Akshay Kumar took a well-thought break from kicking and boxing in films, but now is back to the action genre with Rowdy Rathore. The ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood says he is absolutely geared for the new innings.

“It’s been some two to three years that I have stayed away from action movies. It’s because when my son (Aarav) was two years old, I was scared that what if something happened to me…that’s why I was off action,” Akshay Kumar said here Monday night.

The 44-year-old established himself as the ‘khiladi’ of Bollywood thanks to a slew of daredevil stunts in action films like “Khiladi”, “Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi”, “Waqt Hamara Hai” and “Mohra”.

Actor-producer Akshay Kumar, who spends quality time with his 10-year-old son Aarav despite his busy schedule, says that he wants to keep him away from films.

“He is too young. I want my son to be away from films. I want him to enjoy childhood. I want him to go and play football. Go on the beach and enjoy life,” Akshay said.

The Bollywood star also revealed that he leads a disciplined life and doesn’t bend his rules regardless of his hectic shooting schedule.

“I don’t enjoy partying. I don’t understand why they play music so loud. I like to sleep early. I go off to sleep by 9 to 9.30. I get up by 4.30 in the morning,” the 44-year-old said.

“Twinkle sleeps by 8.45 in the night and thank god this is the only similarity that I and Twinkle share. Life becomes very calm when your partner sleeps at the same time. We share this one thing in common,” he said.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar says his character’s traits in “Housefull 2″ are inpired by the way veteran actor Ranjeet used to ogle at women in his earlier films.

“My character in the film is that of a guy who loves admiring women. He easily gets distracted by the presence of beautiful women. There are many men who do that…they forget the conversation and start ogling at women,” Akshay told.

“My character takes little inspiration from Ranjeet sir..like he used to be in his earlier films. It does not take from the negative shades of Ranjeet but the way he used to look at the women,” he added.

For Khiladi Akshay Kumar, returning to the signature series with the same title after more than a decade, is a deja vu moment.

The actor is returning to the Khiladi series through Khiladi 786, twelve years after he had played a con man in Khiladi 420 in 2000.

“It (Khiladi) is a title for me. Wherever I go people call me Khiladi. I have always been referred to as Khiladi (sic),” the actor said.

Khiladi 786 is an upcoming action comedy film directed by Ashish R Mohan starring Ileana D’Cruz, Paresh Rawal and Himesh Reshammiya.

“It has been 12 years that I haven’t done that kindof a film.I think the role it was written for me… I am happy to be doing action films again,” Akshay said.

GHAJINI director A R Murugadoss has signed actor Akshay Kumar for his next Bollywood venture. Interestingly this too will be an action flick and ‘Khiladi’ Kumar will be back to doing what he is best at – action. The film revolves around a love story with a strong action base.

Busy schedules and back-to-back movies are keeping Akshay Kumar so busy that he wants someone to replace him in his home production Oh My God. What’s the role? Akshay was supposed to play Lord Krishna, but now he and director Ashvini Yardi are keen to rope in either Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan to play the God in the film.

The film is a screen adaptation of Paresh Rawal’s Hindi play Krishna vs Kanhaiya and the writers now plan to twist the role of the main protagonist, who will play Krishna, depending on who signs on for the part. According to the source, “Till Akshay was playing the role, they were sure what they wanted. But now since that has changed, the director is more than willing to change the script to suit the star.”
