One can’t deny the fact that there are a lot of expectations from DOUBLE DHAMAAL due to it being a franchise. While it is certainly expected that all four principal protagonists (Riteish, Arshad, Javed, Ashish) coordinate well to make the scene look seamless, audience is also looking forward to the film giving ‘double the entertainment’.
“I think now all four of us are pretty much in synch in each other,” says Riteish, “We all have started thinking alike. I don’t think now we would look like four actors just doing our job. We behave pretty much alike and are more like one actor in four different bodies.” More
News is that Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’souza have been signed on as a pair in a romantic-comedy, to be produced by Tips’ Kumar Taurani. The untitled project will be directed by debutant Mandeep Kumar who earlier did a Punjabi film with Taurani.
For Riteish and Genelia, this will be their third movie together – first was their debut 2003 film ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ and second, the 2004 film ‘Masti’.
The two garnered attention for being a couple, then going on and off the relationship. Riteish and Genelia even went in open to say that they are just good friends. And it is surprising that the two actors are back on the media radar with this new venture. More
Actors turning into producers is a usual sight in Bollywood now-a-days. While recently, it was actress Lara Dutta, who launched her home production house with her upcoming film Chalo Dilli, it news one to join the league is actor Riteish Deshmukh.
Actor Riteish Deshmukh will soon be turning into a producer. His first home production will be a Marathi film. All the Maharashtrain artistes will be given first preference in his film. Presently, Riteish is still looking for good scripts to go ahead with the film. The actor however, plans to release the film by next year.
The actor was last seen in Vashu Bhagnani’s comedy flick, Faltu, which turned out to be a money spinner for the makers. Source
Close watcher and pal Ram Gopal Varma had some canny advice lined up for the architect actor Ritesh Deshmukh.
Reportedly, RGV has drummed sense into Riteish… and the star will no longer essay a nerdy loser in any more flicks. Instead, Ramu wants Riteish to enact the swashbuckling hero who faces all odds valiantly and walks into a golden sunset with his damsel, sorry, heroine… who’s no longer in distress.
Incidentally, Riteish might well stride into a sunflower sunrise… with another male love interest!! The cine vine is abuzz with news that Ritty Boy could well be signed up for Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2′!
Ah, the original ‘gay’ couple: Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham are still intact in ‘Dostana 2′…. Riteish is reportedly being roped in to enact a lover in another gay pair. Come July, all cine lovers of the K Jo flick, gay or happy, will vie for Katrina Kaif in London. One lucky Kat, this. Source
This week’s episode on Tere Mere Beach Mein will see Ritiesh Deshmukh, Sreesanth and Vivek Oberoi confessing the decisions they took that turned out to be disasters. Not surprising this episode’s theme is Socha Na Tha.
“Vivek bashing had become a trend,” Vivek told Farah on the show. He further went on to say, “I remember one day when I returned after my shoot and saw my mom crying. I asked ‘Kya hua’. She replied, ‘Till when will they keep hitting at my son. I’m a mother, I too feel bad!’ And then she added, ‘I am proud of you. Had it been anyone else by now, he would be in a mental hospital or taking drugs or become an alcoholic.’”
Vivek spoke about the controversial press conference he called years ago against Salman when he was dating Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Finally when Farah asked him ‘Kya aap poori tarah se unhe bhoola chuke hain?’ referring to Aishwarya, Vivek gave a confident reply in the positive. More
Riteish Deshmukh, who has done many comedy films in his career, will essay a serious role in Ram Gopal Varma’s media-based film ‘Rann’. The actor, who will share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in the movie, will be seen in the role of a journalist.
‘I play the role of a guy named Purab Shastri. He is a beginner and believes in real journalism and that’s the reason why he joins a news channel named India 24X7,’ he said.
On being questioned about his decision to take up the role, Riteish quipped: ‘When I was doing comedy, people used to ask me why I am doing just comedies and now when I have got a chance to do something different, they are again asking me why I am doing a serious role.’
‘The thing is that I got a chance to do such a good role and that’s why when Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) asked me, I readily agreed. However, there are some comedies to come in the future,’ he added. Source
Choreographer-Filmmaker Farah Khan makes her acting debut in Milap Zaveri’s forthcoming film Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, where she plays a filmmaker in the film. Ritiesh Deshmukh on the other hand plays her assistant. A unit hand informed us that Farah who plays a successful director, doesn’t treat her assistant well. She insults him in front of everyone.
Also there is a scene in the film where Riteish brings tea to Farah, who spits it on his face when she doesn’t like it. We heard that scene took three takes to get the shot Okayed but hats off to Riteish who was sporting and gave an excellent shot. Source
Amitabh Bachchan will be back with a bang this November with Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh, Juhi Chawla, Sameera Reddy and Jackie Fernandez. His forthcoming movie is a Sujoy Ghosh flick titled as Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen playing Genius, the Genie where Ritesh will be the Aladin. The music is given by the duo Vishal & Shekhar. Currently the movie is in its production stage and is set to roll in the theatres on 21 November 2008.
If news are to be believed, Ayesha Takia was also a part of this project but due to some problems she had to make a cut out of the film. Director Sujoy Ghosh’s first film was Jhankar Beats which didn’t spread the magic of its beats too much. But we surely hope that this film will do a definite Jadoo in his career.

Vashu Bhagnani has added extra spice to Govinda and David Dhawan’s jodi by roping in Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen, Ranvir Shorey and Rajpal Yadav. The film is tentatively titled Do Not Disturb.
Excited about Do Not Disturb, Vashu says, “The correct selection of star cast is half battle won. I feel both Govinda and Riteish Deshmukh have excellent comic timing which will work wonders for the film.” Do Not Disturb goes on floors on June 15.
Besides all this, Vashu is also launching his son Jackie in Kal Kisne Dekha, which is directed by Vivek Sharma. The film goes on floors in the next few months.
In addition to all this, Bhagnani said, “I have even signed Abhishek for a film which is untitled yet. The film will be directed by Apoorva Lakhia. And I am in talks with Ken Gosh and Gautam Menon for two other films.” However, the starcast for the film is yet to be decided.
