PVR Pictures’ Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol starrer SHANGHAI is all set to release on June 8, 2012. The film is directed by Dibakar Banejee and also stars Kalki Koechlin and Prosenjit Chatterjee in prominent roles.
The movie is based on the life of politicians and their greed and has been inspired from Costa Gavras directed movie Z, released in 1969. SHANGHAI portrays the present political scenario and how common man gets his revenge back.
Dibakar is thrilled at the way SHANGHAI has shaped up. “Frankly I have been stunned by the performances from our stars and our character artistes. I can safely say that all preconceived notions that people have about both Abhay and Emraan are going to be shattered by this movie,” avers Dibakar.
Actress Sonam Kapoor denies reports of having problems with actor Shahid Kapoor and director Punit Malhotra.
It was reported that the 26-year-old, who worked in Malhotra’s directorial debut “I Hate Luv Storys”, has turned down a film by the young director because he has roped in Shahid, her “Mausam” co-star in the male lead.
However, Sonam took to Twitter to shoot down the reports and wrote: “I’m hearing the funniest rumours about myself! In Thailand, and all I can say is I’m on the floor laughing.”
“Okay morning guys I’m not mad at Shahid Kapoor or Punit Malhotra and I’m not dating anyone! I’m minding my own business and working,” she further tweeted. Source
In today’s Bollywood scenario, where every actor worth is salt is either getting Botoxed or undergoing hair transplants to look as good as possible, Akshaye Khanna, who was recently seen playing a protagonist in recently released Gali Gali Chor Hai and has been sporting a head full of thinning hair since the past few years, claims that he has never contemplated getting a hair grafting procedure.
The admittedly reclusive actor was recently quoted to have said in an interview, “Everybody has some or the other problem-back problem, knee problem, stomach problem…one has to pick oneself in life and move on. If suddenly your hearing becomes weak, it doesn’t mean that you have to sit at home for the rest of your life. Just wear a hearing aid and get on with life. I just want to be the way I am and there’s nothing wrong with it.”
In Gali Gali Chor Hai, Akshaye Khanna played the role of common man Bhaarat, a bank cashier who works as a Ram-leela actor in his spare time in his hometown. Source

The Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) officials are expecting a huge rush of SRK fans in Berlin. They are treating his presence as THE event of this year’s festival. Expecting a kind of a mob frenzy, generally associated with rock stars, they have refused to disclose the name of the hotel where SRK will be put up. It should be Ritz Carlton in all probability. Way back in 1998, Salman Khan took a step that struck a high note, in terms of tunes, that is. The irrepressible Khan gave a break to composer duo Sajid-Wajid with Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.
Now 14 years later, the duo’s nephews Amjad-Nadeem have been roped in to compose music for Vivek Oberoi’s Zilla Ghaziabad and Kismat Luv Paisa Dilli (KLPD), that too at the actor’s insistence. Lyricist Shabbir Ahmed has been roped in as well to pen the songs.
A source close to the actor says, “Vivek was very impressed when he heard Amjad-Nadeem’s songs. He asked them to compose a few more songs and when he heard those as well, he decided to help them bag their first project.
Vivek, who at present is shooting for KLPD, produced by Amit Chandrra and Krishan Chaudhary of Delhi-based Shrishti Cine Entertainment confirms, “Yes, Amjad-Nadeem are composing music for KLPD and Zilla Ghaziabad. They are really talented and if I have the means to promote new talent then why not?” More
Continuing its superb run, Karan Malhotra’s Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra and Rishi Kapoor starrer, AGNEEPATH has achieved another distinction. On Sunday (5th February), AGNEEPATH crossed the 100 crore mark from India.
This is an important milestone in superhero Hrithik Roshan’s career as AGNEEPATH is his first film which has netted more than 100 crores, having missed the mark by 8 crore in ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA.
In fact just as we had predicted last month (Priyanka all set for a double hundred!-13th January) after DON 2, AGNEEPATH turns out to be the second 100 crore netter for Priyanka, and puts her on par with Asin (GHAJINI and READY).
With AGNEEAPTH still being the first preference for the audience, even during the second weekend, the film has bright chances of achieving a super hit status. Source
