Not many people can handle this but Akshay Kumar surely knows how to balance his personal and professional life — he used his free time while shooting for new movie ‘Patiala House’ playing cricket with son Aarav. ‘Whenever he got free time during his shoots for ‘Patiala House’, he would play cricket and often Aarav would participate in the game. And Aarav would always beat Akshay at cricket,’ said a source.
An expert at martial arts and French sport Parkour, Akshay has also started training Aarav in these.
‘Aarav can even climb walls like a pro and can do the summersault even though he’s just nine years old… In fact, he’s getting better by the day even in martial arts,’ said the source.
Directed by Nikhil Advani, ‘Patiala House’ stars Anushka Sharma and Rishi Kapoor.

The action hero Salman Khan, who is shooting for his brother Arbaz Khan`s debut production `Dabang` in Satara district had to be rushed to a hospital during the weekend, after shooting a gruelling sequence which required him to run through fire several times. The scene required Salman to shoot in close proximity with the fire and though everyone insisted on a single shot, the actor took several takes before the scene was canned and ended up breathless because of the smoke.
“Salman wanted the scene to be flawless and ended up getting breathless since he was shooting close to so much fire. He had to be rushed to the hospital after the scene was successfully canned,” said a sources in the film unit. In spite of the doctor`s advice to take rest for the next couple of days Salman went back to shoot for the other scenes the very next day.
“Everyone was impressed with Salman`s professionalism. It was clear that the fire scene was a difficult one to shoot but he took several takes to get it right. He visited the doctor and was back to shoot the very next day since he did not want to interrupt the schedule,” said the source. Source
Here comes the cat lady Zarine Khan. She has an express fondness for cats. Reportedly, a certain feline called “Softy” is the prime pet of her life.
Apparently, the ‘Veer’ babe had found the cat in a rather fragile state. On rushing it to the vet, Khan learnt that malnutrition and weak bones had resulted in the cat’s ill health.
Admitting it to an animal hospital, Khan visited Softy every single day of the month. However, she was pained to be dissuaded by docs stating that Softy’s chances of survival were rather dismal.
A determined Khan decided to walk barefoot from her residence to a famous ‘dargah’ to obtain some divine assistance for her pet. Source
The starson Abhishek Bachchan, one of the most sought after stars in Bollywood, washed dishes at the Golden Temple in Amritsar as part of his kar seva. The actor was in Amritsar with his sister Shweta Nanda. They visited three prominent gurdwaras.
“Abhishek did some kar seva by cleaning up the premise, and washing the dishes at the langar (in the Golden Temple). There were two other prominent gurdwaras that they visited,” Amitabh posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com Thursday. The 67-year-old, whose mother Teji Bachhcan belonged to a Sikh family, is happy to see the religious side of his children.
“It is always such a joy to see children putting their minds to faith and devotion. Nothing would give me greater joy and nothing I believe could be better than their achievement in belief and prayer,” he added.

Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor had at one time ruled the Indian film industry. They had worked for some memorable films like ‘Deewar’, ‘Trishul’, ‘Namakhalal’, ‘Kala Patthar’, ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ etc but now things have changed for Shashi Kapoor, who is sadly confined to a wheelchair. Amitabh Bachchan in his blog expressed shock at the plight of the veteran actor, who received the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award in a wheelchair.
Amitabh Bachchan, who gave the Filmfare Awards a miss owing to conflict with Mumbai Mirror, wrote, “At the Filmfare Awards, when Mumbai Mirror had not appeared, the affable editor Jitesh Pillai had asked me if I would give the Lifetime achievement Award to Shashi Kapoor and I had agreed. I missed that more than the expectation of winning the best actor award. Seeing him confined to a wheel chair, was something I could never associate with Shashi ji.”
“Shashi Kapoor, that handsome gentle man. A smile on his face forever. A considerate calling on each meeting, now in this condition? Never!” the actor wrote. More
Its a fact that reel-life characters would influence real people. However it is even common that those very characters affect the actors who portray them on screen.
Playing a paraplegic patient in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’, Hrithik Roshan has been immensely influenced with his role.
While on a research mission for the film, Hrithik had interacted with many paraplegics through various hospitals. After coming in terms with their disabilities and quite moved over their plight, the actor made up his mind to help such people. Hrithik said to be in fact personally bearing the complete medical expense of 10 paraplegics from different city hospitals, including the cost of hospitalisation and medicines. This is costing him about Rs 7 lakh per month, sources revealed.

Another love story is in the air in the form of actress Sonam Kapoor and director Punit Malhotra. An artist in love with his director is not a good sign as it may hamper the work process. Punit Malhotra is directing Sonam Kapoor in ‘I hate luv stories’. During the shooting, both indulge in chatting which does not go well with Punit’s uncle Manish Malhotra and producer Karan Johar. They advise Punit to concentrate only on work.
The two became serious about their love during their New Zealand schedule. The source says, “Punit was constantly taking Sonam’s photos and telling her how gorgeous she looked. Whenever they weren’t shooting, the two would go out and try new places for dinner. In fact, Sonam even told her sister Rhea about Punit.”
Filmmaker Karan Johar is well aware of the love between Sonam and Punit and warned him against Sonam as she is very moody and short temper. Source
Mani Ratnam’s Raavana is in its postproduction stage in full swing, this incident from the last schedule of the film is something the cast and crew will never forget. It concerns Abhishek Bachchan, who plays Raavana and his co-star, South superstar Vikram, who plays Rama in the film.
A source says, “There was a vital sequence in which Vikram had to climb down a 2000 feet high cliff. Action director Sham Kaushal had taken all necessary precautions to make sure there was minimal risk involved for the actors but he didn’t know Vikram had a vertigo problem. Being a thorough professional, Vikram did not outright refuse to do the shot, but his anxiety while doing the rehearsals was sensed by co-star Abhishek Bachchan, with whom he shares a great working relationship.”
Abhishek walked his talk by volunteering to do the stunt himself. “Despite not being required for the shot, Abhishek began climbing down the mountain and asked Vikram to follow suit. All the while, Abhishek, who was not in the frame, showed by example how the shot should be done. Vikram, who was feeling much more relaxed about the whole thing, gave a perfect shot.”
While Vikram could not be reached for comment, an official spokesperson of the film confirmed, “It’s true. Such an incident did happen.” Source
