Aamir Khan Messes Up With Javed Akhtar

Superstar Aamir Khan is at war with veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar over copyright issue and after exchanging some heated argument, Aamir Khan laid down his resignation letter. In his letter to HRD minister Kapil Sibal, Aamir Khan wrote, “It seems to me that there is an attempt by certain people to attack me in public by printing lies about me, thereby turning the attention away from a genuine debate about copyright issues”.

Some of the members of the committee did not favor Aamir’s view point over lyricist effort and star’s contribution and the actor had a strong brawl with Javed Akhtar. Unable to function in such an unfavorable environment, Aamir Khan resigned.

According to an eyewitness, “Aamir made it clear that he felt a song becomes a hit because it is picturised on a big star. To this Javed saab asked him, ‘Your first big song was Papa kehte hain. Did it make you a star or did you make that a song run’?” More

Aamir Khan’s Next Flick Gets An Adult Sign From The Censor Board

Aamir Khan is busy playing the role of a loving husband and is closely watching the proceedings of his next production ‘Peepli Live’. The movie doesn’t stars him and has the gifted Raghuvir Yadav playing a troubled farmer who announces his suicide in advance, creating a media frenzy to capture the event live. The settings of the film demanded bucolic dialect that at times crosses borders and becomes foul.

The Censor Board asked Aamir to chop those scenes if he needs a ‘U’ certificate.

But how can a perfectionist kill the feel of his film so dear Aamir decided not to make a single change in the film. Even if that meant accepting an ‘A’ certificate that excludes the viewers under 18 from watching the film in theatres. So not very good news for below 18 Aamir fans who will have to stay away from ‘Peepli Live’ whenever it hits the theatres and according to sources, the dark comedy directed by newcomer Anusha Rizvi, ‘Peepli Live’ is already created the right buzz by becoming the official entry to the Sundance Film Festival. ‘Peepli Live’ is not for ‘All’ though it promises to be ‘Well’. The Thin Line Between 3 Idiots & Five Point Someone

The public spat between the author of Five Point Someone, Chetan Bhagat, and the makers of movie based on it - 3 Idiots - doesn’t seem to die down. While Chetan claims around 70 per cent of the film is lifted from the book, its lead actor Aamir Khan believes only 5 per cent of the book is embodied in the flick. Let’s try and de-mystify the similarities and differences between the movie and the book.

Similarities:

1.Broadly speaking, the plot of the film is the same as the book. Both stories are about three students of an engineering college who form an inseparable friendship over incidents that take place in the college.
2.The three characters in the book are very similar to those of the movie. While one of them - Ryan (Aamir as Rancho) - is radical and thinks differently from the rest, the second one - Hari (Madhavan as Farhaan) - is a confused character. The book’s third character - Alok (Sharman as Raju) - is facing severe financial and domestic pressures.
3.The narrators are same in both the cases.
4.Some dialogues in the movie — “the examiner looked at me as if I had asked for his kidneys” and “define machine” — seem to be a straight lift from the book.
5.In the book, Neha (Kareena as Pia) tells her dad Cherian (Professor Viru played by Boman Irani) why her brother committed suicide due to the latter’s demanding and dominating behaviour. Similar episode takes place in the film as well. However, the book talks about this incident in much more detail than the movie which covers this branch of the storyline in a single scene. More

So no shootings for me. I would like to concentrate more as a producer,” Aamir said at a press conference in Big Cinemas.

“I will be reading scripts as an actor but I am not sure whether I would be saying yes to acting. I would like to market my films internationally as I personally feel that our films have potential in the international market,” he pointed out. This year, Aamir will be seen in home production Dhobi Ghat, which has been directed by his wife Kiran Rao.

With his ‘one-year-one-movie’ plan, Aamir has managed to deliver superhits one after another and says he has been lucky in terms of directors and scripts. “I try to pick up films that I love or which move me emotionally. I have been lucky in the last 10 years to be successful. It’s because I have been lucky enough to work with directors who are very very good,” Aamir maintained. Source

Aamir Khan Stopped By The Army Officers

This might come as a surprise to all of you but Aamir Khan, who has been criss-crossing the country in disguise to promote his new film “3 Idiots“, has been denied permission to spend a day with the Indian Army’s cadets at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

“The film star had sent a request to the defence ministry to spend a day at OTA. But it has been declined and the ministry has not given any reason for it,” sources said. Aamir wanted to interact with the cadets and wanted to see their lives from close quarter.

Nearly 500 cadets from the Short Service Commission cadre pass out from the military institution every year. It is yet not clear whether Aamir wanted to spend a day at the army institution for his future project or to promote “3 Idiots” releasing this Friday.

The movie revolves around three friends and their college days and marks Aamir’s return to the big screen after a year. The actor has created a buzz because of the innovative ways he has been promoting the film. To market the film, Aamir has been travelling across the country in different get-ups. His travels have so far taken him to Varanasi, Madhya Pradesh’s Chanderi district, former cricket captain Sourav Ganguly’s home in Kolkata, Jaipur and Punjab’s Faridkot district. Source

Aamir Khan Surprises Another Family In Disguise

Aamir Khan, disguised as a documentary filmmaker from abroad, landed up at Ramandeep Kaur’s village in Punjab’s border district of Faridkot on the eve of her wedding. The bride and her family of Churchak village near Jagraon could not in their wildest dreams imagine that the disguised filmmaker was none other than the Bollywood star until he told them so himself.

The actor had last week played a similar prank at Ganguly’s house after he landed up in Kolkata disguised as a fan of the former Indian cricket captain. Dressed as a hippie-looking foreigner visiting India for documentary filmmaking, Aamir attended the pre-wedding celebrations in Kaur’s village near Jagraon town, 250 km from Chandigarh.
‘Aamir Khan came to the wedding functions. Initially, we were told that he was a documentary maker. When his real identity was revealed, there was even greater joy and excitement in the household and the entire village,’ Ramandeep’s father Jasvir Singh told. The trip, of course, was part of Aamir’s ongoing promotion of his yet to be released film ‘3 Idiots’. Source
