Here’s how Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor gave director Siddharth Raj Anand a scare while filming Anjaana Anjaani at Jean dry lake in the Nevada desert. They disappeared just before choreographer Ahmed Khan could call for action. The two actors had seen some dirt bikes by the lake, and decided to indulge themselves.

If that wasn’t enough, a few crew members also joined the lead stars on the other bikes. Bechara Khan and Anand were on edge since the weather conditions were extreme and they had to wrap up the shoot before sunset.
 
At the insistence of Kapoor and Chopra, they also opted for a ride, albeit reluctantly, in the belief that they could get the actors to return to face the cameras soon. Thank God for small mercies. The cast and crew were done with dirt biking just in time for Anand and Khan to resume shooting. Fortunately, they filmed the scheduled shots just before the sun went down. Phew! Source

The diva Deepika Padukone, who plays a freedom fighter in Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, says playing the spirited character of ‘Kalpana’ was a dream come true. Deepika stars alongside Abhishek Bachchan in Gowariker’s period thriller based on the Chittagong uprising during the freedom struggle.

The actress, who started her Bollywood journey with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Om Shanti Om’, will be seen in a new look in the film.

“It is something so new and unique for me. I am very grateful to Ashutosh who thought I was capable to carry off such a powerful role. It is a dream come true and a very important film of my career,” Deepika, who was in the city to launch a designer footwear store, said.

Our sources reveal that Priyanka, who is busy with seven films in her kitty, was apparently approached by Kunal Kohli for a film which he wanted to direct with a new ‘jodi’ – Saif Ali Khan and Priyanka Chopra. Yet, due to her busy schedule, Priyanka could not give her dates. But now the sassy lady has given her nod for a Sajid Nadiadwala film with Saif.

News has it that Kohli is miffed with the actress’ reaction as he was chasing Priyanka for quite some time now. Talking to a news daily, a source said, “Kunal has expressed his disappointment and anger to some industry professionals. We hear that Kunal`s words have also reached Priyanka`s ears and she was quite taken aback.”

“Kunal isn`t ready to understand that Priyanka is neck deep into work. From finishing Vishal Bhardwaj`s ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ to Farhan Akhtar`s ‘Don 2’, Abbas Mustan`s ‘Race 2’, ‘The Italian Job’ and several other film offers, Priyanka has no breathing space. Along with all this, she is also doing ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and many endorsements. Vishal wanted to cast her again but she is facing date issues with him too. Kunal has, however, taken it to heart,” added the source.

Since Priyanka is busy shooting for ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ in Brazil, when contacted Kunal Kohli, he downplayed the reports and said, “I haven`t approached her for any film. I`m doing a film with Saif. We haven`t locked the heroine yet, just finished the script. I`m told Priyanka`s doing Sajid Nadiadwala`s film with Saif. So, that`s why I haven`t approached her.” Source

Now after exactly three months of an extended honeymooning period, she would be returning to the Bollywood scene. On 18th September, she would be attending the New York premier of her upcoming film and plans are already being put together to ensure a warm welcome.

Confirms film maker Onir, “Yes, Manisha has given her nod for the world premiere of I AM. She shot for her part before her marriage and ensured that all her commitments were fulfilled. Now that we are looking at taking the film globally, she is going out of her way in supporting the event.”

The most powerful couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan won’t be able to attend the screening of their film Raavan at the upcoming 67th Venice Film Festival, due to prior commitments with their brand endorsements. Raavanan and Raavan - the Tamil and the Hindi versions of the Mani Ratnam film - and Anurag Kashyap’s That Girl In Yellow Boots will be screened at the festival, starting on Wednesday.

“Aishwarya and Abhishek are not going for the Venice Film Festival as reported in some media outlets. The festival falls on the same dates on which they have previously committed. Aishwarya is going for an event for Longines (as she is the brand ambassador), while Abhishek will be busy with a shoot for Omega in Italy,” said a source close to the actors.

“There are other film festivals too - Doha and Pusan - where Abhishek and Aishwarya are being invited, to showcase their film or even for individual honours. But the duo will decide which ones to attend according to their schedules,” added the source.

Actor Salman Khan has no immediate plans to follow his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail into production. But says he would love to invest in “small and entertaining” films if he does. Asked about his plans on film production, Salman said “Not now. But if I do I would like to do simple, small and entertaining films.”

Actress Malaika Arora Khan will dazzle in a diamond-studded bustier costing a million euros when she walks the ramp as a showstopper for a jewellery store in the capital Wednesday.

The bustier is crafted from over 500 carats of the finest Belgian diamonds, said a statement from the jewellery store.

Apart from Malaika, models like Carol Gracias, Indrani Dasgupta and Krishna Somani will be showcasing the jewellery, crafted by ORRA’s design centres in London, New York, Tokyo, Antwerp and Mumbai. Source
