To become an actor you don’t need a six pack – Sunny Deol
At a time when whatever a star does becomes a headline, actor Sunny Deol says Deols don’t like to sell themselves and would rather be known for their work. While many actors remain in limelight all the time, the Deol family keeps their personal life guarded. “We like to have dignity and like to stick to what we are. We don’t like to sell ourselves. Today people are not ashamed of revealing or talking about anything. May be that is the culture or trend of the society today but we will not do it ever,” Sunny told PTI in an interview.”I should be known for my work and not how I promote myself and what I do. I don’t want to be known for bad things in life ever. I should be known for my work. People should love me for my work. And if my work is not good they should kick me out,” he said.
“There are three full time jobs — producing the film, managing everything around it and acting in it — which I’m handling at the moment, so obviously there’s stress,” he says.In fact, the pressure took a toll on him during the movie’s music launch a few weeks ago.
Biggies like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan turned up for the Deol family, and the celebration made it to the front page of every entertainment daily. But there was more to it, Sunny says, “We had planned a complete event for the movie’s music launch, but all the actors turned up and the media went berserk. But, at the end of the day, the love, warmth and affection that everyone had for us created magic on stage that day.”Lastly, there’s his son Karan, who is preparing for his film debut. Says Sunny, “He is being groomed and in a year, we’ll launch him. Times have changed. There’s a lot of emphasis on presentation, but I don’t want him to believe that to become an actor you just need a six pack or dancing skills and no acting.”
