ‘Pocketmaar’ was initially offered to several leading actresses, but due to certain issues they rejected the film and it landed in Asin’s court.

Well, now one can expect clarification reports tumbling from the concerned parties…. But till then one can be assured that Asin is here to stay in Bollywood gossip columns for sure. Source

In a dramatic move that’s likely to set collective tongues wagging in cinedom, Asin Thottumkal thumbed down an offer to be cast in a… Boney Kapoor production!

This, when Sridevi and Boney Kapoor are her acknowledged Godparents in B Town; besides, reports of Sridevi and her two cuties being expressly close to Asin too have constantly buzzed the mediavine.

Sources close to the actress, however, aver that the decision was inevitable in the face of circumstances.

States a reliable insider, “Asin starts shooting for a South film whose working title is ‘Bodyguard’ and then she’s also got the second schedule of ‘Ready’ to complete. Besides, these she’s being considered for two projects which are still very hush hush.”

Adds the source, “Asin had to turn down Vipul Shah’s offer for the same reason. She likes to work on one project at a time and she really has no dates to spare until next year. She’s not really had the time to sit down with Sridevi and explain matters in detail. Fingers are being crossed that Asin’s decisions don’t cost her dearly.” Source
