Karan Johar is returning this week to woo the box office with a romantic comedy which coincides with the Valentine’s Day revelries. He has teamed up with the fresh pair of Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor to attract the audiences.
Directed by debutant Shakun Batra, the film’s cast has Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah and Ram Kapoor and it will be released on 1,200 screens worldwide. It is made at an approximate budget of Rs.25-30 crore.
In “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na”, Ratna had played Imran’s mother, but her character in the new film is a complete contrast. More
Promos of EK MAIN AUR EKK TU are on-air and it’s obvious that the film has been designed as a romcom. Though, one may wonder whether the film is pretty much a ‘template’ affair where the film begins with fun, then there is drama and emotional moments and eventually it is all a happy ending. With the genre catching heat in Bollywood since last few years, can we expect first time director Shakun Batra to deliver something different?
The first time director Shakun Batra says, ”See, every genre has certain conventions to be followed, whether it is a thriller, drama, action or romcom. A genre comes with its own grammar and we to play around with the script and tweak the rules while not allowing the genre to go haywire. Of course in a romcom you would have a boy and girl falling in love followed by banter. It is my job as a story teller to play with the narrative characters.” More
It is a known fact that Imran Khan has played an urban character way too often in recent times, be it MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, I HATE LUV STORYS, BREAK KE BAAD or DELHI BELLY. Now that the promos of EK MAIN AUR EKK TU are on, it is yet again visible that Imran is getting into the urban milieu all over again. In that case has it been ensured that the actor comes across as a different character in this newest outing produced by Karan Johar?
Shakun Batra, the film’s director, defends, “There is a difference. In DELHI BELLY he was someone who was staying in a small house and didn’t mind being messy. On the other hand his background is very different in EK MAIN AUR EKK TU as here he is someone who is quite obsessive about his surroundings. He is bit stiff in the film and that brings in a different arc to his performance when compared to a DELHI BELLY where he was a little goofy. Even in I HATE LUV STORYS and MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, he was playing this cool guy whereas in EK MAIN AUR EKK TU, he is slightly reserved and a typical South Bombay guy.” More

It is a known fact that Bollywood and Censor Board share a love-hate relationship. Sometimes Bollywood is not okay with Censor Board norms then sometimes Censor Board have problems with Bollywood films.
Now Karan Johar’s upcoming film EK MAIN AUR EKK TU has come under the watchful eyes of Censor Board. Since Kjo’s film uses the word ‘Sex’, the highly vigilant Censor board objecting to it has asked the filmmaker to remove the word from the trailer in order to procure a U-certificate.
However, when probed about Censor Board’s decision Karan Johar, unlike other filmmakers, took it lightly and quite sarcastically expressed his annoyance towards it. More

Matrimonial ads aren’t exactly known for their creativity or their ability to entertain. For debutant director Ali Abbas Zafar, however, the ads in the classified pages of newspapers were what inspired him to make Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
“I used to see the matrimonial page of newspapers on Sundays. It’s a very creative page. There are so many ads well written seeking brides or bridegrooms. It has ads of every caste and culture – be it Hindu, Muslim, Sikh – and what’s most interesting is that all have almost same requirement,” said Zafar.
“You will find entire India together in one page. It’s so entertaining. Then I thought that if a film is made based on that subject it could be hugely entertaining with a lot of mass appeal,” he added. More
Actor Imran Khan, who plays the role of ‘Kush’, a Dehradun based boy who starts off on a search for a bride for his reel life brother Ali Zafar in Yash Raj productions venture Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is actually a love guru in real life, said the actor recently.
