Known as a serial kisser of Bollywood, Emraan Hashmi calls himself a ‘selfish actor’ as he likes to play only protagonist of his films. This made the actor skeptical about signing THE DIRTY PICTURE as it is being touted out-n-out Vidya Balan film.

Emraan confesses, “Yes it’s true the thought of me not being a protagonist and Vidya getting maximum footage did cross my mind while signing the film because generally I like playing the protagonist. Because I am very selfish actor and I don’t like sharing my screen space with anyone.”

So what really transpired and made the actor ultimately take up the project?

“But then I thought come 2nd December and when the film releases people would be watching it and I’ll regret that I wasn’t a part of such a great film. Even though it wasn’t a role as big as MURDER 2 or JANNAT or RAAZ, I want to be part of this film because I kind of like its space, muje iski duniya pasand hai. I wanted to be part of this film and that’s why I did for all those selfish reasons,” reveals Emraan candidly. More

Director Milan Luthria’s upcoming film The Dirty Picture is making waves all around. Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi, Tusshar Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah starrer The Dirty Picture will be released on December 2, 2011. To exhilarate the excitement among audiences, a song video was launched lately.

The song is titled ‘Ishq Sufiyana’ and stars Vidya Balan along with Emraan Hashmi. The track is totally different from the much talked about ‘Oh La La La’ from the film.

To measure an actor’s popularity one does not need a popularity check meter. Especially in the case of an actor like Emraan Hashmi, the fans make it a point to tell with their presence what the actor means to them. This is exactly what happened in Delhi recently when Emraan was shooting for the movie JANNAT 2.

It seemed like the whole of the capital was out and about just to get a glimpse of their favourite actor. ‘His popularity has gone up many folds after MURDER-2. What we have witnessed in Delhi is one example of that very fact,’ says filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.

The popularity has gone up so much that logistically it has become a nightmare of sorts to shoot even a scene in the outdoors with Emraan, without a delay. The shoot of a sequence that used to finish in a day’s time, now takes at least three days to finish because a lot of time goes in managing the crowd. ‘He is like a silent storm. When you take an elephant to Delhi you can’t expect not to have crowd waiting to watch it. The same way, you can’t expect not to have a crowd when Emraan is on the streets shooting,’ says Bhatt. After “Raaz” and “Raaz 2″, Vikram Bhatt is looking forward to the release of the third part of the horror film – it comes out July 6 next year.

“The filming of ‘Raaz 3′ begins on 15th January… releases on July 6th 2012!” Bhatt posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The movie will star Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez along with Bipasha Basu, who will make a comeback in the Bhatt camp after reportedly turning down a lead role in “Murder 2″.

This week on UTV Bindass Superstud, the competition gets tougher for the studs and to give them a few tips Ashmit has invited the man who knows it all, the man known to charm the ladies and steal hearts, Emraan Hashmi. He visited the Stud farm and was delighted to meet his good friend aka Superstud, Ashmit Patel after a long time.

Soon after they met, Ashmit introduced Emraan to the contestants, who were equally excited to interact with him. While introducing him Ashmit proclaimed, “Emraan is the original stud and the boys should look up to him and definitively note down the tips given by him.” More

With directors like Milan Luthria, Vishal Bhardwaj, Vikram Bhatt and Kunal Deshmukh all set to make films with him, Emraan can well be said to be enjoying all the attention.

“Yeah you can say that,” smiles Emraan, “Moreover I am working with makers with whom I always wanted to be associated with. With Milan I have worked earlier in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI. Then Dibakar is someone whose work I really love. I am enjoying being a part of his SHANGHAI which is turning out to be an interesting political thriller. These films are bringing me into different zones though not quite taking me away from the kind of audience base that I enjoy. ” More

‘Murder 2′ has not just turned out to be the biggest success ever for the Bhatt camp; it is now already Emraan’s biggest grosser till date when it comes to his solo releases. While ‘Jannat’ had done just a little in the upwards of 30 crores, ‘Murder 2′ with it’s 36 crores tag is already sitting pretty at superhit mark with very good chances of making further progress.

The film is also special for Emraan since after Salman, it is he who has enjoyed maximum footfalls in the opening week. Even though ‘Double Dhamaal’ as well as ‘Delhi Belly’ had netted similar collections (in the range of 36 crores after one week), Emraan’s film has managed to elbow them out, hence enabling him to sit pretty in elite company. It seems it’s Emraan Hashmi or nothing for Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Daayan! After some actresses said no to working with the actor in the supernatural thriller, the filmmaker made it very clear that Emraan was his top priority.

Said a source: “Both Vishal and (producer) Ekta Kapoor believe Emraan is the fulcrum of the script and the only non-negotiable member of the cast.”

“Vishal thinks Emraan has huge potential. He wanted to cast Emraan in 7 Khoon Maaf in the role that Irrfan Khan eventually did but it didn’t work out.

“Emraan is in demand with several topnotch filmmakers. Rohan Sippy who wanted to cast him in Dum Maro Dum is casting the actor in his next. Dibakar Banerjee chose Emraan at the cost of losing Katrina Kaif in his new film Shanghai,” the source added. More

As per the inputs, MURDER 2 took off with collections in the range of 55-65 and even 80 percent, more so in Delhi-UP, East Punjab and Gujarat. In fact the film picked up even more during the latter shows. Given the economics a few sections of the trade have already declared the film a success and it comes as no real surprise as the first day is just a wee bit short of last week’s DELHI BELLY. And that may be because of the weather vagaries in Mumbai city and suburbs.

The other release of the same week, CHILLAR PARTY, despite appearances by Salman and Ranbir, is a washout, and may not complete even a week at some cinemas. More

There is indeed a lot of expectation from MURDER 2. After all if the talkie and song promos are any indication, ‘being bold’ has seemingly taken an altogether different meaning for a leading lady in MURDER 2, Jacqueline Fernandez.

“I won’t deny that…continues Jackie “So yes; there were intensive conversations around how to shoot certain intimate scenes between Emraan and me. But then it wasn’t like ‘let’s make it graphic’ or ‘make it way too revealing’,” reveals Jackie, “It was more about Mohit looking at capturing the right moment on screen and ensure that the intimacy came alive. Now if that required both of us to allow our inhibitions to fly away then that’s fine. We did everything that was required to make our intimacy look convincing enough on the screen.” More

According to the director of Murder 2, Mohit Suri says shooting bedroom scenes can be a nightmare. Suri, who has directed upcoming thriller, a sequel to 2004 hit film Murder, has shot a few lovemaking scenes with the lead pair Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez.

“Lovemaking is the most difficult scene to shoot because there the director cannot show the actors what to do. You have to let the actors be and let them do their own thing,” the 30-year-old director told. More

It was news some time back that maverick director Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor will be teaming up, well now we hear that Ekta and Vishal are all set to make a supernatural musical titled Dayaan. Helping them out as the creative producer for the film will be Abhishek Chaubey of Ishqiya.

But what’s interesting to know is that Emraan Hashmi, who has mostly been associated with the Bhatt camp, will be seen romancing three leading ladies in the film.

When contacted, Ekta confirmed the same and added, “Yes, Vishal and I are planning a drama with a breakthrough genre. It will be replete with thrills, chartbusting music and supernatural elements. Three young and happening girls will be cast opposite Emraan.”

The project is expected to go on the floors this November. Source
