‘Munna Bhai’ Series Is The Biggest Film Franchise In Bollywood!

Munna Bhai Chale Dilli, the tentative title of the third Munna Bhai film of the popular Bollywood franchise, will be directed by Subhash Kapoor. The earlier films in the franchise – Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munnabhai – were directed by Rajkumar Hirani under the Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films Pvt Ltd. banner.

In a recent survey conducted by a media and research firm, the franchise emerged as the most popular one in Bollywood, leaving behind Dabangg and Golmaal among others. The The Munna Bhai series scored a whopping 69 percent in popularity and is valued at a staggering Rs 500 crore.sources have revealed that the producers have been flooded with offers for brand tie-ups even before the filming has begun.

Chopra, Hirani and co-writer Abhijat Joshi jointly feel that Kapoor is perfect to take the franchise to another level. They are especially confident after watching the special screening of Jolly L.L.B., a satire on the country’s judiciary system.

Chopra said”I am pleased to welcome Subhash Kapoor into the Vinod Chopra Films family as the director of the next ‘Munna Bhai’ film, “Ever since the news of the film going on the floors has been announced, a lot of brands have got in touch with the production house to get associated with the film. The film has also been a hot target for a lot of presenters. As for the fourth movie, it’s too early to speak about it.” But he didn’t deny it either.
