Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again Will Not Have Real Life Characters

Refuting rumours that his upcoming movie “Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again” (OUATIMA) is based on the lives of two underworld dons – Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Rajan – Akshay Kumar said it is a fictional story with no real life characters.

“Let me correct you, we are not playing real life characters,” said actor Akshay, who plays Shoaib Khan in the underworld drama, in which Imran Khan will be seen as Aslam.

He said their film is a continuation from Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, the first part of the sequel to the superhit 2010 film which had starred Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi.

“It’s a fictional film. Lot of small, small incidents have been taken and added here,” he said.

Imran added: “It is a fictional story and as Akshay said incidents are picked up, modified and used here.”

” I am playing Shoaib’s character and he is playing his character, there is nothing called real life character”, added the star at a media meet, when asked whether the duo have done any research on their respective characters.

Imran’s PIL comes up for hearing

Back in 2011, Imran Khan made news with the filing of a PIL questioning the raising of the legal drinking age limit from 21 to 25 years. The Bombay High Court has now admitted the PIL (Public Interest Litigation) filed by the actor for a final hearing.

In fact the Bombay High Court today directed the Maharashtra government to file a reply to the PIL filed by actor.

A division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice A V Mohta said that the matter requires consideration and hence it cannot grant stay on the September 2009 notification, giving the state government time till April 15 to file a response, thus admitting the petition.

Anushka Sharma Was Drunk While Shooting For Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola

Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola‘ might be about the issue of land scam, but director Vishal Bhardwaj says the tone of the film is not at all serious. “The film’s plot is based on the issue of land scam but I have not personalised this to any one,” the 52-year-old told reporters Monday at a press conference of the film.

Anushka, who is sharing screen space opposite ace actor Pankaj Kapur, who is a teetotaler, was worried about how she would pull off acting a drunk, because she had no idea how one behaves under the influence of alcohol.

What happened next was quite surprising for all. According to source, “Anushka was fretting over the scene because Pankaj is a seasoned actor. Someone suggested that she get a drink just to know what it feels like, so she did. And while rehearsing with a unit member on location in Chandigarh, she ended up having half a bottle of vodka. She got a little high too, but didn’t realise it and went off to her hotel to sleep. The next day, she had a bad hangover and slept till late into the afternoon.”

The source adds, “Anushka was very apologetic when she met Vishal (director) and Pankaj the next day, but they think highly of her and were impressed by her dedication. In fact, the entire unit was impressed that she went to such lengths for one scene.”

In fact, the entire unit was impressed that she went to such lengths for one scene.” Ironically, Anushka shot the scene successfully in just one take, without drinking.

Anushka Sharma Was Not Comfortable In Bigg Boss House

Anushka Sharma along with co-star Imran Khan of upcoming film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola recently visited the sets of Bigg Boss 6, reality show on Colors channel hosted by Salman Khan, where the actress observed feeling awkward due to Salman’s presence.

Anushka Sharma’s close association with Shahrukh Khan makes the former uncomfortable to see eye to eye with actor and host Salman Khan. Bigg Boss’ has been a big platform for any actors or filmmaker to promote their film. Anushka Sharma who is very close to Shahrukh Khan and acted in two films with him feels awkward to face Salman following her close association with SRK and his camps.

And people say this is because of her undeclared loyalty towards Salman’s arch rival and king of town Shahrukh Khan. As per sources, “Anushka made her debut with Shah Rukh Khan and was also recently seen in Jab Tak Hai Jaan which again had SRK as her co-star. She might not have chosen to get in to any camps but the industry has clearly branded her as someone close to SRK. So, it was definitely awkward for her to promote the film at Salman’s show. On the other hand, Imran is on very good terms with Salman and the feeling is very much mutual.”

Further added, “During a recent awards ceremony, it was quite evident that Anushka was not very comfortable around Salman. In fact, when her dear co-star Imran, from whom she has been pretty much inseparable these days, was speaking to Salman backstage, Anushka chose to make herself scarce. Salman and she didn’t even acknowledge each other’s presence; even Imran chose not to introduce her to Salman. Moreover, when rumors of her being in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick opposite Salman surfaced, she has chosen to deny them saying that she was never approached.”

