Aamir Khan Is No.1 - Says Salman Khan

Bollywood star Salman Khan is so impressed with Aamir Khan after watching “Peepli Live” that he has given him the title of “Mr.Midas touch”.

“Mr. Midas touch has produced a picture. Midas touch ‘matlab ke’ (means) Aamir Khan. ‘Peepli Live’ has a mad-ass touch. Especially the press should see the film,” Salman posted on his Twitter page.

With Aamir’s last three films — “Taare Zameen Par”, “Ghajini” and “3 Idiots” - declared blockbuster hits, Salman seems to have chosen an apt expression for his colleague. “I didn’t let Aamir touch me after the film. Agar mujhe gold mein badal deta toh? (What if he touched me and I would have transformed into gold?),” Salman quipped.

“Peepli Live” is a satire on farmers’ suicides and it has been directed by Anusha Rizvi and produced by Aamir Khan Productions Pvt Ltd. The movie is in the spotlight for its slick promos and quirky music. “Everybody should watch this film. It is comedy, tragedy, khulasa, sansani, breaking news…,” said Salman. Source

Aamir Khan Likes Only His Movies

Aamir Khan who hardly fails to impress his audience with realistic cinema quips, “I only like my movies, which are universal like `3 Idiots`, `Lagaan` or `Tare Zameen Par`. Other people do not believe in making anymore films which are universal. According to me, the only director who caters to the non-multiplex audience is Raju Hirani, others make cinema for cities,” Aamir said in an interview.

Aamir’s next venture ‘Peepli Live’ which is based on farmer suicides feels that filmmakers of today sidelined rural India. “There is a clear divide between Bharat (Hindustan) and India. If I were to go to Hollywoodto earn my living, I would feel much cut off from my roots, my home in Mumbai. Filmmakers these days no longer care about rural India,” he added.

Aamir reveals that he has to go through audition to get role in Kiran’s movie, ‘Dhobi Ghat’. “Kiran is a fantastic director. People think that I am a perfectionist, but I had to go through an audition, to help her decide that I am good for the role and then she cast me. I am one of the four lead actors in the movie”.

Really, Aamir we also feels the same that you are genius and so your films. Source

Aamir Khan & Karan Johar - Dostana 2 ?

Our sources reveal that Aamir Khan will now make a special appearance at the success party of Karan’s film I Hate Luv Storys, tonight. And guess what? At this private party, Aamir will be the only guest who is not part of the film’s unit.

Our source said, “Karan and Aamir were hardly acquaintances till very recently. And they have now become close friends. After Karan made his appearances at Aamir’s party for Gustavo and attended the music release of Peepli Live, things are clearer by the minute. Now Karan has invited Aamir to this party.” Apparently, Karan telephoned Aamir personally to invite him to the party. Aamir, who is known to be inaccessible to the rest of the world as he rarely carries his mobile phone himself, accepted Karan’s invitation graciously and promised him that he would attend his party.

But Karan’s is a get-together for the cast and crew of I Hate Luv Storys, hence Aamir as a guest is obviously misplaced. But Aamir’s not one who goes back on his word. He will attend the party which will be held at a suburban five star hotel.”

The buzz is that Aamir and Karan may be working on a project together. Is that the case? Or is it Karan’s undying wish of bringing Aamir as a guest on the next season of his show, Koffee With Karan, that keeps resurfacing from time to time? Source

Imran & Aamir Khan - A Rift Is Building Between Them

‘I Hate Luv Storys’ may be doing good business at the Box Office, but the film has caused a rift between Imran and his mamu Aamir, it seems. According to the latest buzz, Imran is really upset about the fact that Aamir did not like his latest flick, also starring Sonam Kapoor.

Reports reveal that Aamir, on hearing that the movie was doing reasonably well at the Box Office, told Imran, “Imran, you`re lucky!” And that’s perhaps what irked nephew Imran even more as he didn’t take the remark in good fortitude.

Imran retorted, “It’s not luck, maamu. We all have worked very hard on the movie.”

However, the young heartthrob still maintains that such a response from Aamir was pretty much expected. “Criticism runs in our blood. So a postmortem of every movie we do is a must. I’m sure if maamu has seen the whole film, he’ll have a few more things to tell me – all negative! But that’s just maamu for you,” said the actor. Source

Aamir Khan’s “Peepli Live” Gets An Adult Sign

If it’s an Aamir Khan event, it has to be different! And so it was when Aamir came to Delhi to promote his latest venture Peepli Live.

The film, produced by Aamir, will be released on August 13 with an ‘A’ certificate. Aamir remarked that Peepli Live was not for kids and was okay with the adult certification.

Asked what prompted him to produce a film on the issue of farmers’ suicides, Aamir said, This is only a small part of the movie. It talks about the migration problem and the divide between urban and rural India. It is a satirical film and based on some real events. Asked why he chose a satire to tell his story, he replied, Reality could be funny, it depends on all of us and what we choose to do.”

The movie revolves around the character Natha, a farmer, who decides to commit suicide. According to Aamir and writer-director Anusha Rizvi, Natha could be anyone. They reiterate that it goes beyond poverty. “We always tend to look at their poverty and forget they are people too. This is a story of a poor man and his personal life.” Asked what changes the movie will bring, Aamir and Anusha replied, “Koi revolution nahi aayega but hopefully this movie will engage a larger audience.” More

John Abraham’s Role Model Is Aamir Khan

It might come as a surprise to many but John has found a perfect role model. And it’s Aamir Khan whose career strategies are rapidly becoming the most emulated in tinsel town.

Most of John’s friends and Bipasha Basu think he has given his career’s best performance in Abbas Tyrewala new love story earlier entitled 1-800-Love now called Call Me…Dil after the song in Tyrewala’s film. Now that the date for the film has been locked in — its October 15, John is setting aside a large chunk of the year just to nurture and promote what he considers to be the most important film of his career.

John will personally supervise every aspect of the film release from publicity stills and posters to the chain of theatres to be selected, to the festivals that the film will be sent to before its commercial release.

If the diligent singleminded release strategies remind you of a certain meticulous perfectionist of a Khan them the resemblance is certainly not coincidental. John is definitely inspired by Aamir, and he has no qualms in admitting it. More
