Not many people can handle this but Akshay Kumar surely knows how to balance his personal and professional life — he used his free time while shooting for new movie ‘Patiala House’ playing cricket with son Aarav. ‘Whenever he got free time during his shoots for ‘Patiala House’, he would play cricket and often Aarav would participate in the game. And Aarav would always beat Akshay at cricket,’ said a source.

An expert at martial arts and French sport Parkour, Akshay has also started training Aarav in these.

‘Aarav can even climb walls like a pro and can do the summersault even though he’s just nine years old… In fact, he’s getting better by the day even in martial arts,’ said the source.

“We come from similar backgrounds,” states Lara in a media chat, “Like me, Deepika too was a model in Bangalore, so that was the common factor.” Jiah, they aver, is the baby, and the duo are usually busy mollycoddling the saucy Khan.

The Khiladi Akshay Kumar’s son, Aarav, has become the youngest person to win a Green Globe Foundation Award for his efforts towards preventing global warming.

The Green Globe Foundation Awards exist specifically to recognize individuals and organizations who make a positive contribution to the environment through fighting climate change. Aarav’s award – for Extraordinary Contribution by a Child – is for adopting a village without electricity and providing it with solar lanterns and similar energy-saving devices. Reportedly, nine year old Aarav was inspired last year both by watching a documentary called Greenathon, and also by his “Preity aunty” (Preity Zinta) who similarly adopted a village on her birthday.

Though Aarav’s parents Akshay and Twinkle are currently in Germany for a hydrotherapy course and were unable to attend the award ceremony, Akshay is said to be very emotional about his environmentally conscious son’s achievement. Proud grandmother Dimple Kapadia accompanied Aarav to the award function, held at the inaugural evening of the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, where Abhishek Bachchan, Al Gore and Arnold Schwarzenegger all spoke via satellite on the effects of global warming. Akshay Kumar’s stunts and daredevil attitude towards life seems to be taking a toll on his health. The actor, who is known to perform his own stunts and jump off great heights for almost all his films, has badly hurt himself and has sprained his back. The macho hunk was gravely injured while shooting a stunt sequence for his production `Patiala House`.

Concerned over Akki’s condition, the filmmakers were left with little choice but to wrap up the shoot. Confirming the news, a source said, “Since he performs stunts on his own, it takes a greater toll on the back. And he`s had a back problem for a really long time. The pain wasn`t getting any lesser. Akshay decided to call it a wrap and for the day, and the doctor advised the actor physiotherapy and adequate rest.”

But more than his health, the workaholic actor was worried about the film. However, being the film’s producer, Akshay realised that the only one who stood a chance to lose money because of his absence was him. “No-one else lost money by his cancelling the shoot, so Akshay didn`t think twice. He`s had a record of working in the industry without ever cancelling a shoot, only because he doesn`t like the producer to suffer losses at his expense,” adds the source. More

Recently at the Film Producers Guild Apsara Awards function in Mumbai, the Khiladi played his game and smartly made a dig at Shah Rukh when he was invited to present the award of Lifetime Achievement to the Bachchan senior.

The khiladi Akshay Kumar is reportedly off to Malaysia to shoot for the costliest commercial ever. According to reports, Akshay will soon be seen featuring in an ad for Thums Up, which would be the costliest commercial ever made with an Indian actor.

A source from the team, which is busy putting together this commercial says, “Pick up any commercial for Thums Up that Akshay has done and you would see him indulging in some daredevil stunts. This has been the trend for the last half a decade or so, ever since Akshay was been promoting this brand. This year it`s going to be no different as the commercial would feature Akshay being a part of some breath taking stunts.”

“It is the costliest ever commercial for sure but I am not at authority to give you the final number. The commercial would be worth every rupee that has been kept aside for its shoot,” the source added. Source

The Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi Akshay Kumar did more than cause a stampede in Toronto where he went last week to be be the Indian torch bearer for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The action star, who intends to auction the torch and give the proceeds to the Special Olympics, was subsequently invited to television studios to be on one of Canada’s most powerful and influential talk shows – The Hour.

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan will be playing the role of an old lady in a few scenes in Vipul Shah’s upcoming release, Action Replay. The film is said to be a remake of the Hollywood hit, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. The Bollywood version will star Akshay Kumar and Randhir Kapoor.

Well-known Hollywood make-up artist, Paul Pattison has been hard at work to give Ash a full makeover. He is known for styling Mel Gibson for Braveheart and Tom Cruise for Mission Impossible. Director, Vipul Shah says that Ash has to spend about 4-6 hours day for the make-up to be applied perfectly. “She was extremely co-operative. It’s a look people have never seen her in before.” he says.

The film has music composed by Pritam and is expected to be a family entertainer and not an action flick as the title implies. Source
