Vivek Oberoi has been selected to play the villain in Rakesh Roshan’s forthcoming film, Krrish 3. The role demanded “an ultra-cool, stylish person. He is intelligent, edgy, witty, smart and evil – somewhat like the Joker in the Batman series.”

Hritihik Roshan plays three characters in the film – a father, son and grandson. If possible, he would have played the role of a villain as well, but his father (and director of the film) was adamant that the role of the bad guy be played by Vivek Oberoi. Sources say that Ajay Devgn was also one of the contenders for the role. Rakesh says that since Hrithik was already playing three roles, it was impossible for him to also play the antagonist. More

Vivek Oberoi, who kick started his Tinsel Town journey with a big splash is finding newer ways to revamp his career. The talented yet troubled actor has decided not to work in Vishesh Film’s latest production. He was happy with the script but was keener to work with Hrithik Roshan in ‘Krissh 3’.

Talking to a tabloid, a source revealed, “Vivek heard out the Bhatts. He quite liked the role. But he had a problem. Vivek is very excited about Rakesh Roshan`s next, Krrish 3.”

Junior Oberoi, who self-destroyed his blooming stardom in B-town by rubbing Salman Khan the wrong way has now teamed up with Hrithik Roshan.

HR and Sallu’s relationship turned sour when the latter criticized Hrithik’s film ‘Guzarish’ directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Salman and SLB were one thickest of friends in the industry.

Apparently junior Roshan and kid Oberoi were spotted sharing a gala time at a bash recently.
An eyewitness said, “They both were talking about Krrish 3 in the party too. They looked very comfortable with each other. Looked like Vivek has now become Hrithik`s best friend.” More

After a grand wedding in Bangalore, newly weds Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva hosted an equally grand  reception party in Mumbai on Sunday.

Vivek was dressed in dark velvet sherwani and Priyanka in a blue and green velvet lehenga.

Suresh Oberoi, expressed his happiness by saying that he now had two daughters.

The macho Vivek Oberoi married Priyanka Alva, daughter of late Karnataka political leader Jeevraj Alva, here Friday. The 28-year-old Priyanka is a Business Management graduate from Britain. Her mother Nandini is a well known classical dancer.

Jeevraj Alva, a Janata Dal-United leader and a minister in the Ramakrishna Hegde ministry in Karnataka, passed away in 2001. The wedding, both in Karnataka and Punjabi style, took place at the sprawling farm house of Alvas in north Bangalore.

The Oberois — father Suresh Oberoi was also a leading Hindi film actor — will host a reception in Mumbai Sunday. The pre-wedding ceremonies began Thursday and continued till Friday evening when the ‘barat` reached Alva`s house.

Vivek Oberoi doesn’t believe in moving on or so it seems. The actor, who has been trying for long to mend fences with the Bachchans has now gone a step ahead to break the ice as he personally went to invite Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya for his wedding on Oct 29.

And even though his helpless pleas for forgiveness have often been met with a cold shrug by the unforgiving Jr Bachchan, Vivek is leaving no stones unturned to change that equation.
 
As per reports, Oberoi went across to Mehboob Studios in Bandra to invite his ex Aishwarya Rai’s husband, Abhishek Bachchan, for his wedding on October 29.

And Vivek took director Apoorva Lakhia’s help to call Abhishek. Sources state that Vivek called up Apoorva to help him invite Bachchan Jr. It’s a known fact that the Oberois and the Bachchans have always shared bad vibes, owing to Aishwarya Rai. And even though Vivek has been trying to make peace the Bachchans for long, he has been unsuccessful in his efforts.

When contacted by a news daily, Lakhia said, “I didn’t take Vivek to Mehboob Studios. I had gone to meet Abhishek, who was shooting there for Rohan Sippy’s film Dum Maro Dum. I made Abhishek and Vivek talk on the phone, which is when Vivek invited Abhishek for his wedding.” Source

Recently at the IIFA Awards the entire industry got together and decided that since Salman Khan was in the vicinity, they were going to collaboratively avoid Vivek Oberoi. It has been eons since Salman and Vivek found themselves at war with one another with regards to Aishwarya Rai. However, the ill-feelings harbored by Khan often filters to people around him and thus, they too feel the need to snub Oberoi.

Recently during the Colombo hosted IIFA Award weekend, a number of stars steered away from Vivek including normally good friends Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. According to sources, “A lot of stars present at the after party were avoiding Vivek. But it was surprising to see that even Saif and Kareena maintained their distance, because they are good friends with him.” The stars believed that it wouldn’t be a good idea to be caught or seen chatting and mingling with Vivek. “Salman himself didn’t say a word or even look in Vivek’s direction, but the cold vibes were apparent,” the source added.

While Saifeena didn’t completely avoid Vivek, they chose not to hang out with him. An anonymous informant at the event said, “It was very apparent that Saif and Kareena were avoiding Vivek. After so many fights and dramas there is finally a good news in bollywood. It seems that Sanjay Dutt has finally forgiven Bollywood’s jinxed actor Vivek Oberoi for his unceremonious remarks against his wife Manyata, as the former was seen hugging Vivek in public.
 
It is believed that the cold war between Sanjay and Vivek started almost four years ago, when Vivek made nasty comments against Manyata Dutt, whom Sanjay had just begun dating. However, Vivek’s curt remarks enraged Sanjay to such an extent that the latter cut off all his ties with the erring star.

Talking to a daily, a source said, “It was quite a shock to see Sanjay walk up to Vivek and give him a hug. Sanjay’s gesture was quite sweet, and Vivek too returned him a big hug. It looked like one big happy family once again.”

Meanwhile, a source close to Vivek confirmed the news and said, “Vivek is very touched by this magnanimous gesture of Sanju. In the past, he had sent SMSs to clear the misunderstanding, but Sanjay seemed very upset with him then. Now that everything is sorted, Vivek is happy to revive his old friendship with Dutt.” More
