Akshay & Vivek - Having Great Time Together

New Year has many surprises for everyone in Bollywood. Vivek Oberoi and Akshay Kumar are becoming thick friends these days. Yesterday, the two bonded over some good Punjabi lunch at the Mehboob studios where Akshay was shooting for his upcoming film PATIALA HOUSE.  Actually, Vivek Oberoi has a new obsession these days. The actor is so attached with his new Ducati bike that he makes it a point to ride it wherever he goes. The meeting with Akshay Kumar too was in connection with his new machine.

Says Vivek, “I met Akshay Kumar and we shared some great food and conversation around my new bike. Akshay is also fond of bikes and when he heard that I have got the latest Ducati, he wanted to check it out. Today, I was also shooting nearby so I decided to show him my latest possession and he really admired it.”

This bonding between Akshay Kumar and Vivek Oberoi points to a new friendship in the making in B-Town. Well, though the two bonded over their passion for bikes, but will the two bond over for some big hit too? Let’s watch out for that. Source

The Discomfort Between Aishwarya Rai & Vivek Oberoi

In this small world Aishwarya Rai has had two encounters with as many ex beaus in a span of few days. As reported earlier, she found herself face to face with Salman Khan while shooting at a Mumbai studio. Now, on Saturday, she was seated just an arm’s distance away from Vivek Oberoi at a Mumbai police event named ‘Jashn 2010-Dhamaka Bollywood Ka’.

Ash was seated in the first row at the function. Shockingly, the organizers had placed Vivek’s seat very close to Ash. There was only one seat between the two. Vivek was obviously hesitant to sit there, but relented after persuasion by the organizers. On top of it, Manish Malhotra, who was supposed to be seated between Ash and Vivek wasn’t on his seat. So when Vivek took his seat, there was an evident discomfort between Ash and him.

We hear that Ash even looked at Vivek for a split second. Vivek too turned and looked at her. Both of them were uncomfortable. But the drama didn’t last long. Manish Malhotra, who had perhaps sensed their discomfort, rushed back to his seat. Vivek still wasn’t comfortable, after a few minutes he left his seat. Source

Vivek Oberoi’s Double Game

Now don’t get us wrong, it’s not like the actor’s seeing two women at the same time. Rather, Vivek Oberoi is practicing to write with both his hands!

Why’s that you ask? Well, that’s because the actor plays an ambidextrous man in his next film Prince — It’s Showtime, and wanted to perfect the way it looks on screen.

“I had white boards in my home and two markers. I would wake up in the mornings and would start writing simultaneously on it, so it looks great when you’re shooting these sequences,” says Vivek. Source

Vivek Oberoi Says “I Am Done With Apologising To Salman”

We all know that Vivek Oberoi begged many a times for an apology from Salman Khan who has always given him cold shoulder. But the Kurbaan lad seems no more in mood to befriend the miffed Khan. In a recent conversation with Koel Puri he says, “I am done with apologising.”

The actor is also claims that he is not afraid Salman’s physical strength over and states that should there be a fight between the two, he will hold his ground against Khan. Doesn’t that sound like an invitation to fight? Here are excerpts from the chat that airs on November 28 on Headlines Today.

Koel: I watched your recent interview with Farah and in context to Salman you said, ‘hum mard ki tarah ek dosare ko mar sakte hai, mere bhi do haath hai… and all this. If you actually got into a fisticuffs with him, who would win?

Vivek: Umm…I really don’t know, I mean it kinda sounds like the expected answer would be obviously the brawn man. But umm… it doesn’t really work that way. I mean, I’ve had my share of fights and I think I can hold my own. I don’t think it’s about a size of a bicep, it’s the intent and speed of a fist hitting a vital point that determines a fight. More

Vivek Oberoi - Finally Getting The Attention & Recognition

You won’t believe it but this is the fact. In Saif-Kareena’s Kurbaan, it is Vivek Oberoi all the way. The young actor, who started his career with a bang in Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Company’, has hogged all limelight playing a stellar role. Interestingly the details about his role in the film were kept under wraps until its release.