Anushka has worked with Salman’s arch-rival Shahrukh Khan in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ but she has not yet shared screen space with Salman and moreover, the actress is quite close with SRK personally too. That the actress is very close to Shahrukh is known quite well by Salman and this very fact makes Anushka Sharma feel uncomfortable.

Anushka Sharma Feels Jealous From The pink Bull

If believe the buzz making way from sources, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is nowadays expressing her anguish before everyone saying that the pink bull is hogging all the limelight in her upcoming film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, also starring Imran Khan and Pankaj Kapoor. Albeit, in good humour.

Anushka Sharma is breathing fire at the pink bull for hogging all the limelight in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. Albeit, in good humour.

Reports suggest that the leading lady of Vishal Bhardwaj’s new film is mighty jealous of the pink bull that has been appearing in the promos on television..

Hence Anushka is not pleased with the same. Little birdie chirps, “The pink bull or the gulabi saand has been featured prominently in the promo. Anushka wants to know why instead of her, the bull is stealing all the limelight.”

Imran Khan’s Cyst Surgery Is Successful

Celebrities, the world-over often undergo some or the other surgery in order to enhance their looks. However, there are some who go under the knife for health issues as well. Actor Imran Khan belongs to the latter category. The actor has been busy shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s next Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola opposite Anushka Sharma.

However, in the meantime he had to undergo a surgery at a city hospital to get two cysts removed. There was one cyst on his head and another on his arm. They were surgically removed from his body by a reputed surgeon Dr. Anil Tibrewala. Although cysts are not dangerous in anyway, they can cause a lot of pain. Imran was facing problems while sleeping and combing his hair, thus got it treated. Apparently, the cysts were formed owing to a sebaceous gland problem. Source

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Fares Quite Well At The Box Office Today

Rahul Kapoor (Imran Khan) lives to please his parents. Riana Braganza (Kareena Kapoor) has dumped six boyfriends and lives life on her own terms. They meet in Vegas but the movie is not about What happened in Vegas.

Instead, Imran Khan as the vulnerable Rahul evolves in front of your eyes. From uptight to edgy, he grows from boy to man.

Kareena takes up from where she left off in Jab We Met. I thought this was better. She adds just the right amount of pep to Riana Braganza. Rahul and Riana don’t walk off into the sunshine. The movie has a surprising climax.

Amit Trivedi, the young music director comes with an impressive record. You’ll remember him for the tracks from Dev D which earned him the National Film Award for Best Music Direction or for Aisha. My favourite is Iktaara from Wake Up Sid. More

The Valentine Is Here For Kareena & Imran

Promos of EK MAIN AUR EKK TU are on-air and it’s obvious that the film has been designed as a romcom. Though, one may wonder whether the film is pretty much a ‘template’ affair where the film begins with fun, then there is drama and emotional moments and eventually it is all a happy ending. With the genre catching heat in Bollywood since last few years, can we expect first time director Shakun Batra to deliver something different?

The first time director Shakun Batra says, ”See, every genre has certain conventions to be followed, whether it is a thriller, drama, action or romcom. A genre comes with its own grammar and we to play around with the script and tweak the rules while not allowing the genre to go haywire. Of course in a romcom you would have a boy and girl falling in love followed by banter. It is my job as a story teller to play with the narrative characters.” More

Is There Any Lack Of Variation In Imran Khan?

It is a known fact that Imran Khan has played an urban character way too often in recent times, be it MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, I HATE LUV STORYS, BREAK KE BAAD or DELHI BELLY. Now that the promos of EK MAIN AUR EKK TU are on, it is yet again visible that Imran is getting into the urban milieu all over again. In that case has it been ensured that the actor comes across as a different character in this newest outing produced by Karan Johar?

Shakun Batra, the film’s director, defends, “There is a difference. In DELHI BELLY he was someone who was staying in a small house and didn’t mind being messy. On the other hand his background is very different in EK MAIN AUR EKK TU as here he is someone who is quite obsessive about his surroundings. He is bit stiff in the film and that brings in a different arc to his performance when compared to a DELHI BELLY where he was a little goofy. Even in I HATE LUV STORYS and MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, he was playing this cool guy whereas in EK MAIN AUR EKK TU, he is slightly reserved and a typical South Bombay guy.” More
