Salman Khan’s Mental suffers Rs.25 crore loss

Producer-director Sohail Khan and actor Salman Khan‘s forthcoming film Mental seems to have hit a hurdle, as the movie already has incured a loss of Rs.25 crore due to a tiff between stuntmen from Mumbai and those from the South. Salman Khan has lost around 12 days of shooting for his film Mental.

Producer-director Sohail Khan has hired a leading South Indian fight master for the film.As per the All India Film Employees Confederation (AIFEC), 70% of the fighters have to be local (in this case, from the Hindi film industry) and 30% from the region of the fight master. But fighters from the South refused to shoot, demanding 50% of their men be hired for the action scenes.A leading tabloid quoted a source as saying, “The unit had to return within a week even though it was a 15-day schedule in Kolhapur because the fighters refused to shoot. There was another schedule in Lavasa, which was a continuity sequence from a Dubai shoot, that needed the same fighters. There too, the Film Employees’ Federation of South India (FEFSI) refused to send their stuntmen.”

Dharmesh Tiwari, President of AIFEC, said, “The FEFSI is not ready to follow the rule passed in March 2013, and they are forcing the producer to take 50% of their fighters.”It is learnt that producers and AIFEC are now contemplating on boycotting South Indian fighters.
This disturbing turn of events has forced several filmmakers to replace South Indian action directors with local ones.

A 70 Year Old Women Dies From Sohail Khan’s Car

A 70-year-old pavement dweller was crushed to death under Salman khan’s brother, Arbaaz Khan’s Land Cruiser car in Mumbai last night. The car was being driven by his brother Sohail Khan’s driver, Dhananjaya Pimpale. Neither of the actor’s brothers were in the car.

“The accident happened by mistake. I spoke to my driver and he said when he was driving, he saw something like a black polythene bag on the road, but it was the lady who was completely in black. I would request everyone not to sleep on the road,” Salman told reporters at their Galaxy apartment home in Bandra.

“It was most unfortunate. The woman suddenly came in front of the vehicle and fell. The driver immediately applied the brakes and reported the matter to the police,” Salim Khan tells

Sohail Khan reacted to the incident by saying: “It’s saddening that a lady lost her life when my driver was coming back home. I was at home, I came to know about it after an hour. I was shocked.”

An autorickshaw driver, who saw the accident happen last night alleged that the car hit the woman and then ran her over, but the driver didn’t stop. Another eyewitness said he and a constable rushed the victim to the Bhabha Hospital. “But no doctor was attending to her; half an hour was wasted there. They told us to take the woman out of the hospital,” he said. She was later declared dead at the hospital.

Ten years back, big brother, Salman Khan, had run his Land Cruiser (Mh 01 DA 32) over some pavement dwellers in Bandra, killing one and injuring three persons.

Will Sohail Khan Direct Dabangg 2 ?

As we all know, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding DABANGG 2, the sequel to the all time blockbuster, Abhinav Kashyap’s DABANGG, a buzz doing the rounds in the film circle surprised one and all who got to hear about it.

As per the grapevine, the sequel to DABANGG is definitely happening but it is going to be Sohail Khan who may be directing the sequel and not Abhinav Kashyap. Rumour has it that the reason behind the drastic change is that after the superlative success of DABANGG, Abhinav has hiked his price to 18 crore and therefore the fall out with the producer, Arbaaz Khan, which led to Sohail Khan stepping in.

However there has been no official confirmation from either side and it’s still early days to jump to any conclusion regarding the director of DABANGG 2. Source

Sohail Khan Loses His Calm In Public

Actor-director Sohail Khan lost his cool recently when his sister Arpita Khan complained of discomfort at one of the plush hangouts in the city.

There was a loud altercation between Sohail and the socialite in question and finally the matters stopped short of a big altercation.

Though Sohail’s elder brother Salman might be making waves for his hit film DABANGG, but looks like he has inherited losing his cool like his bro at the drop of a hat. Source

Salman Invites His Brothers On Dus Ka Dum

khans.jpg

No wonder when Arbaaz and Sohail Khan came on Salman’s show Dus Ka Dum it was a joyride although.

The youngest of the three brothers – Sohail got eliminated in the very first round, while Arbaaz moved on to play the main game. However, Sohail feels his defeat was a conspiracy.

“Both of them have played total politics against me, even the audience misguided me,” jokes Sohail. But when even Arbaaz failed to win the huge prize money, brother Sohail was rather upset.

“Arbaaz said before coming on the show, Khali haat aaye the, khali haat jayenge aur hum khali haat hi gaye (We came empty handed, will leave empty handed and it’s true as we left empty handed from the show,” says Sohail.

Salman and Sohail on the other hand, did not miss out on a single opportunity to pull brother Arbaaz’s leg. But Arbaaz it seems is not complaining. “I am the always the target for jokes in the house. They have laughs at my cost, but the family sticks together in moments of crisis,” says Arbaaz. The brothers will be seen together on the next episode of Dus Ka Dum. Source

Sohail Khan Upset With Priyanka Chopra

sohail.jpgSohail Khan is in no mood to forget, forgive and move on when it comes to committments. He is still upset with Priyanka for refusing Main Aur Mrs. Khanna. Now, her role has gone to Kareena Kapoor. Interestingly, Kareena had refused to do Love Story 2050 and the role came to Priyanka.

As for the reports of a row between the God Tussi Great Ho co-stars, it seems quite true. Of course, Sohail would rather not talk about it. He prefers to blow his own trumpet and in a disinterested way says, “It is one of my big releases. I went to a few theatres and saw some reactions and I’m very pleased with it.” Anyway, now that Bebo has replaced Piggy Chops in Main Aur Mrs. Khanna, he should perhaps be thankful to the latter. After all, in Bollywood, you are as saleable as your last hit. In view of Kareena and Priyanka’s career chart of late, Sohail definitely has no reason to lose sleep. Source

Arbaaz Sohail & Salman To Play Amar Akbar Anthony

khans.jpg

Bollywood brothers Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail will recreate the magic of the Seventies blockbuster Amar Akbar Anthony in a remake to be directed by none other than David Dhawan.

The comic caper about three brothers who have been separated during their childhood, had been directed by the late Manmohan Desai.
The plan is to have Salman play the role of Anthony, Arbaaz that of Amar, with Sohail to play Akbar. Katrina Kaif’s name is being thrown around to play the role made famous by the late Parveen Babi. The original Amar Akbar Anthony were Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan, and each of the three actors has done such an excellent job of etching their characters in the film that they will be a very tough act to follow. The task will be made even more ardous by the fact that neither Arbaaz or Sohail are really known for their acting skills. Neither is Salman for that matter, but he at least has stardom on his side. So it will be interesting to see how David remakes this film. Well Davidji all the best to you. Source