One to watch out for in the movie, Vivek has impressed one and all. The actor who made some memorable roles in films like ‘Saathiya’, ‘Yuva’ and ‘Shoot Out at Lokhandwala’, should be thanking his stars for bagging a plum role in ‘Kurbaan’.

“Terrorism is the worst issue being faced by all over the world. I am doing a very important role in Kurbaan,” he says.

Buzz is that Vivek is hoping to scale heights with a lineup of impressive films under production – ‘Prince’ and ‘Raktha Charithra’, produced and directed by his mentor Ram Gopal Varma. Source

The Reason Behind Vivek Oberoi’s Absence From Kurbaan Promos

Though Vivek Oberoi is a part of upcoming film ‘Kurbaan’, promos feature only Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Director Rensil D`Silva says his role is so deeply affiliated to the plot`s suspense that if exposed too much, it can give away the story. The director discussed the problem with Vivek.

“I`ve spoken to Vivek and explained the dilemma. He was cool with not being featured in the promos that much. He said to do whatever is right for the film because when the film opens the truth about the extent of his role will be out,” D`Silva told reporters. “Vivek has worked very hard in the film. He had to acquire a true New Yorker`s accent and not the kind Indians get at the John F. Kennedy airport. We had a couple of New Yorkers on the sets to coach him.

D`Silva shoots down the rumours that Vivek has a cameo in ‘Kurbaan’?

“Not true at all. Vivek is in 80 percent of the film. He`s central to the drama. He was in my room in Philadelphia every night to discuss his diction, dialogues and looks. I see his career at the cusp of something really exciting,” said the director. Source

Vivek Oberoi To Grow His Beards

His bonding with Ramu is back in this upcoming flick. Vivek Oberoi is preparing well for his role in Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film, Rakta Charitra, which will have Vivek playing Paritala Ravi.

The role requires him to grow his hair and beard. He plans to step out of the house only when his beard is all grown to see if people recognize him.

Vivek is so serious about his role that he is planning to meet Naxalites in Chattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. Judging by Ramu and Vivek’s past record, let’s see how well that movie turns out! Source

Vivek Oberoi & Ritesh Deshmukh With Farah Khan On Tere Mere Beach Mein

This week’s episode on Tere Mere Beach Mein will see Ritiesh Deshmukh, Sreesanth and Vivek Oberoi confessing the decisions they took that turned out to be disasters. Not surprising this episode’s theme is Socha Na Tha.

“Vivek bashing had become a trend,” Vivek told Farah on the show. He further went on to say, “I remember one day when I returned after my shoot and saw my mom crying. I asked ‘Kya hua’. She replied, ‘Till when will they keep hitting at my son. I’m a mother, I too feel bad!’ And then she added, ‘I am proud of you. Had it been anyone else by now, he would be in a mental hospital or taking drugs or become an alcoholic.’”

Vivek spoke about the controversial press conference he called years ago against Salman when he was dating Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Finally when Farah asked him ‘Kya aap poori tarah se unhe bhoola chuke hain?’ referring to Aishwarya, Vivek gave a confident reply in the positive. More

Vivek Oberoi To Do An Item Song In South

The male item song is gaining heat for a few years now - and not just in Bollywood, where sexy Shah Rukh Khan has been flashing his megawatt smile and glistening abs in songs like ‘Mast Kalander’. The trend is moving south to Sandalwood where director Ashok Kashyap has roped Vivek Oberoi into an item song for his Kannada language film Sihi Muthu.

Vivek’s song will be shot with a huge budget of Rs. 40 lakhs and Ashok Kashyap will be directing it personally. Mr. Kashyap is probably best known for his work as a cinematographer for the hit Kannanda-language film Joke Falls, which was based on the classic Bollywood film Chupke Chupke. Sihi Muthu, however, has an original story written by Mr. Kashyap’s wife Rekha Rani, and will be a heroine-driven film about a girl (played by debutante Pooja) who is searching for five different people who have helped her in her past.

Despite being overshadowed by the bigger South Indian industries of Tolly and Kollywood, Kannada-language films are well respected and have attracted such actors as Amitabh Bachchan, who did a rare guest appearance in the 2005 film Amrithadare. Vivek’s charisma and star power should give Sihi Muthu, which has been filming since 2008, a bump at the box office worthy of any item queen! Source
