Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has largely been out of the public eye since the birth of her daughter on November 16, attended the reception of Bollywood actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’souza who got married on Friday.

Aishwarya, traditionally dressed in an anarkali suit, set off a frenzy as photographers covering the event rushed to click the one image no one wanted to miss.

Aishwarya was briefly spotted and clicked when the Bachchans hosted media mogul Oprah Winfrey at their home during her first India visit. Later, she drove with Oprah, father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and husband Abhishek to a party hosted by Parameshwar Godrej to welcome Oprah. Source

Hollywood actor-producer Joel Edgerton who is working with Amitabh Bachchan in The Great Gatsby visited him on Sunday evening with director Kathryn Bigelow.

Amitabh Bachchan tweeted: ‘Evening visit by Joel Edgerton, colleague in ‘The Great Gatsby’..doing film on killing of Osama, directed by Bigelow of Hurt Locker ! Errrmmm .. a clarification in case you have read me wrong .. thats Joel doing film on Osama with Bigelow … NOT ME !!’

Oprah Winfrey who is currently in Mumbai is also reported to visit the Bachchan’s house.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has surpassed Twitter queen Priyanka Chopra, emerging as the most popular celebrity on the micro-blogging site with 1,850,903 followers.

Bachchan, who joined Twitter in 2010, is an avid user of the site and has tweeted 11,108 times till date.

The 69-year-old took the number one spot after beating last time winner Priyanka, who now stands second on the list with 1,841,804 followers and 5,693 tweets. The actress follows 138 people among which are Shah Rukh Khan, Big B and Hrithik Roshan.

Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar came third on the list with 1,786,243 followers and Shah Rukh Khan landed on the fourth position with 1,612,989 followers. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently became parents to a baby girl and while the Beti B has wrapped everyone in the family around her little finger, there is one member of the family who is not quite happy with the attention the new one is garnering.

And the member in question is Bachchans pet Great Dane. Amitabh Bachchan today said that his pet dog has been sulking ever since their bundle of joy has marked her presence.

Bachchan took to Twitter to share the piece of information writing, “Shanouk, my Piranna Great Dane feeling left out and sulking ever since the baby has arrived .. spending time with him now more often” More

Amitabh Bachchan, who has received requests for pictures of his newborn granddaughter, says he can’t share the photos because it is a personal thing.

‘Many asking for the picture of the baby…I am afraid that is not going to happen… too personal…you will understand…thank you,’ Big B tweeted.
